Went as a walk in haven't been feeling good for over a week and really needed to get better nurse and nurse practitioner no communication skills didnt care to listen to me just love hearing themselves talk. Worse experience with the va i ever had will not be going back im working on getting transferred i will never go back i never want to see those people again i use to defend the va now ill just keep my mouth shut clearly i didn't have a clue.

Been coming to this VA location since it opened several years ago. I followed Dr. Tran my Dr of over 10 years here from the Piedras VA, even though I live On the West side and this is further me, I wanted to stay with Dr Tran. Unfortunately Dr Tran passed away a couple of years ago, and then Dr Asobo became my Dr. And chose again to stay here, because they attend to me very fast, and hardly spend anything waiting to get service. They attend to you even when you need to walk-in. Trying to get someone to answer the phone was a problem in the pass, but they have improved that 100%. They don’t have all the services here, like x-ray or the eye clinic, but it’s still a nice place to get attended fast.

This place is HORRIBLE!!! Dr. Porras is so rude and unprofessional!! A veteran goes in to his appointment and leaves feeling belittled and insulted!! NO WONDER VETERANS ARE DOING CRAZY STUFF WITH THESE WORTHLESS DOCTORS!

Deserves a negative 3 star review nothing has been resolved at this va just sent out to community care where you jump through hoops. After that come back to va to continue the process. Also I had an appointment there at 830 but the power was out. That’s understandable it happens but calling me after my appointment time after I had already left and saw for myself to tell me was stupid. Then not offering a new appointment and saying someone else is supposed to call to reschedule. That was over 3 weeks ago so I call them response is “we have an opening just over 3 months out” thanks a lot that helps a great deal. Original appointment was 6 months out.

Just got off the phone with Ishmal not sure if I spelled that right he was super rude, very unprofessional and on top of that sarcastic all I wanted to do was to see if there was different date or time I could reschedule an appointment. What a shame the people you have working to care for our veterans.

I would rate the El Paso VA a 3.5 out of 5. For the most part I have received good care at the VA. Most employees have been helpful and kind except for some rotten apples that lack compassion and knowledge in treating patients/veterans with dignity and respect. The reason I don’t think it should receive the full 5 points is due to an experience I had. Today I ran into a very rude employee at your East side clinic who would not stop lecturing me and towards the end was very insulting. This all happened in the elevator and in the hallway leading up to the VA clinic where he shouted at me. To me being a pregnant woman, I felt cornered and powerless to get away or to say anything.

This place is to busy. They say they can take walk-ins Appointments but in reality they look to busy. So they will send you to a Urgent Care Clinic where you have to pay a co-pay. Trying to set up an appointment? Good luck 8 months if you lucky to get one.

Doctors and Nurses are GTG. Front area staff does what they want when they want.

very incompetent staff , I guess they never had to process a referral from another DR. Grace the head nurse from my team is useless and NEVER calls back .Its very apparent that they can not handle anything that is not scheduled. VERY INEPT staff ...

I didn't have problems until Covid started. Now they don't want to see me in person. My Dr. left last year and I wasn't reassigned another primary until sometime this year. I haven't gotten my prescriptions refilled without a fight and one of them they keep refusing to fill. Just seems like they only care about the patients with severe health problems now.

Usually helpful, has been better lately, so hopefully that continues

Was waiting for 30min for someone to answer and after 30min someone answered and said hello and didn’t give a chance to respond and hanged up. No wonder veterans don’t look for help. You try calling but no one answers

Behavioral health realized they misdiagnosed my depression. They thought it was from my PTSD however it was due to being bipolar as well. They said they were going to send me to a civilian doctor better suited to help. This was after I confronted the doctor for canceling an appointment with me, the doc stating there was a veteran who needed him more.... I told him "I wonder how it is to play god and decide whos mental healh should come first"... being i had been waiting months for that appointment... That was over a year ago today.I have been fighting my own personal hell with no help from the va behavioral health at the east side. And go figure my yearly appointment with my primary was canceled as well because my doctor was on rapid response team at main va. No wonder veterans are killing themselves.

Disappointingly long wait for blood draw! More than 35 minutes, & then only because I asked! Somebody needs to look at scheduling.
