❗ Escargot DELICIOUS! So flavorful with fresh herbs, philo dough and great texture! Warm brie, very creamy and light. The biggest lamb shanks we've ever seen! Steak was on point and the white chocolate bread pudding was also amazing. Staff was attentive, fast and super friendly.

The drinks are amazing. The bar tender is kind and his recommendations were very helpful, he was kind and flexible and took time to help us. The fondue was smaller than expected for the price but we still left very happy.

We were really excited to find a wine bar in the area and the menu looked great! But when we got there, we got a little concerned about the very “old-person” feeling of the menus and signage, but stuck it out thinking they just needed better branding. And then we ordered. The food was less than sub par and WAY too expensive for what you’re getting. They somehow even made mussels taste bad. The only saving Grace is that they couldn’t screw up the wine.

Loved the great service here. We had the duck breast and salmon with the deviled eggs. Everything was great. Only critic was the duck confit in the deviled eggs. I thought that overpowered the eggs.

Great friendly vibe in the outside area , quieter inside for private conversation. Menu was extensive as Carlos our waiter was attentive and efficient. Bruschetta was great . My friends ordered lamb rack which was huge , shrimp and andouille pasta , monkfish and I had lobster fritters with a salad beautifully presented. Great night we all thoroughly enjoyed the food etc but the very loud annoying drunk woman at a nearby table was a little annoying. Should have been handled quietly by the Restaurant rather then raining on 50 peoples dinners. We ordered a cone of silence for her ! We will be back though !

Wine flights were excellent choices. Very good decent quality choices. Highly recommended the lamb meatballs, very savory flavors and a mix of sweetness and freshness from the cilantro cream. Duck breast was cooked perfectly and well paired with the quinoa and sauce.

The food is consistently great and the staff is always on point. Much better than most comparable restaurants in DC, at a lower price point. The lobster fritters and the creme brulee are both amazing.

Amazing dinner with excellent wine options. Rack of Lamb, french onion soup, and steak were delicious. Can't beat the awesome $5 happy hour specials on drinks and small bites. Service was good; although, expected more info on the wine and recommendations from the server since this is a wine bar. I would also skip the dessert. Tried the Apple tart and Molten Chocolate. They looked great, but just ok in taste.

The food is reliable and generally pretty good, but not extraordinary. The main reason to come here is the wine/drinks list and the lovely shared outdoor courtyard area with the fountain. They also have a good lunch prix fixe deal.

This is a good, pretty inexpensive European-style bistro, with a decent beer and wine selection and a good selection of light plates. The outdoor dining area is very pleasant when the weather is right, and is mostly shaded by the tall buildings surrounding the area and is also lined by small trees. The indoor seating used to be a bit problematic: you'd end up smelling like the food because the seating area was so small! They've moved to a larger space now, so I doubt that's a problem. The service is generally good and helpful, although I had to remind them to bring my draft beer the last time I went. I didn't try these myself, but the menu has a fair number of European dishes that aren't that common here: frog legs, snails, duck and so on. My dining companion tried these and liked them very much. The pictures shown are of deviled eggs, baked brie, potato gnocchi, duck strudel, escargot, and frog legs.

Great spot in ballston for delicious cuisine. The food was tasty, but I mostly enjoyed the fun themed wine flights. Their diverse selection is used well to create fun tastings with dinner. The dining room is visually appealing and the service was great. Looking forward to going back.

Perfect place for our Girls Night. I was looking for a chic, cute place with a cozy atmosphere, and this restaurant brought it all. We both ordered the Chilean Wine Flight which the glasses were generously filled, the Cheese Fondue and the French Onion Soup which was DIVINE. 5 out of 5 stars, will definitely be returning!

After reading the reviews and looking at the menu my husband and I dined here. We were very pleased with the food, wine, service, and ambience. Erick welcomed us and gave us our choice for seating. He is the host/bartender/public relations person. I had the duck and my husband the short ribs...both were delicious. We ate at a high top table in the bar area. The view to the outside was nice. Overall we felt welcomed and special at this wonderful bistro!

Nice place to go in person for drinks. Tried to order delivery, though, just to place my order and have it canceled 10 minutes later. Not sure why management is allowing for delivery orders if they can't meet the demand. Obviously, can't speak to the quality of the food.

Hidden gem in Ballston! Great wine selection and the menu is extensive for a wine bar. It’s actually a full French bistro and more!

Went here for the first time since covid. Food was very good and the service was outstanding. Great wine selection. Recommend the lobster fritters appetizer.

We loved this restaurant for date night. The location is great, right in the middle of Ballston. Service was awesome. Everyone from the greeter, to the server, to the bussers were friendly and helpful without being over the top. The food was great and tasted great. The atmosphere was congenial and up beat without being overpowering. I highly recommend Grand Cru.

For the cost, the food is OK. Some waiters and waitresses were very nice, one guy was OK. They do have a big wine list and are walking distance from a lot of apartment buildings.

I pick Grand Cru over world of beer across the street, and Oh man, the Parisian Steak and Frites were just a thing a beauty. Just delicious!! The inside of the restaurant looked very nice, but unfortunately, it was just take out for me. Highly recommend. A++

We really like this place. We bring my elderly mom, and used to bring dad, and the staff has always been outstanding, from the operatic server to the kindest dog lover, they have always taken great care of my parents. A new highlight is the lobster risotto. A small dish but wow! Super yum. Steak fritte never disappoints, scallops are never over cooked but always moist, roast chicken which I rarely order at a restaurant was excellent, herbs with a delicious browned but not burnt skin. Mac and cheese? A wonderful indulgence, lamb shank… outstanding. The salads are full of care and nice touches, a little pricy but nice to share. This place has an amazing wine selection. I’ll need to come back. Wouldn’t mind going through the reds one at a time. Outdoor seating by a fountain is lovely. The gf selections are all good. If splurging, try the chocolate tort, covered in dark chocolate sauce, enough for 3-4.

Was staying in a hotel around the corner from the Grand Cru in mid-August. I was greeted warmly at the front and offered my choice of seating. They have outdoor tables, but I ate inside. Not being a wine drinker, I came for the Gluten Free food as they have many choices. I liked the salmon dinner I had the first time, so I came back again for the duck. The soups I had were fabulous as well. My attentive server Erick made sure I enjoyed my meal. If I visit Arlington again I will surely come back.

Can’t imagine anyone would not enjoy the atmosphere, food, service, and wine/ beverages. My wife and I had a fantastic meal and evening: She enjoyed a reasonably priced wine flight while I had a “ Perfect Manhattan”. We split a cheese board appetizer and the roasted chicken breast entree. We finished the evening with our own desserts and perfectly brewed coffee and port. The total bill was three times less than what we have spent for much lessers meals and experiences.
