The Chef's selection 30 piece platter was incredible. Couldn't say a bad word about it. All made fresh when I placed my order and you could tell how fresh it was. Staff were all super friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning and recommending to others.

It's a charming small spot in the heart of Newcaste where you can only eat shushi. They adhere to tradition by not using forks at all. The food was presented and explained beautifully. The flavour was also excellent. The staff were polite, and the prices were extremely fair. We did not wait much time to get seated and served. Overall, it was a pleasant and with variety experience.

Lovely welcome from friendly staff, excellent serving and presentation of food. Sushi is so delicious (we had unagi nigiri, salmon hosomaki, and prawn sushi). Super happy that I now have a perfect go-to sushi restaurant that I can expect top quality here in Newcastle ❤

Who would have thought that the best sushi we would try so far would be in Newcastle, of all places? Décor is nice, quite modern. Sushi is amazing and prepared fresh. Plenty of veggie or vegan options also available. Would highly recommend.Do not miss it.

Every visit here makes us want to keep coming back more and more. It’s a shame they aren’t in Northampton as I’d eat here weekly. Such fresh and high quality food. Mind blowing and the best sushi I’ve had in the UK. Keep it up guys.

You get what you pay for - top quality sushi and top quality service. Gets quite busy. Would be good to get a mix of sushi at a lower price point, but it gives you a reason to come back and work through the menu.

Just returned from Asia where we literally drowned in the stuff and I can say this is hands down the best sushi we’ve ever had. Perfectly priced, perfectly portioned and amazing service (forgot to get his name!! But we were in today at about 5:30pm, so thanks to that guy). We’ve already planned to visit again tomorrow lunchtime. Definitely come here

The most delicious sushi in town! The fish is really fresh and literally melting in your mouth. The range of cocktails is amazing. Cool atmosphere and most importantly, such a friendly and welcoming staff. People working there really like their job and you can actually feel it with service they are performing! Thanks a lot! A definite recommendation.

(Naff photo) The food was great. Cocktails were lovely. Its not a cheap meal, but it's definitely worth the price imo! We shared the chefs platter I believe it was called & upgraded to the crab roll. The staff were friendly, quick to serve, and I have no complaints! It is first come first served though. We've passed by a few times and had no luck getting a table.

They only have sushi but they are quite nice. Big and Chunky with a lot of studying. Most of them are above 10 pounds (8 pieces) but it's surprisingly fulfilling. Loves the vibe at this place. Very pretty fake Sakura tree. I didn't order their drinks but they have a whole menu of drinks which seems quite tempting. I would suggest they add some starters, like miso soup, tofu, seaweed, or potato takoyaki. I feel like the menu has too limited options. Unless you are a big sushi fan, you probably can find some other Japanese restaurants that have more varied options on their menus.

So I'm not a Sushi guy and this review should not influence you in the slightest. I honestly don't see the fuss about Sushi. It's not that exciting to me compared to other Japanese dishes. Would I recommend this place to someone? Yes, if they have not experienced Sushi before this is a very good place to start. The waiter was really friendly, informative and helped me with my first experience with Sushi. It was quite quiet, however I know this place get so busy later in the evenings. It took me awhile to get comfortable as I found the stools were quite awkward with the high tables. I originally thought I'd have to order alot for a decent meal. However, I was so wrong. Sushi is very filling as it turns out, and I ate 16 out of 18 pieces of the Chefs Selection and I did enjoy.

Great atmosphere, name and family run business. This has huge potential to be a really popular chain. Few areas I felt needed to be improved; the amount of rice Vs filling was not right. There was way too much rice which messed with the flavours so I ended up taking some out. The rice was too warm also which then warmed the filled up, sushi should be cold and fresh and I felt the warmth took away the freshness of the food. Other than that the menu and cocktails were all very creative and well priced. One of our rolls came out incorrectly but the team were quick to fix this and apologetic - accidents happen. If the rice situation improved I will 100% come back.

I had the California-cation and some salmon and eel nigiris. The ingredients were fresh, and their rolls are very well thought-out and put together. The plating was also a nice added touch. 100% will come here again!

We couldn't have hoped for a better sushi experience in the UK! Each and every roll was beautifully constructed and unique in their taste. The nigiri and sashimi were very fresh. We had the MVP which was impressive in its presentation and construction. Our waitor was very friendly and knowledgeable. We would make this a regular spot if we lived in Newcastle.

I received a gift voucher for my birthday and took my friend along for food. The waitress went above and beyond, she took pictures for us and helped my friend with a chop stick hack! So friendly. Then came the food, astonishing presentation. We had the chef's menu (15 pieces) and another crab sushi dish. Just wow! So fresh, so incredibly tasty. I think this has to be the best sushi I've had. We both loved it. The decor and atmosphere is so relaxed and all the staff were very helpful and lovely. Definitely worth every penny. 80s music in the background...what more could you want.

Great sushi. Too many serving staff for a small place it is. I just had a little difficulty understanding what to order, as I did not know about types being offered. Just googled. Staff was helpful.

This was without a doubt, the best food I’ve ever had in Newcastle. I’ve lived here for 5 years and I am still surprised how they continue to deliver such delicious food whilst also keeping the prices reasonable. I have been to so many sushi restaurants and have never been served food as high quality as this. I previously worked in Japan. As a sushi chef. I can swear that this is without a doubt better than anything I’ve ever eaten whilst out there.

Delicious as always! Great for vegan options. The portions are huge - I even had enough to takeaway for my dinner the next day!

Phenomenal sushi - 5 stars for quality, taste, presentation, innovation and value! Nice little intimate spot in Newcastle City Centre. Highly recommend!!

We came across this amazing sushi restaurant while out shopping in Newcastle last night. We loved how you can just walk in for a table, rather than have to book in advance. The food was fabulous and the presentation was 1st class. Staff were so friendly, they helped us choose from the menu and asked what we liked etc. The atmosphere and decor made it so cosy. We will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family. Can’t wait to go back again and try more from the beautiful, creative menu. 10/10 guys well done 👏

In the centre of the city, by dinner area. Small establishment. Tight shop with limited space. Best go max 4 pax. The neon light can be a headache - food not nightclub. Food, quite good. Duck and chef's selection is delicious. Others can be hit or miss. Serving can be better - separate plates to identify. I want green tea too not just alcohol or cold drinks. For food before a night out... Its a good place to start.
