The food is super delicious. We tried pirzola, adana, and sis, all were cooked and tasted just perfectly. They serve the yoghurt with warm bread baked in their own kitchen which creates the right combination for an authentic appetizer. Definitely recommending.

Sit upstairs on the roof garden for a relaxed and friendly dinner. All the classics of an ocakbasi away from the annoying music and drinking of the streets below. Service was very thorough and food was decent.

WARNING; THE STAFF ARE CHEATING ON THE PRICES AND INVOICES. Last night we order, 3 main courses 1 salad 1 aubergine. 4 glasses of local house wine (they charged us 250 TRY for each glass), the final invoice costed us 2000+ TRY. They added dishes that we didn’t order, they removed it after my objection. In the end they charged (us 2 or 3 times the menu price). For our safety we didn’t argue with them, we paid and left.

AMAZING! Came here in 2018 all the way from NZ and back 5 years later with friends in tow. We have 25 million sheep in NZ and this is still the best lamb I’ve ever eaten! Will keep searching for something as good at home and if we can’t find it we will have to return in another 5 years for some more lamb!

Great local find in and amongst the tourist-hunting restaurants nearby. It was fully packed both times we went. The flame grilled meat is full of flavour and a good selection of mezes with bread makes for a complete meal. A service fee is charged here (70TL for 2 people on a 750TL bill), but a 'complimentary' fruit plate did come at the end of the meal. For anyone sensitive to smoke, be aware there is smoking inside (despite the no-smoking signs).

This is certainly a place to visit in Istanbul! We stopped in as we saw many locals eating here and we were not disappointed. The food was incredibly flavourful and seasoned to perfection. The portions were perfect! We ordered the lamb meat skewers, the Adana kebab, the mixed meat platter and the bbq chicken (wings). The chicken was certainly the crowd favourite as it was fall off the bone perfection! To finish it all off we had a plate of fruit and their signature dessert (which was INSANELY DELICIOUS). The food isn’t the only thing we should rave about though, the service and welcoming atmosphere is something we appreciated. We will certainly be coming back to this wonderful place!

Food is not what is in the pictures, the guy cooking the food was smoking a cigarette, over priced for what you get, the best thing was the bread… Do not recommend.

Amazing place filled with the most Heartwarming, kind and attentive staff. The food is just as wonderful. Truly the kind of dining experience that makes you fall in love with Istanbul and its people. Thank you to the Babel staff and friendly customers who made our stressful day turn into a warm memory we will cherish.

Traditional Turkish restaurant. I had the eggplant with tomato sauce, delicious. I also had the chicken drumsticks which were grilled perfectly. Finished the meal with a fresh cut melon. Great place!

Very nice location to have a typical Turkish night out with amazing food. Nice service and the food is really, really good (the bread they serve with the mezze is the best in town!). Go there and check it out.

Absolutely the best Adana kebab or any meat dish in Taksim/Galata part of the city! The service was very good and in time! Also, it is located in the end of the street with restaurants, thus it is quiter than most of the other places! Highly recommended!

I was here in 2018 for the first time. In 2022 it's still one of the best and authentic restaurants in the area. I can only recommend it.

Very nice grill in the middle of the dining room, makes the atmosphere fun. Quality impeccable, so a great meat place. Well above average very reasonable price, and nice management.

Tucked away in a cozy side street, this ockbasi (think Turkish pit bbq) has everything: locals enjoying a night out, warm ambience, and every dish was on point. Best lamb of my life. Sides/mezze all carefully prepared with fresh ingredients. We will be back

I had only one night in Istanbul and I'm very happy that I chose this restaurant to know more about traditional Turkish culinary. A special thanks for the owner, Loyal, that helped us with choosing the dishes and with a great service. I highly recommend this restaurant and special mention for the pistachio desert.
