This museum needs at least 2-3 hours to cover it. We had only one hour before the flight but it was exciting anyway. I would love to come back look closer at everything there

Travel in time from Paleolithic era(500,000 BC) to present time. Mostly focused on the Urartian civilization. (800-550 BC)

Great museum with wonderful exhibitions. If you heading to van castle make sure to stop by the museum. It explains a lot about the local and the castle history . Only 10 TL and everything translated to english

One of the best museums I've ever visited. Newly built with professional design, clean and silent with great light position. So informative with details. Comprehensive and flawless.

I was impressed by the high quality of this museum... Much better than more famous similar museums in Turkey. Plan about 1,5h or more for the visit if you are planning to read. All the explanations are in English. Make sure you also make time to visit to the castle in front of the museum, it has wonderful views of the city and lake.

This is an impressive museum that lays out the history and archeological digs of eastern Turkey. Definitely worth spending 3-4 hours exploring before continuing on to the Van Kalesi.

This is an absolutely amazing museum !! it's massive and quite high tech!! Takes a while to get through the entire museum, you'd need over an hour. Apparently this museum was a finalist in the European museum awards. Btw Amenities and facilities are great too, there's a nice cafe, clean bathrooms, prayer room, an area for children to play (mini excavation area as well, where they can dig up their own archeological findings🤩)

This is quite a new museum, focusing heavily on the Urartu period, and very informative. The museum holds artefacts and copies of artefacts from the region. It starts in the Stone Age, before focusing primarily on the Urartian period, about 2800-2600 years ago. The layout is well done and the text is in Turkish and English. There are a lot of artefacts from later times also, but it is the place to go for a museum on Urartu.

One of the best museums I've ever been to. The 3,000 year old artifacts were enlightening to me. I learned so much about a people that lived in this region long ago called the Urartu. Fascinating.

One of the unique city-museums of Georgia. I can call it Georgian ''Eldorado'' - antic city of temples full of gold artifacts and bronze statues. Must see place in western Georgia

I would give five stars if the toilets were clean. There is a cafe inside but there is no one responsible. I like small, cozy cafes in museums. The one in this museum is huge and cold and empty. In addition, there is a TV show of the museum which I like watching but its so silent, you cannot hear it. I prefer to watch it with a good sound system.

Outstanding museum with superb exhibits beautifully presented. Information boards are clear and in Turkish and English. The only quibble was a poorly stocked museum shop and the lack of an English language guide book.

Wow! This is one of the best museums in Turkey! Amazing artefacts skillfully presented and well lit. Unusually, all the well written descriptions are also bilingual! And it costs only TL 20!!

Loved it very interesting just recently opened. This museum is opposite Van castle. The information boards are in English and Turkish and the videos which are dotted around the museum have English subtitles. There are toilets and a cafe located within the museum.

It is a newly built, very modern museum. It has artifacts from Urartular, Roma, Bizans, Selçuklu, Akkoyunlu ve Karakoyunlu and Ottoman times. The location of the museum is very close to the Van Castle.

The largest museum that focuses on Urartu Civilization in the capital city of the Kingdom. It hosts thousands of artifacts, sculptures and carvings which date back to BC 3000. Although there are only ruins, I especially liked the remains of the sculpture of Chief God Haldi.

I cannot choose proper word to describe this museum. If you have interest on Urartu you must see as soon as possible.

Great Museum and the lots of interesting artefacts, though the replicates aren't very professional. I especially liked the handmade potteries and engraved stones.
