A unique and amazing experience!! Vulkana is a MUST for someone visiting Tromso! We got one of the most luxurious and relaxing experiences, thanks to our extremely polite hostess Janina, while tasting snacks and discussing with her about Tromso’s lifestyle! Great place to unwind. A boat with a steam room, hot tub, dry sauna, showers, food and beverage service and ample space and changing areas. May get crowded depending on timing but there was very few people when I went and it was amazing. Staff is super kind and friendly.

We were here late September and purchased the brunch 2 hour time slot since there was no actually sailing available. Johanna our host was fantastic! We arrived for our 10am time slot and were greeted with a welcome drink that was a warm cinnamon ginger tea said to be good for the immune system. We enjoyed everything!! There's a sauna with legit hot wood and water available to pour over rocks to add heat and get sweaty. Theres a steam room that also has the cold water from the sea in a small pool in the same room. They refer to this as hammam. I was slightly confused having had a hammam in marrakesh just one week ago. But yes, they have the right idea, the room is very very hot and steamy and the cold water pool in the same room does indeed offer a similar experience to hammam. It's just more do it yourself. Plus since I was uninterested in getting in the actual sea, this was my opportunity to try the cold sea water! My boyfriend jumped in the sea from the side of the boat immediately after sitting in the hot jacuzzi as is the nordic tradition and said to be great for the immune system. There were chips, peanuts, and water available for free. We each had a beer theta was to paid for afterwards. No problem at all. I will say, it's a bit confusing that we booked a brunch yet there is no actual brunch....that would be the only bad thing I have to offer about Vulkana. Other than that, it was an INCREDIBLE experience and I think if you come to Tromso it's a must do!! Thank you again to Johanna!! She was SUPER!!!

Absolute blast! Don’t miss this treat. We were a group of four treated to a fabulous night. Maria greeted us with champagne and appetizers, and tour of guest amenities. Our meal and deserts were delicious. Maria also accommodated my diet allergies. Gabby really took care of us and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our spa experience. Thanks for a great end to our Norway vacation.

Fantastic. Highly recommend when visiting Tromso. We visited as a family of 4 - kids allowed up to 4 pm. We had the boat to ourselves for the 2nd hour. We took a quick dip in the Arctic, then straight into the hot tub. Amazing view of the Arctic Cathedral from the sauna.

Such a lovely experience! The spa facilities are great, being in the hot tub in the snow was amazing, the staff are super friendly. We booked for an hour but extended for two and might go back tomorrow!

10/10 great time, staff, luxury. If you’re lucky you’ll have the boat to yourself which is 10x better than the floating sauna around the docks that is booked up in advance.

Unique experience simply put. Everything was clean and well prepared ahead of us arriving. Staff explained each section and tips about how to bake in the sauna and then cool down outside (if you want by jumping in the water). Showers were clean and with really warm water.

Unfortunately a really bad experience. We made an online reservation including dinner as a birthday surprise but not only that, the impressions on their hompage do not match with reality, the boat was completely overcrowded. All facilities where blocked by other people as it is public and the reservation makes no difference. So after 15min we wanted to cancel and leave as it was very uncomfortable and no space to relax. We offered to pay for one hour only (we booked 2h + dinner) to compensate for the used towels/bath robe and any preparation for our meals just to learn that it wasn‘t even catered for the food. Our offer was denied and we were forced to pay everything except for the dinner (because they simply forgot) It was the worst experience I ever made in scandinavia without any cooperation or making amends. So I can definitely recommend to avoid this place especially for the value you get for your money! Unfortunately I cannot rate with zero stars..

Highly recommended unmissable experience! My boyfriend and I visited the Vulkana Spa in late January with the lunch version, and it was everything we hoped it would be. Firstly, the host of the Spa, Isaac, was super friendly and very down to earth, cracking jokes while preparing our warm welcome drinks (since we were the first ones on the boat). Secondly, the Spa itself was great and had stunning views! I personally recommend checking the website carefully to know what to expect, as the boat itself is not super large (which is understandable since it used to be a fishing boat). When we arrived, we got an introduction to the history behind the experience and how we should proceed with each facility. Afterwards, we got a small cabin where we could place our belongings - no lock was provided as the Nordic culture is pretty trusting. My personal favourite part was the Finnish sauna with the Japanese salts - it does wonders to clear your insides! You can jump from the boat onto the cold Arctic sea, and there is a process on how to do this, which should be doable even for winter bathing noobies. My boyfriend jumped and he really enjoyed it! Lastly, be advised that there are more people on the boat, so it's important to be open and respectful of others. We were lucky to get two English-speaking couples on the boat, with whom we had a good laugh :)

Highly recommend! The boat had a sauna, spa, and steam room, with additional areas to sit and relax. The staff were very friendly and it was a great addition to our time in Tromso.

This was an amazing experience! We did the hot tub and sauna experience in the marina and it was perfect! The boat is amazing and they have it off of the Main Street so it’s quiet with good views. Our host Silvert was amazing and made the experience even better! This was one of our favorite activities we did while in Tromsø!

The hammam and dry sauna were very nice and relaxing. The hostess was very warm and welcoming. We went on a Friday night and it was crowded and more of a party atmosphere than relaxing spa atmosphere.

We spent a lovely and relaxing two hours on the boat. We swam in the Arctic, off the boat, and warmed up in the hot tub. The Hammam, sauna and zen room were also very nice.

A full spa experience on a boat overlooking tromso. We had a great time. Facilities include sauna, hammam, hot tub, shower, Changing room, blowdrier, relaxation zone and a bar. Of course, you can plunge in the sea if you are sufficiently brave!

Truly amazing experience, sauna hamam and hot tub on the deck of the boat was awesome, and we totally recommend to add the waffle brunch option the food was amazing. Very kind and helpful personnel too that complete this unique experience. Hugely recommend it!:)

Definitely book in advance because this place fills up! Also, pro tip, they give you a little cabin where you can change and even relax if you want. Spa offers a Norwegian steam room, a sauna, an outdoor hot tub, a polar plunge pool (over the side), a below deck lounge, a small bar, and showers throughout. Highly recommend doing the entire circuit including jumping into the Arctic!

We had an amazing time at the Vulkana: we were welcomed on a perfectly and cosily prepared boat by a friendly Finnish host, who was also knew his way around saunas, too. The interior was excellent, we had an astonishing view directly from the sauna at the bay and the Arctic Cathedral. Our favourite moment was the jump into the 5-ish degree cold Norwegian sea, which was an incredible experience! We finished up with a delicious and plentiful brunch, mostly hand-made by our host. We are definitely coming back!

12/10 recommend visiting Vulkana! This was our first and one of our favorite experiences in Tromso. Not only was the boat so beautifully designed and each individual room cozy and comfortable, the staff were also exceptionally kind and encouraging of our sea swim! Absolutely worth it, thanks again!
