Our server was lovely, super nice, smiley and attentive! Prices are all extremely reasonable, very good cocktail menu. Had the cheeseburger, very good! The huge, sauce was great, the patties were cooked well and the grill it was cooked on was lovely and greasy. Wursts were MASSIVE!! But not heavy, the brioche was toasted but light a fluffy. Steak chips were also massive with the Steak Fritz, basically quarter potatoes!! Because they were so big meant they weren’t all cooked evenly, very crispy but quite dry. Overall really liked the place, the food was good, staff were super friendly and prompt. Can’t ask for more!

This place a is a must for beer lovers! Huge selection to choose from on tap and in bottles. Nicely decorated with seats available around and open fire pit, perfect for cold nights. The food was excellent and very tasty. The roast beef was delicious. Only let down was that they had run out of a few menu items, for example the burgers, roast chicken and basic desert items. Friendly and attentive service, I’d recommend this place and definitely go back.

Could not fault the food that we had, likewise the drinks. The atmosphere for a Friday was what you’d expect, but this just added to the experience! Unfortunately, they didn’t have any of their mocktail menu in operation on a Friday night which was a shame as we’re not massive drinkers and try not to drink due to medical reasons. We decided that whilst the food and drinks were great, the service we received was pretty ordinary. We’re always extremely polite and even tried to crack a laugh and a joke with our waitress throughout the night, but we didn’t receive much warmth at any point. We could also see her interacting with other tables except ours, which was a real shame because we too come from the hospitality sector, so we can empathise what working on a busy Friday night is like! Unfortunately our trip was really let down with the final step. Taking all of the above in to account, we decided that we didn’t want to pay the additional 10% (£7 in this case). Our waitress then became quite defensive and almost confrontational when we told her this. We didn’t want to call her out on her service to her face so we initially stated that the lack of mocktails was a bit of an issue. She stated that the fact they didn’t have any of the mocktail menu, was not a reflection on her, and more of a supplier issue. After some back and forth, we then pretty much just gave up and decided to just pay the £7 to not be guilt tripped, effectively and just avoid any more awkward confrontation. The “optional service charge” firstly, is optional. If I wish to pay it, I’ll pay it and if I don’t, I need you to respect that I don’t wish to or I need you to perhaps reflect and think “did I do enough to earn it?”. Despite all of this, we honestly would return again, just without the guilt-tripping optional service charge.

Went for a bottomless brunch on my birthday and it was fantastic. The best service I’ve ever experienced (big shoutout to Andrew and Dorie who were so wonderful). Our glasses never had the chance to empty before we had more drinks brought out. The food was amazing as well and I would definitely go back!

Albert's Schenke is such a nice bar. There's a staff member at the door to welcome you in and the setting and layout of the bar is excellent. They have lots of great beers on offer, from around the world and the UK. Prices are slightly higher than surrounding bars, but the service and quality of the beer make up for this. Our sever Kathryn was friendly and helpful and even though the bar was incredibly busy, she made sure we were looked after and had everything we needed.

Been many times before and was good if not a bit slow at the bar. Went today but the bar that was walk-ins, is now bookings only. A large change like that should be advertised on social media at least. I’ve no issue with being understaffed but let people know. I’d have booked well ahead if I’d known.

Very good and authentic food. After a long time in the UK it realy tastes like home. The atmosphere, exept the language, was close to a german restaurant. All service personal was outstanding friendly. The taste of the Schweinshaxen (currently not available) and the mushroom spätzle was so good, realy comparable to the german original.

Recommended by recommendations to try this place out, and what an atmosphere, open table fire, great buzz, very busy, booked a table online and got it all to myself which was Brill, even got a special seat ☺️. Sunday Roast was my agenda. I must point out, that normally I only review places that achieve for me 5 stars, however I have taken a dip on this one. Every aspect of Alberts, I so wanted to give it a 5 star and not forget it, but unfortunately one thing just didn’t come up to the same par as everything else. Starter of King Prawn Cocktail with smashed avocado could not fault it to the point I tried 2 different wines, a Grillo and a Pinot, to ensure I was fully appreciative. The Sunday roast of Cheshire Chicken, so good I cleaned the plate, just left the bone, which was commented on 😁. However the desert of Sticky Toffee Pudding, didn’t match the standard of all the rest. Yes, it may be me, as I like this type of pudding to be light and airy covered in sauce and ice cream. Unfortunately the light and airy I didn’t get, it was stodgy, blocky, the caramelised toffee sauce was spot on as was the ice-cream, but pudding was not there for me. I so wanted to give Albert’s Bavarian delight a 5 star, just struggled in the end. By the way the Weisserbier Erdinger so complimented my Roast and everything else I enjoyed to great levels. Please guys don’t be turned off by the 4 stars, it’s definitely a spot I would happily go back to, the next time maybe I’ll try the sorbet. Overall I think they are doing a great job, it’s my particular taste, I’m sure everyone else may really like that style of pudding, just not for me. Otherwise, keep powering on as it was a wonderful food, wine, beer experience 🤩

Took a group of 10 for Sunday Roast to Albert's Schenke (Hanover St, Liverpool) & was not disappointed. Service from Doreen was exceptional throughout our stay. She helped find the right meals for my guests who had a variety of dietary requirements. All the meals were excellent in quality, portion size & value. Well supported by a vast range of wines, draught beers & cocktails. Highly recommended.

I went there with my family for our day trip in Liverpool, and I booked our table through their website. The staff was welcoming. The environment was nice. The Sunday roasts were AMAZING! The roast beef was perfectly-cooked, the pork knuckle was huge and delicious, and everything was well-seasoned.

Came here for lunch on new years day. The service was great and the food even better. My wife had the vegan Wellington which she enjoyed. And I went for the schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) which I thoroughly enjoyed, after devouring it I then got sent straight into a food coma

We arrived for our meal at Albert Schenke and taken to our table. Once seated the manageress brought over two glasses of Prosecco for our Anniversary which I had mentioned on booking. The waitress was lovely and attentive. The Pretzel was delicious. Had the Pork Knuckle for main which was really tasty. When they cleared the table the Managress came back to our table to chat to us and then gave us some Raspberry and Salted Caramel shots. Could not fault the service. Thank you so much for making our Anniversary special.

Awesome!! Great selection of German style food & drink. Food includes pretzels, bratwurst, burgers & kebabs etc. A vast choice of larger & ales, they also do wine & cocktails. I'm vegan & had a few options to choose from, the dish I had was delicious. I was in a group of six & everyone really enjoyed the experience, staff were brilliant, lovely atmosphere & the food/drink was superb. Will definitely be back!!

Absolutely incredible Sunday Roast. Loved the size of the Yorkshire Pud. I had the chicken and my 2 companions had the beef. Couldn't fault it at all. Puddings went down well too, especially the salted caranel cheesecake. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would happily return.

Mixed feelings, food and drinks were amazing, tasted delicious and well presented but atmosphere wasn't really fitting for dinning like a special occasion date that we were on. The good bit: The food was delicious, we started off with pretzels, which were bigger than expected, hot and delicious, the accompanying mustard sauce was great as well. For mains we had the 'bohemian sausage plate' and the schweinshaxe. The sausages were really delicious and so was the sauce. The schweinshaxe, which is a roasted pork knuckle, was incredible. Be warned it is rather large but it's worth it, the meat is so tender and the crackling is perfect. Also we had to munich beers, which were really good. The bad bit: This is a restaurant and bar which we knew before going in, but we kinda expected it to feel separate, that wasn't really the case. About halfway through our meal, a group of about 16 lads sat on the table next to us, which was only for 8 people, notably knocking our drinks and food a few times while also being loud and intoxicated. In front of us a group of 8 tried to sit down with drinks, the management did ask them to move but that didn't stop the group hovering around our table and moving furniture for 5 minutes through our meal and accidentally elbowing my partner in the head on 2 occasions. I appreciate they told the 2nd group to move because people were eating around them, but why wasn't that applied to the 16 guys literally on top of us, and it was noticed as the bouncer came and had a word with the waitress about them. We decided to leave before dessert as it wasn't worth being crowded by drinkers. tl;dr: If you want to visit for good food, visit earlier or on a different day than we did, 8:30pm on a Saturday was clearly not a good idea. But the food and drinks are definitely worth visiting for. Or if you're visiting for drinks, clearly very welcoming with a large selection of beers available.

Stopped by this modern and inviting bar and restaurant one weekday for an early dinner and it was well worth it. I tried the specialty schweinshaxe which was a bit of a huge meat eaters feast and well worth it. The taste was satisfying with largely tender and juicy meat that was well coupled with the braised red cabbage, sweet apple sauce and generous gravy. The only thing I would have hoped for would be crispier skin as the skin was infused with sauce reducing pretty much all hope for crispiness. The Haus Scotch egg was also delicious, crispy on the outside filled with a slightly runny egg and meaty sausage. I'm not totally convinced about the acidic brown sauce accompanying the scotch egg, but the pickles were a nice addition. Service was fantastic. I was served by Dorrie who was so friendly and helpful and made the meal even more enjoyable.

< AN EXCEPTIONAL SUNDAY ROAST > The star of the show was the pork knuckle, which was cooked to perfection, tender on the inside and delightfully crispy on the outside. Paired with the amazing Yorkshire pudding and rich, flavorful gravy, it created a symphony of tastes and textures that left me thoroughly satisfied. What sets this restaurant apart is the fact that it's one of the few places in Liverpool that serves pork knuckle, making it a unique gem in the city's culinary scene. The attention to detail in each element of the dish was evident, from the carefully prepared sides to the presentation of the meal. The addition of sweet potato mash as part of the roast was a delightful surprise, adding a touch of sweetness and creaminess that perfectly complemented the roast. The combination of flavours, textures, and the perfectly complementing beer made for a delightful culinary adventure. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot to gather with friends and family for a leisurely Sunday feast. If you're in search of the perfect Sunday roast that includes a mouthwatering pork knuckle, delectable Yorkshire pudding, and a satisfying beer, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. The skill full execution of flavours, along with the inviting ambiance, creates an experience that captures the essence of a Sunday well spent.

Staff are attentive and efficient, little mix up with the steaks but we were a large party so its an easy mistake and they still both enjoyed their meal before any one of them had noticed. Drinks were served quickly at the bar and the atmosphere is always lovely here. The food was amazing, I have never had a bad experience. I used to eat here with my foreign friends when they come visit Liverpool for the full english breakfast. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. I would prefer to have the option of pork schnitzel instead of chicken, but nonetheless the food was great. We had bratwurst, pretzel, burger and schnitzel. One of the few German food restaurants on Liverpool, will visit again given the chance.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic restaurant where the food was nothing short of amazing. The ambiance of the place was delightful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service provided by our lovely waitress, Lucy. I highly recommend this place for not only its delectable dishes but also for the wonderful hospitality provided by Lucy. A truly delightful culinary experience!

I would like to reach out to the management/owners of this fine establishment to say that myself and my finances visist was so much enjoyed because of the excellent, spectacular, superb, outstanding, welcoming, friendly customer service of Stephen and Dorrine. These two employees made the night so e enjoyable and would be the main reason I would come again. We enjoyed it so much and despite the night being so busy - we still felt really well looked after. Popped in Saturday lunchtime ,welcomed by Scott, explained we only wanted a coffee and a beer, stupidly forgetting you have to order food now as well. Scott informed us what we could order food wise (We'd already ate)so enabling us to have our drinks. We'd told Scott we'd had a busy old morning as our daughter had just given birth and we were out baby shopping(again). Five minutes after our drinks arrived,Scott brought over 2 glasses of prosecco/champagne to toast our first grand child. I'd just like to say it was much appreciated and was a lovely touch in these tough times for the hospitality sector.

Fantastic place to go with the partner or with friends. Great food that have an authentic Bavarian feel. It was lovely to come to a restaurant that is passionate for Bavarian food after moving back to Liverpool from Munich recently! I have to say the Schweinshaxe was very tasty, but it isn’t the same as the authentic Bavarian style - it was more like a gammon, and the portion was the biggest I’ve ever seen of Schweinshaxe! The staff were wonderful, and they definitely enhanced our experience here. I highly recommend!

Booked bottomless brunch for joint Christmas and two birthdays, had such a great time! Food was boss, and the cappuccino I had was the best I've had in months. Atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, and the music was great. Amazing value for money. Service was amazing. Our server Scott was so genuinely friendly, attentive, and accommodating. All staff were wearing masks and cleaning regularly (tables had signs on to show which needed cleaning). Really recommend the mushroom pizza and espresso martinis, and will definitely be back. Thank you!

Great food, good selection of beers at a very reasonable price. Visit was made at a time of Covid restrictions, and bookings were required, capacity was reduced, tables/surfaces were being regularly cleaned & all in all the staff were highly professional. One of our party also has food allergies, and staff were very helpful and cooked their food separately to avoid any potential problems. A genuine 5 🌟

It was great to see how thorough the staff are at cleaning tables after each user. Keep up the good work - and to the people we witnessed all evening huff and puff when asked to wear a mask and track and trace...shame on you! (Callum you look like you have a lot of patience!!!)

Wanted to like it. Went in on a quiet Sunday afternoon, about 5 other tables in. Waited for 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge our existence after seating us, gave up and left. We liked: the signs indicating clean tables We didn't like: staff ambling around, chatting, and seemingly having no awareness of their customers. Won't rush back.
