Place is very vibrant. We went there as we arrived late into Quebec and their kitchen is open until midnite (on Sundays at least) Really good drinks menu, the place is primarily a bar. Food was good, but the waiter messed up our order and gave us beef tartare instead of a burger. The tartare was great and tasty, but not what we had ordered and the waiter didn't seem to care.

We dined there on a weekend night and atmosphere was electric. It’s a trendy place and looks great from outside. There are many tables in the outside patio dining space. It also has huge indoor dining space. Restaurant was packed, and felt like a happening place with music inside. Food was good, service was great even when packed.

Had high expectations once we stepped inside.. very good decor and ambience, server was friendly and engaging and menu seemed appetizing. However for the price you pay the quality of the meal was sub par. Oysters were served without proper cutlery or sauces. No napkins or side dishes provided. Got the wrong order twice but server was kind enough to adjust it though. Had tartare and a chicken dish between the three of us and neither hit the sweet spot. Cocktails were nothing special for the price. As a summary you get a chain restaurant experience while paying for a high end place.

Good selection of wine list but also lots of cocktails. Table d'hote is a great option to enjoy and sample the menu. We had boeuf fondant, which I didn't really care for, but creviche was light and refreshing. Classic boeuf tartare was simple and tasty. I really enjoyed my meal and would come back.

This is a happening place on the Grande Allee with large patio outside and lots of seating inside. This place is popular and staff are experienced with crowds. We ordered burgers and while the wait was a bit due to how busy the place was, the food came out hot and the burger was delicious.

After arriving late in Quebec City with my family, we were looking around for a dinner option and opted for L'Atlelier as it was the busiest of the restaurants on the Grand Allee. Two of the three items ordered, the chicken fajitas and nachos were below average, with a low quality American cheese and a 'chilli' that didn't bear much resemblance. A tartare was pretty good, but for a medium sized portion, felt exorbitant at $32. We also ordered a pitcher of drinks, and they were okay. Overall, L'Atelier definitely feels like a drinks first resto-bar, but with high end pricing for the food, it was well below expectations.

I visited during the festival d'été de Québec 2022. The place was somewhat busy, but not overly so. I told the waiter I'm vegetarian and asked about the mac& cheese, and he said it "probably" contained meat (it didn't) but that he didn't really know for sure. I ordered the veggie burger but got a chicken burger instead. I knew what it was after I took a big bite. I called him back, he took it away and brought me an undercooked soggy veggie burger after over 30 minutes when everyone I was with were done eating. He apologized for the wait but never offered a discount or anything. I paid the full price while promising myself I would never eat there ever again. There's a lot of much better restaurants on Grande Allée.

Excellent dining experience, waiters were polite and friendly, food was amazing and company was incredible. My girlfriend and I had the cheese burgers, as I said they were amazing. The "sauce maison" was to die for and the cheese on the generous meat patty was a very good old cheddar. The fries were perfectly prepared and salted. The only downside was the price, but it's to be expected with such a high quality restaurant.

Nice menu, really good food. Service was fine but far from Excellent. The look and feel of the restaurant is trendy/ slightly upscale. Overall a good place to sample tartare, ceviche, or even burgers!

I loved the place, great food, great service and nice setup outdoors. I ordered Burrata as a startet, short ribs for main and crème brûlée as dessert, coupled with red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon), a magical combination. I strongly recommend this place.

Drinks were fantastic, girlfriend loved the oyster shots. The truffle mac and cheese was to DIE FOR. Would drive from NYC again just to have that!

The food was delicious, although 14 dollars for 4 bites of macaroni and cheese was a bit steep. The bison tartare was excellent.

We had lunch there and really enjoyed the restaurant. We stayed outside and it was a lovely day. I had a beef tartare and my husband a cheeseburguer. As for the desert, the churros was a great surprise. Very soft and paired well with the chocolate and salted caramel sauces. I gave 4 stars for the food because my beef tartare was good but tasted average, nothing remarkable. The service was good and fast. They do have many tables outside and we were able to get one without waiting. They also do have many tables inside. Washroom was unisex and felt too dark for me, but it was clean. I’d definitely come back here another time.

It was a very nice place, easy to get seated and the food I tried was very good. The atmosphere was lively, but not too noisy, which is how I prefer it. The staff were very friendly with recommendations about the city and also switched to English with no issue. The menu was also available in English for those of us visiting from abroad who cannot speak French.

Went last night with family and had a decent service. Wife and kids requested to dine at the restaurant on second night.. kids excited about their meals from the previous night and we (Wife and I) thought of ordering our favourite bottle of wine. However, the MANAGER refused service!! Saying their are NO tables, and the wait is at least an hour.. and he repeated the same a few times. Just because he did not want to have kids on the patio. Just because he assumed that we will not be ordering enough food/Drinks! Even After requesting multiple times, that kids insisting on dining at this establishment, he kept on going, faking how busy the restaurant is. But Letting other tables of 4 walk in and seated within 5 minutes. He said other tables are reserved, but hostess clarified they don’t take any reservations at all! Well, we went to adjoining establishment.. your loss, their gain $250 bill.. 2 adults + 2 kids! Really, understood you want to maximize revenue; but this is NOT how you deal and treat families with kids!

We didn’t have any food, but the drinks were good. Was crowded in a good way. I will def be back.

Fantastic oysters and their salmon and beef tartar were so delicious! My fiancé and I picked this place because we don't drink alcohol and it's the only restaurant we've seen to have a non-alcoholic menu section with actual beers and fun mocktails 🙂 Well done! We will be back for sure

Waited over 30 minutes to be served the drinks we had ordered. Multiple tables that were seated way after us received their food and drinks before we were even given our drinks. When we received our drinks they were very subpar. I had asked for a sub of grey goose vodka in my drink and was charged for a extra shot of grey goose in my drink when I’m pretty positive my drink did not even contain any alcohol. Would not recommend to anyone. The vibe is great, but you do not get what you pay for at all.

Busy spot on a Saturday night! Live DJ, fully packed restaurant. Food was very good and they had a great drink selection as well.

Great food with a lively atmosphere to have drinks. Truffle Mac and cheese, chicken burger and fries were mouth watering. It is the same owner as Ophelia’s, but I would say the food is actually better than its higher end counter part oddly enough.

Had a fantastic experience at L’Atelier! Fun decor, open late, and delicious menu. We had the braised short rib (was perfect!), the truffle mac and cheese (nice flavour but could have been a touch creamier), and the bison tartare (we both agreed it was the best tartare we’d ever had). Finished with their take on tarte tatin which was an unexpected presentation but very good. Good drinks and GREAT service. Loved exploring the area after dinner as well.

The drinks were on point and the food was quite delicious. The salmon tartar was very good and the veal short ribs melted off the bone. The atmosphere was energetic and was somewhere I could spend the whole night. To top it off our waiter, Pascal, was absolutely amazing, and would single handedly go back just to have him as our waiter again.

I went there with my girlfriend during Winter. Parking is not available after 9pm so we parked 5 mins walk away which was recommended by the friendly staffs. The vibe was quiet and cozy because we went there on a weekday after a major carnival. The food in general was awesome. We ordered the truffle mac and cheese, bison tartar and the steak. The mac and cheese looks small but you won’t be disappointed about it’s flavour. It was rich, super creamy and strong on the truffle. The bison tartar was mixed with onions, shallots, cheese which went super well with the meat. The steak was a bit overcooked and dry though. Overall, it was a great dinning experience and their tartar is definitely your go-to.

service was amazing, but food could’ve been better for the price. ordered a steak medium rare and it was definitely well done. the poutine appetizer was amazing, and they said they had 2 options for rose but only had the one. great selection of other wines though.

Excellent. Been now twice at the restaurant, its perfect. Excellent steak tartar with good wine and a great ambiance. One of the best in Quebec.

It was ok. Service was good. The ambience is nice and they have a heated terrace. We came for the mac and cheese as we were told it was one of the best in Quebec city and were very disappointed. Expensive, small portions, and very dry. The taste was bland. I would encourage the restaurant to add more sauce, maybe some onions, garlic, and more seasoning. We also had the brownie and it was miniscule...

For a Friday night it was a bad experience. Service slow and not warm the hostess, waiter all seems hate the job. I do not recommend and I will not come back 10 dollars fora a bottle of beer!

A place for dinner, then drink and party. Great night time vibe with good DJ and crowd. Not sure how the food is. Heard its good. Odd stickiness to the ground level floor, forcing our group to stay at the upstairs bar. Have a good time!

Atmosphere was pretty cool. We were crammed in like sardines. Even pre-covid times it was a little too tight. Server wearing mask below her mouth was a little off putting. Also, her drinking with table next to us seemed pretty unprofessional Tartars and cocktails were amazing. For a cocktail bar, only having one bartender and having to wait 30 mins for drinks was a little frustrating. Burgers were not homemade. You could tell it was a frozen patty as it was overcooked and lacking flavour. I would recommend going there for tartars and drinks only

Started with some very tasty cocktails, followed with excellent food! The beef tartar was very good and the short rib exceeded expectations! The service was also very fast despite the restaurant being full. Highly recommend!
