Just happened. 02/7/2022 21:45. The worst restaurant service ever. I had been waiting for half an hour and nobody from the waiters came to take an order. They kept serving all the tables nearby, despite the fact the saw me waiting for so long. Defined NOT recommended

It was a perfect choice dining at the Brasserie de I'Univers! Reservations are accepted but not mandatory. We arrived early and were seated right away. The service was fantastic! We felt incredibly welcome, which is somewhat rare as tourists. The menu is in French but easy to decipher even if you don't speak the language. The manager and waitress were both fluent in English and helpful in making great meal selections. The food was great! We enjoyed the burrata appetizer, fish and chips, as well as the beef special. Lots of fun drinks to choose from!! I really enjoyed their espresso martini and cosmopolitan. The prices were surprisingly affordable. It's obvious their management does a wonderful job keeping this busy restaurant running efficiently.

Very chic, quick service for 62 people. The duck was very tasty.

Nothing special despite the reviews. I had the cod and it was overcooked, also ordered pomme frites and didn't get. The waiters are more interested in posing than serving and I am sure there are much better restaurants to visit in the area only came here due to google guide recommendations and wish I had stopped at other places on the way

The waiter, blond guy is rude and also the person in charge, guy with the fancy moustache. Ordering drinks and already been looked down in because he wanted to give the bill. But we wanted to eat and that messed up his bill. After eating, my husband ordered a rosé and we didn't want a dessert. We had his boss next to us pulling faces. What does he thinks we are blind. Cleaning up?? Took forever ever and left the used papers on the table. Very nice service? Is the heat too much?? if the boss is behaving bad then the waiters can be this way too. Maybe the cook can teach them because the food is excellent. Sorry we are just toerists but be aware you never know who you serve.

Food was OK, service was not the best, and they cloned my card when I paid for the meal on Saturday 6th Aug.....I shall be paying them a visit on my return to tours in 2 weeks, I look forward to seeing the guy that took the payment.

Nice patio, swimming pool and “mans”place. Great wifi speed, huge tv. Hygiene an issue with cat often up on table with our food!! Owner needs to address. Great breakfast…except sharing it with bloody cat. One of our party allergic to cats! Took our own food for supper. No nearby cafes as we were on bikes.

Just for the drinks. The food is very bad and burned i have been many times there and the first time i thought its an incident but the 2nd and 3rd time it means that the chef is below the standard.

The Go-To place if you want great food and amazing ambiance. My non-French family in law loved it. Service is top, location is as good as it gets. I recommend the home-made chocolate mousse, it's to die for!

Dropped for dinner and was not impressed. I had the duck breast with pepper sauce. Duck breast was grilled and quite nice, the pepper sauce had no taste at all though. Wife had the sirloin steak which was very tough, fries were cold and once again the mushroom sauce had no taste. Wine choices were uninspiring. Staff were attentive and efficient though

We came here on our last night in Tours after reading very positive reviews of this restaurant. However, we were disappointed with our meal. I ordered the steak, it was cooked well, however the chips were cold and the salad wasn’t anything special. My girlfriend ordered the burger, it was okay, and the chips were also cold. The service was good, and the food came quickly, but overall we were disappointed with this meal despite the very positive reviews.

Absolutely unbelievable arrogant…trying to have a breakfast and move from table to table… room was almost empty but we are “recommended” to share table.

very french menu but ran out of foie gras. the planches are great selection of salmon and cheeses. my son tried the canard and enjoyed and he doesnt usually try new foods. the andouillete is intestines made into a sausage but particular taste and not for everyone. chateabriand was excellent as was the wine. we had a seperate room but had to leave early cause way too hot with no air circulation. cant imagine in the summer. pretty good value

Great place for drinking and dining , more casual but accommodates smart in the back , big varied menu great beers and cocktails, and the service is excellent z you are really made to feel so welcome here z foods pretty good and location is great as its less than 10 min walk to the train station and central hotels , open till late

Really really lovely place to have a glass of rose or beer on the way. The food looked amazing (we didn't eat here as we had reservations up in the old town) - recommended 100%

Great food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Generous servings and a good wine list. Not too busy not too quiet. Pork tomahawk and Italian carpaccio were so tasty and delicious. The hurrays was fresh and light. Banoffee dessert an absolute winner !

Coming early for a meal is worth it! Saturday lunches get very busy. We got there just when lunch started and we enjoyed a very tasty meal. Fast and professional service. Friendly. Beautiful location.

One of the worst meals so far in France. The one star is for the wait staff, who were adequate but not great, and the view out the window. But when the food competes with the view, and ends up losing so horribly, you’re just as well off getting a croissant and eating on the bench by the fountain. I’d go into detail, but it’s just not worth the time. Spend a few extra euro and take a walk to the old town - Rue Colbert has a variety of very good places with better food, better atmosphere, better experience altogether. Avoid this one.

Lovely food. Cooked extremely well. Really great atmosphere prompt service & reasonably priced food. We ordered burger cooked how I like it. Delicious. Moules Blue in cream sauce & frites for my husband. Vouvray wine same price as house by the glass just great.

Nice atmosphere good menu. Ordered steak but they cooked it the foriegn way... Over cooked, i did azk for bdin cuit but no one every cooked it that well before.... My iwn faukt. They do musseks and frites too great flavour.

I only was here for the hamburguer, and it was really good. Also the place is amazing. Although the waiters I talked do not speak english very well, it was easy to deal with them. Waiters are very friendly. I will repeat next visit.

Went for breakfast, despite only two other people there. Our server Benjamin managed to make us feel completely unwelcome. When we asked what was wrong he said we asked too many questions and he had many other customers (two other people). Coffee was poor food was ok.

Good experience. Big but cosy space, a bit noisy due to the number of tables. Nice food, kids menu. Come early if you want to have a table and prompt service.

Horrible! Took a long time to get our drinks initially. Waited for half an hour for someone to come and take our order, despite trying to flag down a waiter/waitress multiple times. Went up to the bar, paid the drinks, and asked if we can order and was told "ok", followed immediately by the waiter leaving. At this point, we just left. Avoid this brasserie!
