Awesome place, such a good find. The guy was really nice as he gave us some spicy sauce on the side of our food which was delicious. The food is hearty and tasty, with generous portions for the price. There's a quirky interior upstairs too. Deffo recommend this place!

There is lots of choice in Spark so was unsure which place to pick at first but Tricolor offered a great gluten free selection. The lady behind the counter talked through the options with us and gave recommendations which was really helpful. Overall both the food and service was great and we will be coming back to try more from the menu!

Oh my. When I say I RAN to leave this review. Me and my partner were absolutely starving and we ordered from tricolor for the first time. The food was absolutely amazing, hot and delicious. The only way I can describe it is if you’re having a bad day and you go to mamas house and she cooks you up some comfort food. Well cooked tender perfectly seasoned food that gives a hug. The portion sizes are HUGE. You get your moneys worth for sure! Thank you so much, after a long, cold, difficult day it’s just made it that little bit easier. I think this is the best food we’ve both ever tasted. We’ll be back ❤️

Where do I start? The food was amazing. I got a pork arepa that was delicious! It does not look like a lot when they set it down on the table but it is very filling. I also got the savory plantain chips as a side. The building was charming, the workers friendly and helpful. I will definitely return

The absolute best place to eat in general in york! But if you are from Colombia this taste exactly how it should, I have being traveling around the world tasting so many Colombian food and this is the BEST one so far. I 100% recommend trying every option in this restaurant. The owners are even more beautiful, they have the best energy and they make you feel so welcome and happy. I love this place forever, you should eat here whenever you have the opportunity 🙏✨😬

We ha the XXL got dog and the arepas. The hot dog not so special but the Arepas was amazing. And the hogao sauce is a superb accompaniment.

The lady at the counter could not have been more welcoming and friendly, she recommended the Lula juice which was delicious and I had the Colombian chicken and rice with sweet plantain, great portion size and it was so tasty. I'll definitely be back to try everything else.

Extremely tasty and affordable! Right in the heart of downtown York. Service was top notch too. A member of our party with a gluten intolerance was able to eat here no problem and the staff explained all the items on the menu that he could eat. Highly recommend the cassava fries with sofrito sauce— the sauce is liquid gold. Our leftovers reheated exceptionally well the next day. Five stars!

Really delicious arepa with chorizo, came with a yummy salsa with a good level of spiciness. Super friendly people! The one thing I’d note is that I couldn’t tell really what sort of food Tricolor served just from looking at the storefront - which made me go closer to read the menu, but I don’t think everyone would do the same so some visual indication might be helpful. Overall, outstanding!

Great Arepas and Fantastic Empeñadas, I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. The atmosphere is nice and the lady who served me was lovely.

This place has the most tastiest food. Had the crispy plantain with a side of the most delicious side to dip it in and then Arepas with the chorizo filling which was so filling and the flavours were immense, especially this little side of spice onion.

The most delicious Columbian food I've ever had. The three of us kept trying each others dishes because everything there was so beautifully prepared and made with love. The lady who runs it is really friendly and will happily have a chat with you about her culture, the food and everything that goes into making it. I would, no I will be coming back to York for her food. I'd recommend the chicken rice.

Worst churros ever might need a dentist to fix a chilled tooth after eating these rock hard things.......(edit) well the churros is all I had and this goes as far as to the worst overcooked churros I've ever had , I could only eat one of them ...it's not about taste and texture they probably would have been perfect if the the person cooking them simply didn't cremate them .

A must visit! We had chicken rice with plantain and pork rice and they were scrumptious. The portion sizes are so generous and the owners are lovely.

Delicious Colombian street food - the pork arepas never disappoint. This time I also tried the lechona, which was amazing and quite filling. Really friendly service. Only slight issue (not for me) is that there are no alcoholic beverages available.

Packs a huge punch for a small location. The food was incredible, so full of flavour! Already planning a return visit next time we're in York.

This place is great, lovely staff and absolutely delicious food. As someone who has a wheat allergy, almost all their food is gluten free, which is perfect for me & it’s a lovely place for a quick bit, full of columbian character!

Amazing place for arepas and empanadas in the UK! We had the pulled pork with cheese arepas, beef empanadas, and the pulled pork fries (chips). It’s a Colombian restaurant with seating on the second floor. Can’t recommend it enough!

Great food, and lots of it. Lechona and Veggie rice were really tasty, and the portions were a decent size. Very filling! Will definitely be back!

This is a lovely place to have a quick lunch or a quick snack when going around town. We had the empanadas and the bacon and cheese arepa. Both gluten free, which is great when one of the group has food restrictions and you don't feel like making a compromise. The food was excellent, made on the spot and the wait was very short. The upstairs are nice with a colombian theme. Enjoy.

Literally the nicest dudes ever, always feel like they're family when i go here. Genuine family business with the best food and the biggest hearts ❤️ Never catch the names of the young guys who work there but they're the sweetest. Wish them all the best with their business.

Fantastic, delicious piping hot food! Full of flavour and fresh. Wonderful quick table service with a smile. A great local independent food outlet in the heart of York City centre. Our second visit was just as good as our first. We will be back.

Absolutely delicious food and lovely staff. The fact that it has a lot of gluten free options is a big bonus as well.

I ordered the Colombian rice with chicken. It came with plantains. The taste was fresh, well spiced and absolutely delicious. Delivery driver was really nice as well. I have found a new favourite restaurant. So glad I tried them out.

I really like Tricolor, and can recommend the rice dishes. They’re really filling and flavourful. The chicken empanadas are a firm favourite; beef is okay but has the texture of corned beef. Plantain is excellent. The only dish I can’t recommend is the fried cavassa. It’s bland and dry. The sofrito sauce is lovely, balanced, and bright, but doesn’t cut the dry, powdery texture of the cavassa.

I went with some friends to visit York and we were excited to see that there was Colombian food . Unfortunately the food is terrible, we ordered some beef empanadas which were more unpeeled potatoes than meat and it was sour, they are not fresh at all… We also ordered Lechona and it definitely didn't taste like lechona just pork and rice. Really disappointed, they should represent our gastronomy better….

Really friendly and nice Columbian chef with his dad. I was curious to taste it and ordered a chilli con carne (beef chilli). Freshly cooked and very filling as it has a lot of red beans and well worth the 7.5 pounds. The sauce was rich and not too overwhelming, greating to eat with the rice and the bread they serve with. Only minor point is that the amount of rice is too little. The rice is perfect with the beef chilli but unfortunately not enough to finish with all the sauce. Would be nice if they have an option to refill rice for an extra cost.

Fantastic chicken arepas and cassava fries. Being latino, and having lived in Colombia, I can assert that this food is authentic and a breath of fresh air from the fake latin food options that plague many regions of the UK. Lady who works there is super nice, welcoming and frankly, reminds me of my mother and grandmother. The prices are also great. As of the time of this review, you can get a chicken arepa for £5.50 at the stall in Spark. Would absolutely recommend.
