I have never been to a restaurant that takes over 20 minutes to greet me at the door. The hostess saw us and never came to acknowledge us and I had to approach her to have us seated and be put down on wait list. The hostess was not nice, inattentive and did not have a warm welcome to the guest and didn’t care for their customers. As for waiting for food I waited well over an hour for just a famous breakfast to come. I have never been to a restaurant that takes a very long time to serve their guests in every aspect. They even took 15 minutes to serve us water / drinks. UNBELIEVABLE. Ever since the owner has changed, the service has never been the same, the efficiency, customer service and quality of food has not been the same. I will not return to the restaurant due to my unsatisfactory.

We waited a while before the waiter gave us water. Then we'd to put up our hands for a while before we got the attention of the waiter to take our order. The food took quite a while to come and we're famished. Food tasted good however we were busy defending off flies buzzing around our food. The sanitary condition was terrible. I went to the men's washroom and thought I was in a horror movie where it's infested with flies. For a restaurant, it's simply unacceptable for such horrific conditions. I will not be going back there any time soon.

We were looking 👀 for a new place where we can try a good 👍 brunch / breakfast 🥞 🧇 🍳 . So, we decided to visit Cafe Landwer located in Richmond Hill, ON. Cafe Landwer is a lovely 😊 place. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city 🏙️ in spite of being in the city 🌃. There’s an ample parking 🅿️ space around the building. The place has the huge indoor seating arrangements and the seating arrangement is super comfortable and spacious.

The staff is really nice, friendly and kept following 🆙. The brunch / breakfast 🧇 🍳 🥞 menu is great and there are many options to choose from and they also offer quite a lot of small bites options to choose from.

Pricing is decent, good value for money and the place is more suitable for a group of people.

This place used to be my to go to for a joyful dine in but i was quite disappointed with my last visit. The prices has gone up a little but the quality and portion of the food had a very huge downfall. I used to love the schnitzel here but this time it came with just a little bit of potatoes and absolutely no garnish or a side salad or anything else. It was almost so dry that i couldn’t swallow the food properly. Also when i asked for the sauce that it used to come with, i was informed that ill be charged. No one cares about paying an extra dollar but its a very cheap attitudes for a busy dine in such as Landwer. Also our server was very unaware of us which we had to turn our heads around for a good 5 minutes to find him and let him know we’re ready. I most likely don’t come back here. Update: the waitress just randomly brought our cheque to us to pay before even asking us or us letting her know that we want to pay. Very unprofessional. Update: the servers are very inattentive. We stood for like a good 10mins to be seated. The coffee i received was in poor presentation

Definitely a great spot for breakfast or brunch specially if you are looking for different options than your typical eggs and bacon or no pancakes. They have a nice patio and there is plenty of free parking in the plaza. Really love their breads.

We had to wait for 45 minutes to get our food. They said the kitchen was behind. I’m sure they are short staffed as I could see from the service. My father ordered a waffle breakfast. As you can see from the photo the portion is very skimpy. I spoke to the manager and her response was that portion sizes have been reduced. I commented on the prices which have been increased. She said the portions have been decreased and the prices have been increased. She also said the waffle meal is now a dessert size but it is listed as a breakfast. Management should really consider how to provide service as best you can under trying times.

Overall, not a bad place for breakfast. There is a lot of parking available although the parking lot is pretty busy. Our breakfast was pretty good except as a personal preference, everything was a bit salty. Pro tip, don't spend extra money on truffle fries, I think they drip a couple of truffle oil on fries and call it truffle fries. Clean, family friendly vibe and hip enough for couples to visit but you should be ready to spend around $60+ for breakfast and coffee for two adults. Due to the price, it's a place that I may visit once or twice a year. I would rather spend that money for lunch or pay a little more for a decent dinner instead of simple breakfast.

Cafe Landwer is so cute! Got together with a couple of friends for a Tuesday brunch and the place was already bustling. The interior is very chic. I love the plaza tile and the frames on the wall. The food was fantastic as well. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Benedict which was delicious. Eggs perfectly cooked. Hollandaise was a smidge cold, but tasted great! Potatoes soft inside and crispy outside. Perfect! My friends got the Shakshouka - which will probably be next for me to try. We also got the Rozalach for dessert. So yummy! Our server Austin was also great! Thank you for your help today. Can’t wait to come back try more delicious food.

A fantastic place for Israeli food. Shakshuka was excellent and so was the carrot cake. Coffee was great, much better than anywhere else.

Landwer is one of the best cafes in GTA. The food quality is perfect, and the variety of food is awesome the atmosphere is unique. They have a very nice interior design with beautiful wall design and paint. The outside patio is perfect. They have nice and kind staff. I highly recommend this cafe.

Considering that this place always has a line-up, I was quite surprised at how underwhelmed I was with the food, atmosphere and service. Firstly, I used the yelp app so I did not endure the inconvenience of waiting on-site for a table. I arrived right when my table was ready and was escorted with my husband to the tiniest two seater table in the middle of the restaurant. It was terribly inconvenient and uncomfortable. I had nowhere to put my purse and the lady beside me put it in between her feet. I looked around the restaurant and all the tables were tiny and uncomfortable. We ordered the plant based shakshuka and roast beef sandwich. The food was pretty good but I found it bland and so I was up sold their hot sauce for $1. We also in ordered Turkish coffee and their brewed coffee. We wanted to order their eggs Benedict, but they have a strict stop to that at noon, which I think is pretty lame for a restaurant that doesn't open that early. In summary, I think their food is decent, but their atmosphere and service are not the greatest. As such, I would only return in the summer when their patio is open and if I don't have to wait.

This place is definitely not worth coming. First the waiting time is extremely long, normally 1-2 hours. And the amount is too small compared to the price, all the sides listed on the menu are just one spoon. $20 isn't even enough to get one person full. Besides, if you sit outside, the bees will come all the time, you cannot enjoy your meal quietly, and the waiter won't do anything to help. During my brunch, the bees even land on my eggs...My worst experience with a brunch.😤😤

The food tasted good, however we ended up having terrible stomachache after we ate here. I spoke to my friend about it and she told me she had the same issue after eating here. Not coming back. The waiter also was slow, didn’t clean the table properly, broke a glass on our table.

This was our second time here and it was the hummus tahini bowl that brought us back because it’s sooo good I was craving it again! Everything we’ve tried here, both food and drinks, have been great. The halloumi salad I tried this time was so fresh and flavourful. Our server was friendly and attentive which was the cherry on top!

First time here for brunch. Food was delicious. Had mezza plate, sausage shakshuka, chicken shawarma and a pepperoni pizza. Everything was delicious. Only complaint was pizza was a little under done. Also nutella hot chocolate and halva latte were delicious!

I like this place because the staff is really nice and takes care of you well. The food is decent, pricing is not bad but I always find it to be a bit bland and nothing super special. Regardless the vibe is very nice inside and service is great. I would come back here from time to time.

Decent place, decent food, and not too pricey. Lovely and friendly staff. I have tried various of their lattes and I have yet to find one that is not that sweet. The atmosphere is unique though the indoors can be quite loud.

Friendly staff but service is a bit slow. Definitely on the pricier side for brunch but food is consistently good. 👍🏻 Tip: If you go to this location try to avoid sitting by the door as it can be cold (I had to keep my coat on).

pricey, but i had a more enjoyable experience at this location. the atmosphere was nice and the server was friendly. i went at 8:30 on a saturday morning, so it wasn't busy at all until 9:30. the food surpassed my expectations :) especially the Landwer's Famous Breakfast. the other item I ordered was the Plant-Based Yogurt. both were good, and so was the coffee.

Pretty disappointed with the visit today. My friend ordered a cold brew that tasted watered down, she found an eyelash in her food and our server was extremely absent with us. The shakshuka was well done but the service was much less than I expected. Shame because the food was quite good. K

Tonight's take out order/delivery is the complete opposite from in restaurant experience. The schnitzel was dry. My chicken shawarma was cold and bland. When I had this in the restaurant it was delicious and nicely seasoned with lots of spices. My flat bread was cold too. Small sized portions over all and does not reflect the pricing. Literally $15 for 4 pieces of cauliflower! $7 for a small handful of rice. Shwarma was also skimpy. Pretty disappointing. Truffle mushroom pasta was okay. Probably not an ideal delivery meal. It is usually really good in restaurant. The rose pasta was okay too.

I have eaten eggs Benedict with smoked salmon many times in many different places but by far the one at landwer cafe was the best. It was perfectly balanced with just enough hollandaise sauce - not dripping with it. And I could actually taste different ingredients very well. My wife had the sandwich with sesame seeds and it was really flavourful. However, it could take 20-25 min of wait time to get a seat during peak hours and bit crowded atmosphere. The staff were however very polite and fast in-spite of the busy crowd.

My boyfriend and I recently enjoyed a delightful brunch at Cafe Landwer. He chose Shakshuka, which was delicious and perfectly seasoned. I went for a tasty Chicken Sandwich, which was a wonderful choice. We also shared a Chicken Shawarma Hummus Bowl, equally satisfying and flavorful. A highlight was the fresh bread, absolutely irresistible. The cafe's atmosphere was warm and inviting, adding to our experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Cafe Landwer for a cozy and tasty brunch/breakfast 😋

Very busy spot!Wait time was long however worth the wait! First time visiting, we asked our server for recommendations. We had the the chicken Schnitzel, chicken breast and the salmon entree. It was outstanding! Everything was well seasoned and big portions. Staff was friendly I will definitely return!

Sara, the manager at Café Landwer, deserves high praise for her exceptional leadership and dedication. Her customer-centric approach and attention to detail contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making the cafe a standout destination for both great food and a delightful experience. Highly recommended.

Came here for a quick brunch. The service was great. Decent ambiance and location. I ordered the regular eggs. The eggs had no flavoring and the bread seems bland. The turkey bacon was not crispy and lacked taste.

Great patio experience, super cozy and casual. Service was wonderful and food tasted awesome. I got the Eggs Benedict, I loved the bread that was used, the eggs were over cooked but otherwise was yummy. I also got the green juice, it was sweet though hope there wasn't any added sugar. I would love to go back to try out the lunch menu.

Coffee wasn’t too great, was just okay. First time trying Turkish coffee in my life (not included in picture), but wasn’t something fit to my preference. Place was nice, but waiting time was hilarious (around 30+ mins) I think this place is more known for brunch, so maybe I need to try their brunch instead of coffee and dessert.

Tried to be critical but have to say that this place was very good! We went for lunch on a Saturday so place was very busy. We waited 30 mins before we got seats but if you know Yorkdale, this is normal. There were 4 of us and we ordered the goat cheese and berries salad, Truffle Mushroom & Cream Pappardelle, Angel Hair Rose, bbq pulled beef, and shakshuka. I also ordered their Landwer iced tea. Portions were generous, food was delicious, staff was attentive and vibe was trendy with both families and groups of friends. Price is comparable to any dine-in trendy restaurant these days so I thought it was fair.

  • 5/5 Javad S. 10 months ago on Google
I visited the place in a group of friends for brunch. We had the veggie and the turkey egg benedict plates and items from the Shakshuka menu. It was my first time trying a Shakshuka plate (beef kebab, egg plant, tomato sauce, eggs, etc) and I loved it! It came with a piece of fresh fluffy bread (pitta and toast also available). The egg benedict dishes had some room for improvement but still delicious. We also had coffee and latte which were ok. I only expected a little faster service but hounestly nothing to complaint. The staff were nice and helpful but maybe a little understaffed for a Saturday. I appreciate the fact that they could accommodate my puppy in the patio. There were other dog owners around us as well. Overall, I recommend this place and will go back myself.

Atmosphere in here is always so lively. Gotten take out on several occasions but finally had the chance to dine in. Despite it being a Monday afternoon there was a short wait (it's a popular place so not unexpected) of roughly 10 minutes. Once we were seated it was smooth sailing. Service was great and the food showed up promptly. Delicious as well. Would recommend for brunch and lunch alike. Their pancakes were light and almost crumbly. A real treat. The halloumi cheese sticks were to die for.

DISASTROUS MANAGEMENT, ZERO stars if we could. Read RECENT reviews before coming. Think Again. Love supporting small businesses but not when treated unfairly. We came here during the lockdown to grab a coffee to go and said we had to come back for breakfast since the decor was so nice. Came this morning waited at the door for a while and was then told there would be a SHORT wait of minimum 45 minutes. These 2 other guests came in after us and was told the table would be ready in a minute for them. When asked if they had reservations or were they ahead of us., we were told they don't take reservations. If you look at the reviews you'll see many people complaining about their poor management. Go somewhere else.

Love the decor here and the food was well presented and made. Serving breakfast with a middle east vibe. Substantial menu, highly recommend the farmer's Breakfast for those who struggles to make decisions on what to have. Eggs Benedict was also good with plenty of choices. Well balanced hollandaise. I love their sandwiches that has lots of sesame, toasted to crispy, full of flavours. Definitely a great place for family and friends gathering, and apparently they are children friendly. Service was attentive, helpful and good at recommending their dishes. However, the coffee here really let the food and services down. It was watery and lack of coffee scent, we have tried the brewed coffee and cappuccino, they were not so good. Their shakshuka was also a hit, we have seen quite alot of customer order it, we gotta try it next time.

Food was alright- I’ve had better Mediterranean. A little pricey but the vibe is very cool! Its a warm spot. Service could be improved. My server was not the sweetest person and sounded irritated as we took some time to decide our order. Although, i loved the sweet potato fries!

Great atmosphere, friendly well trained servers, clean. Good music 🎶, just the right volume. A great place to eat, enjoy with friends, family, or a cool date. It's very busy for good reason. Clean washrooms, thank you! Definitely, a return visit is necessary.

We came here for brunch and it was a nice spot that we thoroughly enjoyed. The place is clean and has a unique ambiance inside than the traditional brunch spot. Everything we ordered tasted good and we had no complaints about the quality/quantity of the food we received. The service was quick for us but it was also a Tuesday afternoon. The food is more on the pricier side but the portions are decent, quality is good and so is the ambience. We got the Landwar schnitzel (which was perfectly cooked, not dry), shawarma humus bowl (which was flavoured nicely) and the Halloumi sticks (was very good and a small plate I recommend getting). My only gripe about this place was we were waiting a while at the front to be greeted and at one point we felt the servers were actively not making eye contact with us while walking past us. You gotta be careful with this as a restaurant because some people would walk out after not being greeted at that point. When we sat the server gave us good service though so that made up for it. Overall we enjoyed our food a lot, I'd recommend it to people and would come back again.

Nice brunch spot with lots of good options that’ll keep you coming back. The chef was accommodative of vegan choices and prepared the meal well. The atmosphere is great, perfect for breakfast, brunch and lunch. They could use a better host though that is more welcoming and attentive.

Great food and service. Easily one of the best brunch spots in the city but I’m giving it 4 stars as wait times can be lengthy.

Very good food and an interesting menu with lots to try but super busy. Don’t go if you’re in a rush and get on the waitlist ASAP. That said, the hostess and servers were all really nice and got us our orders without issue. I would recommend for lunch. Their lattes are huge and really good, same with the smoothie bowl.

Just moved to this area, and this place is Lovely & friendly Foods are a bit pricey considering their portions but they taste good. Desert was sweet, fresh - recommend - Rozalach with chocolate hazelnut There is a lot of parking available although the parking lot is pretty busy. If you go to this location try to avoid sitting by the door as it can be cold ( we’ve changed a table right away)
