Very cool place to visit for sunset, sunrise or picnic lunch or southern hemisphere night sky star viewing. 150km x 50km. Bring hat and sunscreen. Best to go with guide. Islands cool to visit, hiking, cactus etc. Surrounded by mountains and volcanoes. Dry season best as less tourists and still many wet areas for photos. Respect the area and don’t destroy it like tourists from some countries. Short flight from La Paz on Amaszonas or BoA. Recommended.

I arrived in Uyuni at night and at my hostel, I booked my day tour then which cost $25 dollars. It included train cemetery, salt flats, lunch, photos etc.it was cheaper for me to do it in Spanish and the English tours cost a lot more. To be honest, I felt the tours gave you the basic information that you get in the brochure or google it

Challenging to cycle but a great experience. The island in the middle of the flats offers accommodation, a restaurant and bathrooms.

Natural wonder !!! Unique place highest salt desert and biggest of the world. Places with archeological importance inside and outside of the salt flat.

Amazing place to visit! I recommend a 3 day tour of the salt flats and the surrounding mountains. It gets very cold at night, but the days are even more beautiful. Pack your thick clothes!!
