Peace and loaf was disappointing as a fine dining, tasting menu. It had nice food but not the same quality I’ve had at other places around Newcastle. Unfortunately a few of the dishes were verging on cold, including the both the scallop and main lamb dish, which is not what I expect from a place like this. However, the one amazing dish was the date cake with vanilla ice cream. That was incredibly! Soft, spongy cake with a gorgeous syrup, delicious!

Fantastic from start to finish. There was so much food it was a challenge at the end. The wine pairing was top notch. Michelin prices, but it's worth the treat. I'm not sure why you're still reading this - just go.

Excellent experience at Peace & Loaf. After having been recommended P&L, my wife and I were not disappointed. We had the smaller taster menu which was just right for us, however on a future occasion, we will opt for the larger option. Reason being...excellent food, well balanced flavours and combination of dishes. The staff are excellent, very attentive. We were impressed by the entire team's knowledge, easily answering questions we had. Cocktails were very tasty, we found the same level of attention was delivered with drinks as the food, but of course, the food and service are the real standouts here. Highly recommended, thanks P&L team.

Wonderful tasting menu experience in a restaurant with a unique interior design. Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable about the many dishes that were served. Nice to be able to savour all of the food and not feel that you were being rushed. Would highly recommend if you are a foodie and would also book in advance as it is a popular place.

Went for the festive vegetarian tasting menu but asked ahead if they could make it vegan, peace and loaf did not disappoint. They just couldn't make one of the pudding courses vegan so gave a cocktail instead. We were looked after by the staff really well through our visit and all the dishes were amazing. Definitely worthy of a five star rating.

Worth every penny. Would recommend to anyone. I'm partly devastated that the kitchen doesn't sell the sorbet they use on the galangal and rhubarb dish. It would be amazing if the chef had a blog or something on how he made it. I'd happy pay for tubs of that stuff!

10 course taster menu was superb and very filling. Breakfast and dinner definitely not required! Food was all extremely tasty and the courses complimented each other very well. Vegetarian in party also received a great vegetarian version version of the same menu with excellent vegetarian substitutions (some of which were superior in my opinion). The restaurant itself has wonderful staff who are both knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Decor is stylish and music pipes tastefully over head to support the friendly and intimate atmosphere despite each table being populated. Toilets are clean and tastefully decorated. Definitely one for special occasions.

Both service and food are excellent. I went for the shorter menu as I didn’t have time for the full tasting menu. They didn’t bat an eyelid or charge the earth when I asked to add a course from the tasting menu. I’ll be back for the full tasting experience as soon as I can.

One of the best meals I've had in my life, and easily the best in the North East. Really impressive, unpretentious food cooked with talent and respect for the produce. The service was brilliant. Not only flawless and knowledgeable, but really going the extra mile with genuine personality, warmth and humour. Outstanding, I really couldn't recommend it more!

Wow. What a superb experience. A stunning culinary experience and the service from the bar & being greeted, to our wonderful waitress and everyone in between was faultless. You are made to feel more than a guest and more like a friend. Very relaxed and genuine atmosphere. The food was stunning. Tasting menu had 13 courses (be sure to go in hungry as you get a lot for your money) and we were amazed at the stunning flavours and textures created. Wine pairing was superb also and nicely presented and explained by our attentive and lovely waitress. Stand out dishes for me were Bread & Spreads & Cauliflower Satay. Having eaten in 3 star restaurants, these dishes could easily have made the menu there. The bread and spreads was the most clever and stunning dish I have ever eaten. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. The only surprise is you don’t have a Michelin star. Possibly due to a more laid back entrance but I really liked that. Not stuffy or pretentious at all and all staff very genuine and lovely. This is a hidden gem. I’ll be telling all who listen about this place and when I am up from London again, I’ll be sure to visit again. Thanks all for a wonderful and truly memorable experience.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. The chef truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted on the taster menu melted in our mouths. And the waiting staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend we will certainly be going back for more!

Went for the large taster menu which was £70 per person, one of the best meals I have had in a long time, lovely environment with nice mood lighting, helpful and really chatty staff, the food was exquisite, had tons of flavour and a huge variety of different tastes and textures. The quality of the food was amazing and tried some new things, couldn’t hack the oyster far to adventurous for me, but yes not a place for picky eaters I tell ya!

Had the Christmas 2022 tasting menu, absolutely incredible from start to finish. Venue is cosy yet classy. Staff were wonderful, kind and attentive. Would definitely go again

What a fabulous restaurant ! As we were only visiting Newcastle, my partner and I ended up eating there twice within three days. Yes it was a wee bit indulgent but, after being hugely impressed with the '2/1/2/1/2' menu, we wanted to try the full tasting menu before returning home ; and it was worth every single penny ! To my mind, eating out should be a special event, an experience if you will. I like to be given the opportunity to try foods and flavours not normally available to me at home. I like it when care and attention has clearly been given over to preparation and presentation of the food. I also like to be fussed over and made to feel welcome. I enjoy a tipple from a well curated wine list. I also like pleasant surroundings and a convivial atmosphere. 'Peace and Load' ticked all those boxes and I really can't wait to return. Thank you Chef, thank you Front of House.

Delicious food at a reasonable price, quick and kind service in a lovely space. Some of the cooking was truly exceptional (I had 2 lamb courses despite not liking lamb at all and they were both delicious)and the deserts were some of the best I've ever had. The apple pie was sweet and full of the flavour of a classic cinnamon rich pie, topped with the best custard you've ever had and some beautiful raw apple to freshen it up. The sticky toffee pudding was the best I've ever eaten. STP happens to be my favourite pudding there is and this just looked at the previous bar and laughed at it before setting a new standard so good I fear I may never be able to order one again.

My first experience of fine dining and it was excellent Food was first class we sampled the B tasting menu accompanied with wine tasting and the wine was superb! The staff were excellent with their knowledge of the food and the characteristics of how the wine paired with dish was chosen. Altogether it was an excellent evening. Definitely will go back

Fantastic evening. The best dining experience I've ever had. Chose the smaller evening menu and every course was superb. Halibut, chicken pie topped my list followed by the bread and cultured butter course. Every member of staff encountered was, polite, knowledgeable and attentive. Everybody should spoil themselves and a loved one with a visit. Starting to save up for my next visit 😊

Myself and my daughter (vegetarian) had the mid range tasting menu here. Absolutely amazing experience, food, staff, ambiance and wine all perfect! The wine pairing was really good value, quite good portions for every course! Highly recommend this place

Great food and great atmosphere at P&L. We enjoyed most of the 13 courses over the four hours including the excellent wine pairing. Acoustics of the room made for a noisy evening at times making it difficult to hear the across the table and descriptions of the food

Amazing food, what a night, the perfect way to spend New Year's Eve

Delicious tasting menu, food and service both excellent and one of the few places where the vegetarian dining experience was equally fabulous.

Exceptionally high quality food, amazing array of flavours across the tasting menu! Service was quick, friendly and very professional. Great selection of local beers and the NE2 Martini was delicious. Only loses a star as I unfortunately found a hair in one of my courses. Overall I Highly recommend Peace and Loaf for anyone wanting to experience high quality dining in Newcastle
