The food is terrible. The staff is utterly unhelpful, won't help arrange anything. The lady at the front desk actually told me when I asked her to make a reservation for me that she couldn't because she didn't know the number. !! The location is in the middle of nowhere. My bed is at a tilt. There's zero water pressure. The wifi drops out. The toilet runs constantly. But hey, the pool is nice.

I was lucky enough to be allowed to travel to Turkmenistan on business trip and was thus able to spend a few days at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat. The hotel stylistically follows the country's guiding architecture, which the political leader has errected everywhere in the form of new structures. The Yyldyz Hotel is a truly majestic building, magnificent and overloaded with marble and gold, located on a hill in a panoramic position above the Turkmen capital. The entire hotel complex is meticulously clean, the rooms are huge and very well equipped. The breakfast buffet breaks with the tradition of pompous luxury, the selection of food offered is qualitatively and quantitatively comparable to Western budget hotels. Due to the rather mediocre food offerings and the post-Soviet coolness of the staff, one star deduction.

Definitely a good hotel of course and we enjoyed our stay. However, for USD200/night (in Turkmenistan, but actually anywhere) one would expect hot water in the rooms. I don't see the point of having wonderful rooms with beautiful bath tubs while not being able to fill them with hot water (the water is warm, fine for a shower, but will be cold once you finally filled the bath!). Also, the breakfast could see some improvement in this price category.

So… this place was pretty awesome for a Hotel in Turkmenistan. It’s a bit far from everything, but anything in Ashgabat is far from everything. So unless you are willing to walk 10 miles or hitchhike with one of the 1 million white cars there… you are not going to make it far. The hotel staff was very friendly overall, but they had a very strange early checkin policy… basically if you want to enter your room a couple hours early … you will have to pay a full nights stay… doesn’t really make sense. The pool was cool, spa was great … the skybar was real weird

It was a one day stay with kids at the hotel. We liked the professionalism of the reception starting from the phone call to book a room. The Room was great, clean to walk without slippers (which the hotel btw didn't have due to delayed logistics) and spacious enough for a family with 2 kids. Regarding indoor pool, it was o.k, although they should separate Jacuzzi for kids so that mature men & women could not use it. Liked the steam rooms.

Great hotel built on very scenic spot. Great personnel. ONLY! The kids pool is lacking lifeguard to manage it and explain to visitors that it is a family and kids section, witnessed how russian man about 30 years old sat in the kids jacuzzi with legs spread out 🤦🏻‍♂️ with sunglasses on, indoor pool 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Hotel is out of the town, so no walking around. Huge rooms. Air in extremely cold. Very limited breakfast and very strangely arranged - porridge, plates and spoons are located in 3 different places. Disastrous mattress. Impossible to turn off lights without walking after each lamp.

One of the 3 best hotels in Ashgabat. Rooms are nice and big, there is a nice bar on top and the swimming pools are nice (eventhough they are dirty). Everyone on town comes to pool at weekends so its a bit over crowded. It is a bit far from the city center and hotel's taxi is twice the normal price.

I've had dinner in their roof top restaurant. It does have an outdoor terrace, as well as some unique high quality food offerings for reasonable prices. Waiters and service are professional as well. Recommended.

Very elegant hotel, prettiest one in the city and one of the most unique designs of any hotel I’ve seen. Stopped by for the bar and the restaurant here, both really good quality. We did run into issues with the bar not having proper change for larger bills, they had to call down to the front desk several times to get someone to bring up some smaller bills to make change, so it seems they should’ve been more prepared on that front. Other than that I found the staff to be friendly, and the views from the windows were breathtaking. The location of the hotel is really peculiar, kind of the middle of nowhere in relation to the heart of Ashgabat, so it’s not an easily accessible place to walk to, and once you’re there you feel a bit isolated. They had good WiFi here as well, worked in far more areas of the building than other hotels with WiFi in Turkmenistan, which was much appreciated.

Very nice room, but location is so isolated, nothing around. No taxi stand by, waiting time at 6 am is 20 minutes. Breakfast kit was poor, didn't eat it 2 days in a row, green apple was small and sour.

Only had dinner here. Unrestricted wifi at a low fee - just ask the waiters to buy a code. Food was good. Nice views over the city. They have bread with olive oil and balsamic which was a nice change of pace

Large room, staff helpful, Wi-Fi strong in the room, and the heater is really great! The breakfast is buffet, though mostly cold. Had to ask for chef to cook eggs to have hot meal

😠 a 5 star hotel??? No way!) These rooms are the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. Really! You pay good money ~160USD but the rooms are awful, breakfast is disgusting and service leaves much to be desired (it would be correct to say that it is simply not available..at all).. The sheets were dirty the...

😠 The hotel and the rooms look palatial. But that’s all that is good about this hotel. It’s just superficially grand. But the toilet had a bad odor. Soaps are not sufficient. To say that the breakfast is dull is an understatement. And the staff don’t really care about guests. Check out was a pain sinc...
