Overpriced steaks. I went in for an early dinner. Ordered a glass of red wine and was told that they had to serve my wine in a Coke glass and staff even placed an empty Coke can by the side. Very strange. Placed my order for a Medium Rare Rib eye steak (MS 6/7), which came Medium Well. Staff had a new steak done. Overall, very expensive meal, from a Bangkok perspective as the steak was almost US70 and whole bill which included sauteed mushrooms was USD90

The best steakhouse in town !! El Gaucho serves find quality and tasty steak in their American style decorated restaurant. The Sukhumvit Soi 19 is their main branch where they provide more than 50-60 tables among 3 stories building. Recommendation is US Beef which the customer can choose two or three grade of the beef in various cuts however all the range are delicious ! Lobster bisque is also great and coming with quite big volume so if you are not a big eater and you are not coming alone I suggest you to share the soup with your friend in order to save your stomach for the main dish. For easier eating, you may ask the staff to slice the beef into sliced meat then it's easy to eat. They prepare a wide range of the selected wines from all over the world although they are rather high price. El Gaucho also provides a couple of super delicious house-made caramel vodka for free at the end of the course (be careful of drunk ! ) Price is a bit high but value for every Baht you pay and still slightly cheaper than a luxury steakhouse in the 5-star hotels. Reservation is suggested because sometimes they are full. Parking is an issue however you can have a 3-hour free parking at Terminal 21 and take just 5 minutes on foot to El Gaucho. This is my benchmark of the steakhouse in Thailand.

Great service but lacking food quality. Definitely good for one time experience. I will try to be detailed and give you recommendations on how to get the best out of your meal. Read the remarks for summary😀 Service (5/5) : As a big restaurant they have something down, the service. The service was immaculate by Bishnu our host. Who was very accommodating and the order was prompt despite us having 20 items to order. He listened to the feedback and the kitchen accommodated in kind. Drinks (4/5) : The drinks were well made and the house wine (Malbec) was especially good for a dinner. Not too full. Drinks well and pairs well with the red meat. It is a good wine if you are looking for a calm dinner with friends. Docked points for the price of the wine. Must try the caramel vodka from Belvedere to end! Atmosphere (4/5) : Truth be told we really liked the atmosphere. The ambience and decor was perfect for a classy steak dinner or a sit-down meal with friends. It was lively and overall people seemingly had a great time. However, I docked a point for the simple fact that someone had a birthday and as an Argentinian restaurant one would hope they would incorporate some Latin vibes into the celebration. Food (2/5) : Great start but a disappointing end! Starting of with the house bread with garlic confit and other condiments was exceptional. Really good to start the evening. Then moving onto the green asparagus soup. The texture was good. The slices of asparagus added a great delight but there was not enough salt in the soup. But overall great. The Burrata with cherry tomatoes was great! Loved the sauce and it is as good as you would expect. That is when it started turning for the worst. They didn't have the proper Chorizo(pork) so the flavour profile of the Provoleta with Chorizo just didn't gel as much. The plate had cooled that the cheese was solid within 5 minutes. Which meant you had hard cheese after that point. The main course was definitely way over priced for the plate served. Spaghetti aglio e olio was not fully al-dente, there was too much parmesan which made it creamy. Unlike how it's supposed to be and the garlic flavour just didn't come across. The truffle tagliatelle was more a mushroom tagliatelle. The very slightest of hints of truffle and for a dish that is 700+ you would expect a generous amount of truffle or truffle flakes to enhance the flavour. The sides were good but again the truffle Mac and cheese were not great. The fries were light and crispy. The spinach was a touch too wet. The garlic mash was great. The sauces were great and especially the blue cheese sauce! Must try! The fillet trio was well cooked, however the desired cook was medium rare and some parts of the fillet were medium and bordering on medium well. Not enough sear and not enough seasoning. The meat cooled down too much too fast. The first bite was slightly too cold. They were definitely not grilled at the same time as the ribeye. The ribeye was exceptional. Personally too much fat in the ribeye than preferred but amazing overall. The temperature was on point and the cook was perfect! Remarks : It is an overpriced place thankfully their service is on point so it is good to bring clients and for a one time experience. Have the ribeye with blue cheese sauce, Burrata and the bread with garlic confit. Improve your experience : Order individual cuts of meat rather than the sharing platters for groups and if you are two, cut the meat yourself if it's smaller cuts so that it retains more heat as you eat and have the Blue cheese!

The best Steakhouse in Bangkok! Lovely ambience. Great service and attentive staff. Wide selection of drinks and food menu. Had the wagyu steak for dinner. The meat was so tasty and juicy. Love their complimentary loaf of freshly-baked warm bread, which comes with herded butter spread, olive oil and grilled garlic knob.

Another steakhouse to visit in Bangkok if you are a meat lover 🤗❤️ Love all side dishes. Salmon Tartar was really nice with that hidden crispy thing inside as a small surprise 😚 Many choices of beef and lamb to go for. Had a small birthday surprise there as well 😃 The service in general was good. It was getting crowded by the time we were about to leave. However, please don't let us wait for too long after checking next time 😅

It is always an excellent experience to dine here. Service is perfect, the food, meats, and sides are exquisite. Very well taken care of during our birthday celebration, with a complimentary cake, and a digestif. As soon as you sit down, bam! Bread with a head of garlic roasted, butter and chimichurri sauce, to placate the hunger monster while you contemplate the main course. Try any steak with fois gras... You will believe in a higher power.

I had a wonderful dinner at El Gaucho. The food is a little on the high end but it is worth it. The complementary bread and roaded garlic were above and beyond. I had the lamb chops and an arugula salad. All in all, it was a great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant

I went here with a group of colleagues for the team's dinner, and it was amazing. The place is located in the Sukumvhit area, with easy access. You can ride the MRT and stop at Asok station, the restaurant located right next to Terminal21 Shopping Mall. The atmosphere was good, and the restaurant's interior is dominated by wood. When you stepped into the restaurant, you can smell something tasty already. When you sit, they will serve you with bread, butter, and garlic confit. The garlic confit tasted amazing! Perfectly roasted, tasted sweet and savory at the same time. We ordered several appetizers to share. However, I couldn't remember what we ordered, but I remember everything was great! We ordered lobster, and it was amazing! The lobster was big and fresh, and of course, delicious. I ordered filet rossini, a wagyu filet topped with foie gras and truffle sauce, and added creamy spinach as the side dish. The filet was tender and juicy. The foie gras was buttery and oh so heavenly. Topped it with a well-made truffle sauce, and it was... bomb! The creamy spinach was good, and I also like their french fries. The wine was also great. Overall, my experience here was amazing. All the staff are nice and very attentive, so the service was 💯

I have being to the restaurant every time I am in Bangkok and in other cities as well. And recommended to many people. However in last three days my experience in 2 visits have being very different and inconsistent. Tonight the food served was average. Starting from starter to main course and the service was below average. The beef tarter was nicely presented but the bread served with had an awkward smell to it. And the beef soup was very salty. And the potato’s in the soup was not softly melting. We were not asked for water preferences and not serve any water until we asked for it past 45 minutes and really felt being judged on our look. There for we decided to cancel one main course and take away the other. The experience tonight was not worth the time spent. The restaurant ambience is very nice and meat quality is none to ‘match. There are very attentive staffs who are genuine and understand the requirement of us . It is right to say that there is a visible notice in inconsistency in service from people to people there. Hoping that they improve the service. And we shall go back to the place as usual.

Four of us came to lunch today. We all ordered set lunch, wagyu filet mignon, wagyu rib eye, filet streak and New York striploin. Beef soup was very great as a starter, we were all surprised by the serve size of the soup haha. Fresh fries for side dish were great as well, if they provide us ketchup would be better haha. The staff were so nice as well, it was raining when we were leaving. Unfortunately we parked our car at T21, we wanted to borrow the umbrella and return it when our driver drive the car at the restaurant to pick us. The manger accompanied us with umbrellas and went to T21 with us, so nice of him! Will try again next time, may be at night!

After being in Bangkok for a few weeks, I was craving a nice steak. 🥩 Well, El Gaucho definitely delivered! I popped in for a late lunch and grabbed the lunch set. Be warned... It's a lot of food. 🤣 The service was spectacular! The complimentary warm bread with roasted garlic was fantastic! I selected the beef empanada and side salad as sides for my steak set, and I chose the Australian filet (rare) for the steak. Everything was extremely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and was seasoned well. 🤤 Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert... I won't make that mistake next time! 🤣

The best steak restautant in Bangkok. I have been to several branches and always been satisfied with the quality of the meats and their services. With a variety of steak, meat amd wine selections , you would defenitely find your favorite here. This time I enjoyed Rib eye steak with the Argentinian wine named La Posta by Laura Catena made of Malbec, called Black wine which amazingly pair with the steak. Asok branch located in Sukhumvit Soi19 looks like its headquarters with the monumental building which stands out from the Bangkok's night view especially at X'mas season. Staff are always attentive to customers and serve professionally.

Great place to hang out with friends, family or even chill business talk. Great selection of beef and wine. Parking at Terminal 21. Staff is very friendly and communicates English well. Pickle is extremely good. I always ask for extra ones. Bread and garlic is heaven 😂

The roasted garlic & freshly baked bread was heavenly…candle lit table and the rain drops on the window made a perfect ambience! The chops were very tender and the marination was tasteful..:will definitely come again ❤️

Great atmosphere and the service is outstanding. The steak was decent. Not up to the quality of the high end steakhouses in America that I love but worth the trip for sure. A great overall experience.

One of the best steakhouse in bangkok , we liked the meat was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful Its my second visit to El Gaucho and i am going to do it again Pricey in comparison with the other steakhouse restaurants

A truly great experience! Staff are unbelievably friendly with the extra finesse you expect in a location like this. The steaks are carefully prepared in an open kitchen with a large cooler displaying the meat cuts served throughout. The ambience gives you a slight hint of Argentina with notes of a modern day steakhouse. My recommendation is to try the Wagyu!, A5 truly melts in your mouth!

Decent quality steak and exceptional service & atmosphere, HOWEVER, we all felt the price was around 40% over priced. Three of us had a mixed platter (4990++) (2 small cuts of steak, chicken, chorizo but it didn’t include any of the sides/sauces, had to order everything separately for around $5-7/side/sauce), a salad, a bottle of wine (1900++), one cocktail (450++) and two desserts, when the final bill came, it was around 10,000 THB (almost $95-100 USD/person). Caramel vodka at the end was a good touch, however, all of us thought, everything was too overpriced for the quality/taste of food we received. As much as I wanted to like this place (3rd visit), I can’t recommend it (the price keeps increasing to the level that we weren’t comfortable with). For this price, you can get much higher quality steak elsewhere. (Unless it’s for special occasion and you don’t mind paying $80-120/head) I can’t recommend this place)

Came here for a steak dinner to celebrate a birthday whilst on holiday in Bangkok, came back the second night because the food was so good! The New York striploin with fries and pepper sauce is absolutely amazing. The steak is the nicest steak I’ve ever tasted. It is expensive but so worth it. You also get a caramel shot after your dinner and complimentary bread and garlic butter before your dinner. All the staff are all so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend trying this place out if you’re looking for a steak dinner in Bangkok.

Food in el guacho is extremely pricey but exquisite. A 250g steak is close to 100 bucks. No sauces on steak only seasoned with salt and pepper to allow you to enjoy the taste of the meat. They serve two types of meat USDA and Australian prime meat. There are options on the menu for a selection of different steaks to be served. Staff and service is pretty good. They have many locations across Bangkok, but the one at sukhumvit is the one that's most easily accessible by train. They give a free birthday cake and free caramel vodka during birthdays.

It’s a funny thing to experience different styles of dining in different countries. I’ve just learned to just accept how the staff serves the guests. It always makes the experience better. Nice atmosphere at the restaurant. The food is pricey but the quality is on point.

The restaurant is located in a lovely place in Bangkok minus all the chaos and traffic. Secondly, the food especially the meat is superb. While the meat is superb, all their other dishes are at par with the meat. To top it off, great selection of wines. A special mention to the amazing staff. Couldn't find anything negative to comment and hence the 5 stars.

Generous portion sizes, quality ingredients, and excellent service! I noticed there were a few locations in Thailand, and finally made it to one. We loved it! I ordered a steak set menu and he ordered ribs. Everything was prepared and served well. Obviously it’s a little more expensive then most places, but it’s worth it to me!

Can't complain. Finished everything on my plate : Foie Gras, Platinum Rib Eye, Hot Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. How can you go wrong with those classic right?

  • 2/5 Natacha C. 2 years ago on Google
Totally overrated and overpriced. Considering the expensive price, we went there with the expectation to eat a super flavored and juicy steak, just like in the US. We ordered 2 T-Bone steaks, one rare and one medium rare. Both arrived overcooked... The meat is good but nothing amazing. We were very disappointed. The service and atmosphere are nice. The complimentary bread with roasted garlic was excellent.

The meat was great. The beef tartare absolutely delicious and the Tbone perfect. The place is nice and quite spacious. Probably not very relaxing but the atmosphere will be perfect for a friendly dinner. If i have to say something I didn't like, the price. In my opinion too high. But the meat quality was high indeed.
