Worst place I’ve stayed and it hasn’t even finished. Accused of smoking in the room because “evidence” was found yet no smoke alarms were set off. The said “evidence” was a loose cigarette on the side. To then be accused of making the room messy on purpose by the rude house keeping staff. Who then proceeded to carry on accusing us of making the room messy on purpose and smoking without even listening to our protests. To then be shouted at and told we are disrespectful. There were a few crumbs of crisps that had fallen on the floor a tiny amount. And we were told we bought them for the sole purpose of messing up the room on purpose rather than eating them…I’ve never ever felt this targeted and helpless before. Can honestly say it’s the worst experience I’ve had. We were excited to try food from the nice looking menu but after we were accused we decided we didn’t want to give these people any more of our money they don’t deserve it after the way we have been treated. Just awful. Never stay here.

The room was disgusting! Walls definitely need a paint or at least a deep scrub due to the dirt and leaks the room has had into it. Perhaps a better hoover is also needed having seen hair from other people and aging dust around the edges. Bathroom was the worst. From constantly dripping shower head, to no towel rail only the parts that attach it to the wall. I felt cleaner getting into the shower than I did getting out. The mould was horrendous! Ceilings, walls and curtain! Silicone starting to fall apart leaving grit. I had to pay up front for 3 nights and could only stay 2. Cant get money back for third night as booked through another company. Although it's the hotel that has my money!

Room and grounds was tidy and clean. All staff we encountered was friendly and welcoming. Only complain was no air conditioning, which was very needed due to only one tiny window in the room was able to be opened.

Our room was very clean, refurbished to a high standard but was overlooking a busy main road which was very noisy even with the windows shut. The staff were very polite and very friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel both nights and was disappointed with the standard of the food. On the second night we both ordered half chicken and chips and we were both given 2 small legs of chicken. We complained to a member of staff but no apology or gesture was made. Food was expensive so we expected more.

Very nice rooms, clean, spacious and beds were comfortable. Check out is at 12 which is nice especially when you have a baby with you, so we didn't have to rush out. The pub is lovely and the staff very helpful. Will definitely come back

The rooms were nice, clean and good quality. En-suite was clean and well designed and put together. Eating area was an un-expected high standard as was the food its self. Breakfast incl was great offer and looked forward to it each day

This hotel is so lovely. We appreciated the early check in as we arrived early in England from an international journey. The staff were welcoming and so accommodating. The rooms itself are very clean and well kept. This hotel has much character and the staff are so friendly. We didn't try the restaurant but next time we will. Highly recommend.

Good points ,room was comfy, bed was comfy . The 2 men that served our breakfast on Sunday were both really helpful and clearly completely rushed off their feet but still did all they could to help and serve . Bad points complete cockup from start to finish on arriving and checking in , we didn't get a room as the bride wasusing room 1 to get changed in , we were told we would get the key later so in the meantime we got changed for the wedfing in my Dads room. When my partner came back later (after the service & before meal) to put bags in room ,he was told we had no room !! Even though we had checked in on room 1 . That was now the brides sisters room . About 1 hour later he came back to the wedding , distraught about where we & our 7 year old son were going stay !! £141.39 we had paid for a room which was no longer ours !! At a wedding reception in the middle of no where , 6 hours from home !!! I then spent over an hour on my phone costing me money and missing all of the wedding meal trying to sort with the Manager Kelly ,there was another lady and her partner staying at the same hotel who had the other family room ,room 9 but didn't need it but it seemed impossible for the hotel to say they could give this other lady another room so we could have the family room 9 . I was distraught ,your hotel had ruined the afternoon for me and my family on my cousins wedding day !! Kelly said she would sort it then at about 6.30pm advised me she had spoken to central reservations and they had cancelled another guests booking for that night so we could have room 9 and the other lady who was originally in room 9 could have room 15. What an absolute disaster ,a shambles of a situation . I will never book with you again. Also on another note you beed to sack the breakfast chef on Sun 23rd July ,he is a very rude and angry man that speaks to fellow colleagues like a piece of poo on his shoe and for all to hear ,disgraceful

Room good, breakfast ok but expensive for just a pastry. Check in chaotic - no one knew what was going on. We were with a wedding party. Staff on reception openly told me he had no idea what was going on as had been at a festival until 2am and wasn’t meant to be working but started at 7am. Came back to drop a car off and collect keys for one of rooms booked (3 in my name) and there was no key. Turns out a room had been double booked so my sister and her family had no room to stay in. My sister then wasted the wedding trying to resolve. Even told they had no key for room 5 but no one had checked in - the person in room 5 had the key and had checked in the set before so stayed there already - not sure this is great for fire safety! Eventually rooming resolved by you cancelling someone else’s reservation and another guest switching to that room as my sister needed a family room. Thankful for the resolution but it took far too long to get there and the blame was constantly thrown back to the wedding party. I think someone called Kelly eventually sorted it out, so thank you to Kelly

Stopped here just by chance to get a coffee and use the toilet on the way home from west malling, went in and ordered 2 coffees staff were extremely helpful and very professional . Whilst standing at the bar I asked if they did a breakfast took a menu & sat down after 10 minutes or so I ordered one traditional breakfast and one large breakfast, as you can see from the photos when it came out we were shocked 😲 it was so beautiful presented & an absolute bargain the quality of the food was awesome, the place itself was so nice we had another coffee outside before we left . If you're ever passing pop in , such a beautiful place, awesome staff , quality food 👍👌

Double Room which was adequate and comfortable, unfortunately it was a warm day so room was rather hot, the room overlooks the main road so could not leave the windows open overnight. Fortunately there was a small fan. Odd smell of cabbages / damp coming from the bathroom. Beautifully decorated bathroom the shower is great unfortunately it only has a half glass partition so water goes everywhere.

The only thing that let you down was the evening meal - I ordered fillet steak, it was very small and hadn't been rested properly after cooking so it bled out onto my plate - a very expensive meal that wasn't very good at all. Breakfast was better.

The location was great, overlooking the village green and the Common. The room was well equipped with a lovely, comfy bed. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious!

Small carpark need to get there early if your stay there as also used for the punters Quick check in at the bar all info given Room was up some steep stairs no lift top floor . The 1st room i had smelt of fresh paint and was quite strong but also a loud humming noise coming from the bathroom you could even hear it when the door was shut , so took a video and showed the lady behind the bar she went up to investigate but couldn't find the source either, so waited whilst she switched rooms the next room also smelt of paint but not as strong. The room was an okay size as was the shower room. Obviously new decorated looked good and cool art work and photos. Bed was super comfortable had a good night sleep. WiFi OK Shower was hot and powerful Evening meal was good plenty of choice tad expensive. Lots of walks and running spots close by Would I stay again and recommend YES definitely 👍

The room was not very clean and quite noisy because of the busy road. Couldn't sleep with the window open. I was disappointed that the bed had not been made after the first night and no clean towels etc. On the bright side: inside the hotel was very quiet, no sounds from other guests. The bed was good. And the staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant has great food!

For the price the rooms were largely great. One door a bit difficult to open but no issues otherwise. We had a family room and a double, family room big enough for four comfortably without falling over each other. Would definitely use again as a base for exploring.

We had an absolutely lovely evening celebrating our wedding night. The night was made particularly special by Kelly and Lewis who went above and beyond to make our night memorable. The room was lovely and the breakfast tasty. We honestly had absolutely no complaints or any advice, other than to keep up the good work!

The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed staying there. The employees were welcoming and helpful, we had to check in early in order to change our traveling clothes for a ceremony and the person who helped us found a room at 10 AM, that had just been prepared. It was perfectly clean. The only negative point is the soundproofing: Church road is very busy and we could hear the traffic even though the window was closed.

Everything was great from staff, restaurant and room. All staff friendly food great and room clean. Could do with another fan in room one for each person as it was very hot in the room even though window was open but slept well as bed was very comfy! Bathroom lovely and clean.

Stayed here before my wedding and had a lovely stay! The staff were lovely and the room was clean. we had the family room which had a lovely bathroom and comfy bed. The staff were so accommodating letting hair, make up and bridesmaids join me upstairs. The food in the restaurant was lovely. Breakfast was a bit chaotic and not clear whether its included in the booking via third party sites but this place packs a punch on the low cost for the stay :)

In the first room the toilet was obviously blocked just on sight. We were moved to a new room, which had black mould all over the bathroom wall, around the coving and window. The window sill itself was visibly dirty. We had a restaurant meal booked downstairs for when we arrived and 40 minutes after we had arrived and ordered we were told the kitchen was closed and we would not be getting any food. Housekeeping had a long (over 30 minutes) loud conversation outside our door at 8am. Breakfast was better but we still had to ask for an item that was missing from our plates. We emailed in to complain directly and hopefully get a response before writing a review here but it's been three weeks and no reply. Very disappointing overall. I don't like leaving negative reviews especially after the challenges caused by Covid, but this was well below the mark even for a budget stay and we tried to engage directly with the inn

Arrival and check in quick and efficient - very pleasant staff Room pleasant albeit a little tired, scuff marks on walls, no where to hang damp towels in the bathroom (looks as though there was originally but just empty bracket.) Room was very warm only one window opened (however was an exceptionally warm weekend.) Very, very good breakfast.

Booked a stay for my family recently and was quite disappointed with the inn. The price of the room was unjustified taking in consideration the bad condition of the walls which made the space feel and look dirty. The pictures on the website were most definitely edited to hide the poor state of the walls and I regret not coming to take a look at the room before arranging the booking. According to my family who have spent the night there, the noise made in the corridor by doors opening and closing was also an issue. Besides this, their stay was acceptable. In addition, management seemed to be a bit confused at the beginning of their stay about what was included in the price of their booking and appeared keen on charging us for what was already paid for in advance. They also seem to avoid explaining which items are and are not included in the price of the pre-paid breakfast, such as coffees and drinks, in order to charge you more at the end of your meal. Overall I was very dissatisfied with the services offered and in the future I will make my bookings elsewhere.

Nice, friendly gastro pub. Great breakfasts and friendly staff. Note, is being refurbished from September 2022 to March 2023, so facilities may be limited during these dates.
