Amazing, eerie and imposing. Must see place but with a knowledgeable guide.

No ticket office here. Good view. Churches need more maintenance.

A special restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Heartwarming food was welcoming in the subzero temperatures. Thank you guide Ergun for taking us around the Soganli Valley. A must for those wanting to get off the beaten track and away from the commercialized touristy spots of Cappadocia.

A little off the beaten track makes this a magical experience. Take a stroll through the structures without the crowds.

Hidden apple garden tea-house is a jolly place to take a rest and enjoy your tea or coffee where you can obtain your fresh apple from the tree

Wonderful experience.. the day we had planned our original balloon ride got cancelled and this group was the only one taking off. These guys were awesome.. we were served breakfast and then taken for our balloon ride. The experience was wonderful. A check in the box 🙂

At this date, the site is apparently closed for visitors. However, people ignore the sign and enter (for free, there's no barrier). The restaurants on site are open, so it seems this is a general rule since the construction works and restoration take place. The churches are well sign posted and the domed stone ones are unique in the world. If you've come up to here, ignore the "temporary closed" sign and go to visit. If you eat at one of the restaurants, ask for the menu to see the real prices; otherwise, they will tell you prices in euro and charge you double like in the most touristic places in Cappadocia.

I went there for Hot air balloon ride once it was canceled for Gerome valley. On most days, Gerome valley ride cancels, so you must be lucky to get that. But, if you want to experience the same thrill but with less number of baloons in air for the view, you can choose Sonagali valley. It is 45min away from Cappadocia. I was kind of unlucky as my hot air balloon got cancelled in Sonagali valley too due to strong winds. I did it in Pamukkale.

I love it, so unique, not only to learn the history but also find how wise the ancestors being, uses earth nature as the best building materials for energy saving.

Me and my friend take our hot balloon tour from Soganli Valley and less crowded ,more cheaper than from Goreme. But u still can feel the same experiece u still can see the beautiful sunrises from this valley.
