This market is one of the most interesting places you would like to visit when in umuahia, ohuhu, it holds once a week, so you have to ask questions before coming, it also has a pattern, if the market held on Monday this week then it will hold on Tuesday next week, Wednesday next two weeks,till all the days in the week is complete then it starts over again .

It is supposed to be a market, because Ahia means market in igboland, but it's far from it. Looks like a junction, maybe I visited on the day that isn't market. Felt more like a regular junction or market to me. Note: the transporters there overcharge ridiculous amount of money to move you from that spot to any other spot.

Ahia Nkwoegwu is a village market that operates in full capacity every eight days ( Nkwo days). Buyers and sellers from the nearby Umuahia town are seen in their great numbers on the market days On ordinary days, few villagers are seen in the market, selling their goods. The market is located adjacent to a road, with so much traffic experienced on the market days; however, there are some alternative routes to bypass the market on such days.

It is a farmer's market. It is a weekly market. In the sense that it has one day of the week that is the main market day. During which the market is always full and much people from surrounding villages visit the market on that weekly day. It is a cool place. Freshly harvested fruits and crops are sold here.
