I've been coming here for almost 20 years now, from student till my 35 years old. El Greco is real Utrecht and real Greek. Their Pita Gyros is damn tasty, and their crew always treats you with a smile and good food. I don't know what it is, but they always seem to have fun doing it. This is where you get your greek snacks in Utrecht! And Utrecht loves them back!

Super bad experience. Highly dissuade going there. The waiter reacted grumpy when we asked about vegan options. He then even insulted us for being stupid when we had another question about food that we then ordered.

The first ever joint I got food from when I got to Utrecht, a staple name in the city among Dutch and international students alike, a kind and ever smiling family staff, and some of the best food in town for its price. I would always recommend El Greco to anyone in town and I go myself every so often. Looking for a bite somewhere for less than 10eur? With some friends? Late at night? It always works, and don't be alarmed by the queue you might find there, it's a very fast moving one thanks to the efficiency of the owners. There are, however, no vegan options (other than fries), and limited veggie options, no bathroom for patrons, and limited seating inside. Luckily, the plaza it adjoins has many benches. Overall great joint with food you think you've tried before, with a Greek twist. I highly recommend for some fastfood or a snack.

Is the best real giros place in Utrecht and probably one of the best all over Netherlands.

This place and the staff is a real deal. Best gyros i’ve ever had. Pita bread with tzatziki(cacık) is just so yummy. Always nice treat and welcoming attitude for the entire service.

Rude staff, we felt unwelcome the moment we walked in. Not sure if they're Greek, not typical usually most Greek are welcoming & friendly. Surprised by the good review score. Gyro pita was just full of meat, not much vegetable which isn't how it should be served.

As far as snackbars go in Utrecht, this one of the best Greek ones in Utrecht. They're quick to get your order, and the taste is great! Good price/quality/food ratio!

The pita tastes super nice! It’s fresh and relatively cheap for Utrecht. The owners are super kind and you feel welcome all the time. The vegetarian pita is definitely a recommendation.

We asked for vegan options and the only answer was „I’m not vegan, I don’t know. Ketchup are smashed tomatoes no?“ so we ordered fries with ketchup. And after I didn’t find the sauce in this stupid plastic cup, they insulted me with „I thought germans were smart“. In the end there was mayo btw instead of ketchup. Thank you for nothing, never again.

Best cheap and fast snack after a night out! My tip: take the Turkish pizza with lettuce.

These guys love Greek food, and that you can taste! The gyros is delicious, perfectly moist and not dry like others I've had. Their tzatziki sauce and simple salad makes the perfect addition. And to finish it off with a fresh baked pita bread. The perfect dinner, lunch or late night snack!!!
