It is an old and historical cinema designed like an opera house with balconies at the rear. We were there for a sad event, a funeral service /memorial for Aytaç Arman, a, star of Turkish cinema and a wonderful guy who had just died. It was a fitting place to remember him.

This cinema is in a 19th century building at Beyoğlu, since 1948. Also neighboring Yeşilçam (the Turkish film industry) museum in the same building.

The cinema is very average. The ticket booth was old. There's no airconditioning in the theatre (at least during my visit - which was during summer) so it's was really hot and stuffy inside the cinema theatre. There's not a lot of spectators for this lowkey cinema though. The food and beverage counter is basically an old school canteen, though considerably cheap - definitely wouldn't recommend buying popcorns and drinks here though. Overall, this cinema is really outdated. So if you're into those old school, classic cinema and looking for somewhere not a lot of people go to, then this is for you.

Clean and functional! A small cinema in which you can watch english films (with turkish sub-titles). We saw the new James Bond movie Spectre tonight.

Istanbul Film Festival's main cinema, not accessible for all and seats are narrow. Great films though!

Movie theater is big and spacious, not crowded as well. Tickets are cheap for the location. The movie player had some issues and there was little dots on the screen, not very distracting tough. The popcorn is not very good.

I've been here before which was nice but this time a few technical problems occurred. Hopefully they'll get better on these things

Atlas Cinema museum houses a beautiful collection of movie posters, awards, camera obscuras, costumes and puppets from Turkish cinema. The ceilings are decorated with beautiful paintings and the staircase is a great spot for taking pictures.
