Racquet's fitness centre offers a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities, both individual and in groups. There is a very welcoming, positive, warm and family centered atmosphere and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We highly recommend being a member. 😃

This is a good community gym to join, lovely, friendly and welcoming staff, and skilled personal trainers who would help you with a plan for any level, great choice of gym equipment and weights as well as outside area. Gym has many different classes for everyone and for every level as well as squash courts. Highly recommended. There is also a bar upstairs where people can meet over a drink 😉

First visited the Centre 10 or so years ago to get fit and then took up racquetball. It's a great place. Excellent facilities for young & old, beginners & the more experienced. Most importantly, the Racquets' team are very friendly, supportive and, of course, knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended.

Grateful for the fun and inclusive for all abilities junior squash sessions. Really enjoyed learning to play squash here in my 40s and appreciate this local squash club run by local friendly people who get involved in the community. All our family of 5 have played squash here over the years! Looking beyond the 1970s build is important to appreciate this fab local facility. Thanks to all at Racquets!

I love this club! Exercise is definitely not something I look forward to doing ... and gym membership has never lasted long... but i've found a bit of a home here. They have been so encouraging, patient and friendly. And who knew how fun squash is!!! Totally unpretentious place that I enjoy going to, rather than feel obliged to.

Racquets is the friendliest gym you will ever go to. From the moment I started playing women's squash I loved the vibe at the gym. Everyone is welcome and a bit like cheers everyone knows your name. The staff there are always on hand to help you in the gym with the equipment and the range of classes available is really varied. I also have really enjoyed learning squash. I had never played before and now I really enjoy it and have a good understanding of the game.

Hosted my hugely successful birthday party last week. All staff from both Racquets and Lemon Grass (the associated restaurant) were extremely helpful before, during and after the event which went completely smoothly and without hitch. Highly recommended!!

Joined Racquets more than 40 years ago to play squash. As age crept up, converted to Racquetball. Great bunch of members and helpful and friendly staff team. Would highly recommend membership to anyone.

Joined about 7 months ago as I wanted to maintain my fitness through the winter months. Great range of classes for all ages and abilities. Knowledgable and motivational trainers. Lots of flexible membership options too. Good location and easy parking. Recommended.

Soooooo friendly and welcoming. More than just a gym and courts, this is a great place for the whole family to socialise, stay fit and have fun.

So glad that we've both rejoined the Club (both played squash many years ago). Great for racquetball games and brilliant exercise classes with Claire. The Club is well run and brilliant value for money!

I have been been a member for about 3 years and joined with a view to improve my squash. Having only been a social player for years, it immediately opened me up to a vast ability of players and I soon learned never underestimate anyone with grey hair or advancing years. The squash ladders give you the opportunity to play different players and move up to play people of higher standards that ordinarily you wouldn't normally play. Coaching is available from highly experienced and commended staff and often just give no cost advice on a specific area of your game. At peak times you may struggle to get a court but if your organised shouldn't be a problem. For me I work shifts and can generally get a court. The gym is well equipped and personal trainers are available to tailor a fitness workout should you wish. There are a variety of classes throughout the day and again they tend to be more popular of an evening. And once you have worked up a thirst enjoy the well stocked bar with Sat TV. Its not David Lloyd's but it is friendly local club and excellent value for money.

I joined recently, maybe small but it’s great for my workouts loving to start feeling more toned again after 6 months away from the gym. Staff have been more than helpful & friendly much prefer here to the leisure centre no equipment hoggers! 😊😊

Pricey fees for a small gym — not to mention a limited range of gym equipment presents issues to its availability during peak hours. With the emergence of a new gym in town, Racquets will have to up its game to compete. That being said, you can't fault the staff — and the whole place has a homely, if somewhat dated feel to it. It also has a prime central location, other gyms in town are not well located by comparison.

Having experienced every gym in the local area, I can say this is by far my favourite. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Some of the equipment may be on the more dated side, but it has everything there you could possibly need. Would recommend!
