Was very excited for slim chickens to open in my home town (Wolverhampton) as I visit the restaurant in cannock and Birmingham. However when I’ve ordered my food today this is exactly how it came to me. I am very disappointed. It looks like I’ve been given leftovers. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Beyond substandard, inferior, unsatisfactory, appallingly unacceptable even as a dog's diner, yet ridiculously overpriced. Not even these words sufficiently describe this dross establishment that replaced a perfectly thriving café. Someone on this thread described The Restaurant Hub as a Wish version of food service, and I couldn't agree more. AVOID AT ALL COSTS (Emphasis on the word 'costs'), even if your life depends on it, and if you're visiting on a lunch break, God help you. I've been twice, but never again. The first time was when I waited ages for microscopic chicken wings; I should have gone to KFC. Two weeks ago I gave the restaurant another chance and ordered a burger and fries. 30 minutes later, I still hadn't been fed. I noticed a long queue at the counter, and as a former food service worker myself I understand being short-staffed, but I was there first. My burger was sitting under the lights in full view, and not one person cared to leave the counter for one minute and serve me? Ten more minutes later, I approached them and collected my food myself, and not one person apologised. Not one. To think I wasted money on a cold burger that failed to meet usual standards. I could have visited F&B's; yes, their waiting times are equally long, but at least they know how to respect customers. Same with the old Sainsbury's café. I've eaten Gourmet Burger before, and I know what to expect. This wasn't it. I'll never, EVER, visit again unless a new broom drags itself in to sweep that horrible place. Better yet, bring back the old Sainsbury's café. PS - The only reason I'm giving one star is because this thread doesn't allow a -10, 567.

This is the second time I’ve tried to come to the restaurant hub. The first time, the staff at carluccio had all the sandwiches out of the fridge and just stacked on the counter, which surely is a way to give everyone food poisoning Today they gave our order to someone else who picked it up and realised it was wrong, so the staff tried to just give us that order. Yep, the order that someone else has touched. Nice! The £2.50 large portion of chips that arrived shortly after the second hand Toastie was literally a dozen chips. Chaotic, overpriced, unfriendly.

Called here for a quick coffee whilst in the city centre. Considering this used to be the Sainsburys Cafe, it hasn't really changed too much and seems a little soulless. The coffee and the brownie were very tasty and enjoyable. The staff, on the other hand, didn't seem like they wanted to be there, and we were a bit of an inconvenience. Everything seemed a little strained dealing with the public! I'll probably call here again and try something to eat.

Dull food, you would expect to get at a roadside burger van. Meat quality was ok but underwhelming for the price. The bland service of the staff reflected in the experience of its junk food rather than fast food. As an extension of services attached to Sainsbury's, waitrose does a far better cafe. And to have no napkins available is just poor management.

Came here for Slim Chickens a few weeks ago. They didn't accept Slim Chickens vouchers off app so bear that in mind. But the service was brilliant. We went around 6pm. It wasn't too busy but busy enough. Got served after a few minutes, ordered what we wanted. Were advised coffee machine was broken. Ordered and had tea instead to drink and Fanta. Food came out in about 5 or 10 minutes to the table which was brill. Told them the tea pot was leaking everywhere and she said it's happened often and brought over the better tea pots they had. Excellent customer service. Food was lovely. Would definitely come back.

I went to the Restaurant Hub for a quick lunch this afternoon and I ordered a Avo bacon burger with extra American cheese , fries and a coke. My burger took 15 minutes to get ready, and came with no cheese, I went to the counter and the guys told me to wait an extra 5 min as they would put some cheese and get it back to me. The burger came back cold with extra cold cheese, I had to explain this to a couple of staff members and they looked at me like I was being very demanding. Then I asked for a refund as I was hungry and wanted to get some food somewhere else, it was very annoying. Fortunately ANNA(kitchen manager) took over and told me "I am gonna make a fresh burger for you" as she was on her break. The burger was very good but I wish you guys a lot of luck if Anna is in holidays or on a day off.

Came here on Sunday. Ordered at caffe Carluccio's. There is a breakfast deal showing sandwich and hot drink for £4.95 but only till 1030am although they open at 11 on Sundays the deal is still showing but they can't serve it. I thought fair enough I will get the one with Pastry which doesn't say any time or day that it has to be ordered - they said that I can't have it because its only Monday - Friday but doesn't say on the screen. Asked for hot chocolate for my daughter, they said they don't have any but then another lady said she can make it. Finally sat down to eat and when the hot "chocolate" cooled down and we had a taste it was bitter cocoa powder and milk for £2.95. I went back to get refund. We tried to get her milkshake from slim chickens menu instead but unfortunately they had none. The staff here seems like they haven't been trained properly and all the deals on the screens are misleading. No wonder the place was empty. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 as my croissant was nice but wouldn't make me to come back. *****Shame I can't reply to your reply dear owner. We were there at about 11.45, why is machine being cleaned just after it's been opened for service I don't know. But I would have thought it would be done just before opening but never mind.... thanks for your reply anyway

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent experience I had at this restaurant. Unfortunately, my latest visit was marred by cold food, missing sides poor service, and a poor attitude from the manager. The service was slow, and I had to wait a long time for my order to be taken. When the food finally arrived, it was cold and unappetizing, missing sides for which I paid extra. To make matters worse, when I complained to the manager about the cold food and poor service and missing sides she was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. She refused to apologize and made it clear that she did not care about my dissatisfaction. This kind of poor service and attitude is unacceptable in any restaurant, as a paying customer, I expect a certain level of quality and service, which unfortunately was not met during my visit.

Diabolical. Ordered a full English Breakfast a Beyond Burger & fries + 2 coffee - Well over £30! £12.50 Burger with no fries! had to order them as an extra! Coffee no soya milk, this is Sainsburys Supermarket! (no soya) Only a couple of other people were seated & waiting for food, we were told it would all be brought over to the table. We waited over 35 minutes for our food & drinks. I actually had to go and ask if that was our food behind the counter waiting, oh yes I think it is the guy said. I asked if the Breakfast should have toast & was told he would bring that over in a bit. When that arrived it was dry toast with no butter. I went & asked for butter only to be told we don't have any but I will see if I can get you some from the back. 10 mins later a large block of frozen butter arrived which I couldn't spread. I then had to ask if we could please have our coffees. We got everything eventually but not a good 1st experience of this food hub. Poor Service. Cold food. Overpriced food for what is just a cafe experience.

The burger looked great in the photo. But what I got was a very sad burger cooked and served by some very sad people. 😔 This placed sucked all my Christmas sprit away and it cost me £12. The meat was sooooo dry I'm beginning to suspect it was made from saw dust. just really bad.

A few months back I visited and to be honest I wasn't going to ever return due to poor quality food and when we questioned it we had to justify quality of food to rude members of staff who I believed to be supervisors !!! Reluctantly yesterday met with friends and they said give it another try !! Well food not up to much to be honest but "The lady that served us made up for that !!! I believe her name Lorraine! Her politeness & funny sense of humour more than made up for the food ! All il say is the company should employ more like her she is a credit to the company ! ! A perfect start to the evening !! Which ended in a perfect nite with United winning at Wolves! ! Hope this review doesn't offend locals ! Thanks again Lorraine for yr politeness charm & sense of humor!

Good looking restaurant BUT very cold inside due to aircon, service was terrible (3 ladies at the counter chatting and we’re waiting to order no one asked or looked at us!) long wait for a very small portion of English breakfast that had no taste! This is my first and last time at this place! Terrible food and service

Ordered a bacon sandwich. The bacon was overcooked, dry and sad looking. The waitress who brought over the food just dropped it onto the table without even checking who the order was for. Don't waste your money

Very disappointing first experience at 14:20 on a Wednesday. Won’t return. No white sugar for tea. No tea. No toasties or ability to make one. Sandwich that was purchased was not good. Service was lacklustre and seemed to not want to be there.

Very disappointing. Had to clear and disinfect table. Sandwiches poor value, tuna OK but single slice of bacon in BLT so thin could be mistaken for Parma ham! Not all order brought together, chips arrived on a plate instead in a bowl so quickly went cold. Staff pleasant but service very slow.

Went to the restaurant today, asked for beans instead if mushy peas, said had to ask manager first though,???? Why??? Not everyone likes mushy peas. Then asked for the red sauce sachets, said got none, so went to get some from inside sainsbury's, I had ordered tea so asked where the sugar was said only got canderal as waiting for order to be delivered. Said I will have a refund for the tea then and they said I was being rude!!! Then I gave them the tea back but had to wait for manager to do the refund, then someone came out with 4 sachets of sugar!!!! Oh dear not good customer service really. I don't feel bad for asking for these items as its normal, why don't they order stuff when they are low on sugars/sauces.

Ordered food on entry at automated stand, two breakfasts. Couldn't find how to order drinks so paid at machine and ordered drinks at counter. The staff were more confused than us. No one appeared to know what to do. Food arrived after 10 minutes, cold. Bacon paper thin American style. Not a patch on the old sainsburys restaurant. Would not use again. I'd give no stars but staff pleasant but as stated as confused as every other customer appeared to be.

Appalling is sadly the only word for our experience. After an early morning hospital appointment we thought we'd try this venue. Greeted with "we can't do hot drinks yet we've got no milk". Ordered 2 breakfasts at 08:24 with 2 decaff tea. The tea plus cutlery arrived but by 09:05 we still hadn't seen our breakfasts but another customer who came in well after us had so I checked with the staff. Apparently a "system error" meant our order had not left the counter where we had ordered it. 2 breakfasts finally arrived just SHORT of an hour after our receipt time. Plates were barely warm and most of the food was cold. Complained once we could get attention from the staff and although originally offered a refund this was rescinded by the manager " because the food had been eaten". We had to eat as we were running out of time. The manager sent a message to say if we left our details we could have a complimentary breakfast each next time. THERE WILL NOT BE A NEXT TIME!

Very unhappy with the level of service. My daughter has a dairy allergy, so we have to be careful what we give her. Last time we came we was told that the fish goujons was dairy free so we had those. We then came this weekend after we did our shopping. We were told that the fish goujons do contain dairy. Which we wasn't happy about. We decided to order her a veg burger. Mine and my husband's food came, we slowly ate ours as we waited for our daughters food to come. Her food finally showed up 10-15 mins after ours did. One look at it made me realise she isn't going to eat the veg burger. It was overcooked. It was very dry and tasted bland and burnt. So we ended up paying £6 for her to eat a few fries which was also overdone. Very angry and frustrated, definitely will not be going again.

The old Sainsburys cafe was much more fit for purpose. Staff seemed indifferent to our concern which was that a pot of clotted cream was so crystallised that it broke into lumps and destroyed a scone when attempting to spread. The answer from the member of staff was that several had been sold earlier and no one had complained…. Unbelievable!! Bring back the old cafe please in the interests of customer care. Also, no offer was made to reimburse the 45p for the cream - we will not be using the Restaurant Hub again.

Ordered Slim Chickens from ‘The Restaurant Hub’. Firstly most items were out of stock & they didn't even have any cups for the bottomless drinks. Nor where they in any rush to fill it back up. They then ran out of milkshake straws. The front of house staff seemed very clueless. There was no manager leading & it looked like a very stressful environment as they didn't know how to work the tills. Training was either not given or given at a very poor standard. One employee was very rude to a male that was deaf, got frustrated and walked away. Another was pulling fed up faces & just looked annoyed. She was also coughing over the milkshakes as she was making them. The food came out cold. You couldn't upgrade the chips to a large like you can at other sites. When eating the chicken wings they were burnt to a crisp with no sauce on them, like you get at other sites. The burger was soggy and smashed together & the chicken strips were spongey/ chewy. At the time i ordered 18:40, the Hub wasn't even busy. God help them when they get a rush hour. 1 star is generous. Only as it wont let me put lower. All staff serve all parts of the hub which doesn't help either. Save yourself and take the journey to Birmingham or Cannock. -10/10

Ordered the bacon & cheese GBK burger with skinny fries and the slim chicken tenders. Waited 40 minutes for food although the restaurant was not busy. The burger came out followed shortly after by the fries and then a few minutes later by the tenders. The burger came out with bacon and cheese on but no sauce or pickles. The bun was charred which left an overwhelming taste of charcoal in my mouth. Luckily my son had honey bbq sauce from slim chickens which helped salvage the burger. The fries were not very appetising, overall not a patch on the food Ive had at any other GBK and it does not deserve their branding. I won’t be returning. I did show my burger to the lady who served me who confirmed it should have sauce etc on top and requested she take it up with the chef but received no feedback from any staff before I left.

The atmosphere is nice and cosy with plenty of tables and a nice view to the City but the service is terrible. Tables are always dirty, there are no tissues and spoons (they come dirty as well so better bring your own). I always tell staff what they are supposed to do without me telling them like : can I have a tissue, a spoon, sugar. It's a good place but servicing is terrible.
