Two stars for the ambience and the waiters being polite. Starter arrived after 45 min of ordering, main arrived 30 min after that and it was very cold. We were not the only ones waiting for so long, the place could do better in terms of times and quality. Maybe recommended to come for a drink. It has potential but needs to improve its service a lot.

Excellent. I've got say, "Don't believe some of the reviews". This was a great meal, generous portions, nice chips, and very fairly priced. The pave de rumsteak perfectly cooked. Three good main meals, a pint and a soft drink for 51 euros. Service brilliant.

Highly recommend this restaurant! We organised a family dinner here for about 15 people after a wedding. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and even allowed us to put our own decorations on the table. The interior of the restaurant is spacious yet still has a cosy feeling, with its big windows, traditional wood beams and decorations. The restaurant is separated into different dining areas, meaning we had a little space to ourselves. The menu has something for everyone. The food is simple and tasty as well as affordable. 5 star experience for me and my family. It was really the perfect venue!

Disappointing, waited 30 minutes for the dish of the day - tasteless pasta with (supposedly) salmon. Ate 1/3 of it, but found 2 fish bone. They forgot to bring the kid’s dish - fries and 2 pieces of ham… server did not warn about delay, just ignored us.

The best of all was champagne and cake with pear. Steak little too gummy, fish was better. Desserts ok. We were waiting little bit for food. Only one waitress speak English but came only once to translate. Rest waiters wasn't really interesting of us.

Kitchen works all day through. Unusual for France, good for hungry tourists.

Extremely busy ..tables too close together no privacy . Food was very ordinary . We had set menu and was no better than a kebab shop . Very pricey for very basic food . Not enough staff for how busy it was. Think it's all about money rather than customer satisfaction . Lovely building shame food wasn't as good.

Four really delicious main meals; perfectly cooked steaks, gorgeous tarragon chicken and perfect fries! Staff were friendly and attentive, especially Francois, who looked after us. Would definitely recommend.

Nice bistro food and drinks for a good price. Located in the nicest street in Troyes, with a terrace or indoors. Friendly staff. Food is not outstanding, but ok for the price, and you get to taste some local recipes.

A tourist trap of poor French quality. I bought an entrecote that was such a disappointment, that he next day I went to a local supermarket butchers and bought 3 excellent entrecotes for the same price and brought them home. Quality was fantastic.

Such a welcoming place in the historical centre of Troyes. Great service, great food. The desserts are to die for! Dog friendly.

Really nice lunch. Burgers were lovely. Prices very reasonable for a city centre restaurant. Service was a little slow but probably due to Covid after-effects/understaffing. Recommended.

It was the last day of our family adventure in France- and we finished with a wonderful evening at Grill Saint Jean. We sat outside, ate delicious pizza and enjoyed the charming service and the beautiful charm of Troyes. What a perfect way to finish our holiday. A lovely meal, a lovely evening. Merci bien

As English speaking (with basic French language skills) tourist's in Troyes we found this restaurant to be very accommodating. The table waiter (who said his name was Penelope!) had a good command of the English language and a great sense of humour. I would recommend this as a great family restaurant.

Honestly, 5 stars for service! Polite, friendly, attentive. For food...steak was uneateable, difficult to cut, French fries ...- I guess it was fried 5 times at least. Fish was not so bed, rice was delicious.
