I stopped by this place for lunch because of its google reviews. It did not disappoint! The men working were very friendly and helpful. They recommended the chicken shawarma wrap and even gave me a sample of the chicken while I waited for it to be made. The portion is large and the price is fair ($15)! I would recommend this place if you’re craving shawarma.

I totally understand the comments about slow service. They do take their time, so plan to wait a few minutes. Not because they are slow, but because they take the time to make you feel like not just a customer, but a friend. From the first time and everytime I go in there they make you feel special. Other places should definitely take note. I've been going here for about 6 years. Usually get the chicken shawarma They never disappoint. Went in on a Friday just before closing. Chicken on the spit was basically done. They offered me falafel instead, but topped it with the remaining chicken. I have never had a wrap this size. A little pricey ($15) but worth it. Definitely two meals in one for someone who doesn't eat massive meals. They even gave me a free can of coke just for praising the food and service. I will continue to go and support them.

I tried many Shawarma Places in Vaughan and Richmond Hill and Pita Golden-Pocket beats them all by a long shot! 1) the meat is delicious 2) the ingredients are fresh 3) the portions are plentiful (very much so!) 4) the owners cheerful and welcoming attitude makes you leave this restaurant not only full but with a smile on your face.

My husband has been going to this place for years. He introduced me to it about 4 years ago, and I can definitely understand his obsession with it. Their food is always made to order and is quite tasty. Their toppings are always fresh. This father-son duo is doing an incredible job! They're always in a good mood and accommodating to requests. Their house sauces are all delicious and unique, the mango is our favourite. The meat/protein and toppings are stacked generously, regardless of whether you get a wrap or a dinner. They tear part of the wrapper so that it can be opened easily. Once the dad even cut up my shawarma into "sushi" for me, so it was easier to eat. Lovely little place. No complaints whatsoever. 5/5 highly recommend this hidden gem.

Before coming here, I was skeptical of the overly positive reviews. Very close to a perfect 5*s and 800+ reviews? Really? But after coming here for lunch, I know now that these reviews are 100% genuine. The old man and the younger guy doing my order were super nice and the wrap tasted amazing with great portions (See my photo to gaze upon the girth of this lad). Chicken was nicely marinated and produce tasted fresh. I was also told the special picked mango sauce is their specialty and was not disappointed. For $13 after tax you really can't find any better.

Possibly the best shawarma in the GTA. Huge portions for good price ($16 after tax for a wrap) and amazing quality. The two gentlemen working at the front were very kind and welcoming for our first time. MUST TRY! Will definitely be back.

I heard of this place from a co-worker who swore by their wraps. They were right! The chicken was so moist and fresh. The portions are huge. The staff (who I assume was the owner with his son) were extremely friendly and kind. They gave everyone in line a good size sample of chicken topped with their home-made sauce on small plates while they prepared our orders. The place itself is dated but reminded me of 90's style restaurants where they focus on the food, the service, and you. I did not mind waiting for them to prepare the orders, they definitely make you feel welcome and appreciated for choosing their business. Others in line also told us how this was the best shawarma they ever had. When the owner heard it was our first time, he insisted we take a couple drinks for free! They had many drinks you don't see often too. Blackberry Ginger Ale!? My weakness. I'll be back soon - with friends and family!

Most amazing shawarma wrap I’ve ever had. Got the big shawarma wrap and it lives up to the name. We chose our toppings and look away, when we look back we see a mountain of chicken. Even the atmosphere was great, the staff were extremely nice and kind.

Excellent service by the family. Always welcoming and brings a smile to their customers. The food is unbelievable. Their staple must be the chicken shawarma. It's a must try if you haven't already. Once you have it, nothing else compares. Thank you Mr. FANTASTIC and family =)

Only reason I tried this Shawarma place is because the insane amount of chicken they put in them. Taste wise it’s nothing special, but for 12$, you can’t get anything better than this.

The most amazing shawarma wrap in the city. Bending space in order to for all that chicken into a single pita. The staff are some of the most positive people I've seen in a restaurant. The owner, wearing his famous "fantastic" red cap, always smiling, asking if you want more of this or that, just enjoying it all. I love coming here-the people always put a smile on my face. Open on weekdays only unfortunately. And be prepared to wait in line. Everyone knows how good it is, so it's always busy.

I would give a six star review if I could. This establishment knows how to prepare a quick meal. The freshness of the ingredients and quality of preparation for my wrap blew my mind. For years, I’ve been meaning to come to this pita restaurant which was recommended by a coworker and I finally did. I will definitely come back. I’m sorry I didn’t take any photos. I was distracted by the talent I witnessed while the gentleman assembled by food.

This is the best shawarma I have ever had in my life! I have travelled around the world and have also lived in Ottawa for many years and nothing compares! The service is amazing and they are super friendly. The wraps are loaded and super fresh. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!!

Had a great experience eating here. Owner is very welcoming and passionate about preparing your order. They gave out samples of the shawarma while they made our food, the sandwich had a ridiculous amount of chicken added. All sauces and ingredients very fresh. I don’t normally remember to leave a review but I was truly blown away from my experience here.

You want an absolute, delicious, mouth watering middle eastern platter or wrap this is the place to go!! Where else do you go and they have to literally put on an elastic band around the take out container to make sure all the food fit? No where. Go there and experience it for you self!

I saw all the reviews and videos on this place that I had to try it myself. I went in on a Monday afternoon and the place was packed with about 10-15 men. The food took about 20 mins, but I will have to say that this is the best chicken shawarma I have ever had. Just a heads up, the only thing on the menu is chicken shawarma or falafel in a wrap 🥙 or on a plate 🧆

If you are looking for best falafal place in GTA then go here. You will feel the positive energy as soon you enter the restaurant. This is all because of smiles from owners - Gadi and Alex. They will greet u with a smile, prepare the food with jokes and dance and then finally make sure that u get the taste u r looking for. Unlike many falafal places, quantity is not an issue here. Their single wrap is sufficient to eat in 2 meals. Taste is marvellous and you will come out of this place feeling contented on pocket and tummy. Loved it. Came here with a friend who recommended this to me. I have to say, it was the best shawarma I've ever had. Got some samples of their shawarma while waiting for our order to start, and it was already amazing! And when I started ordering proper, it was just an amazing experience. The people working there were so friendly and welcoming, I would go again just for the service. They even let me take pictures up close of the food I got And the portion size, is just massive. They stuff the pita full of meat, which actually surprised me because there was so much. It was easily the best shawarma I've had ever, and it is really close to some stores I go to. If I'm ever in Vaughan again, this will be the first place I get food at!

It was my first time trying this place and while I was deciding on what to eat, 5 people came in asking about their Shawarma. The owner kept saying they sold out for the day. But he recommended the Falafel and said “it’s the best in the world” we though we’d give it a try. And it’s definitely one of the best I’ve had. I will also be back for the Shawarma before it’s sold out!

I finally get the hype. Delicious shawarma, mix of Israeli and Arab style and absolutely massive portion. Also owners are gems - they give everyone a free sample of shawarma as you walk in and they had us laughing the entire time we were in there. Definitely makes a difference when every other restaurant is just a transaction. Will definitely be back and will bring my friends

Can't go as often anymore as work changed locations, but when I'm in the area, I definitely stop by. Food is fresh and generous quantities. Love also the "Vladimir Putin" hot sauce lol. Great family and always friendly customer service!

Went there today just before closing to get dinner for my wife and I. I ordered a chicken Shawarma plate, 8 falafel, and fries. They were super friendly, provided a ton of generously filled containers of dips/sauces with the meal, and it was only $32. There was so much chicken, veggies, and fries that after my wife and I ate (without the kids tonight), we have enough leftovers to feed ourselves and two children tomorrow. The food was delicious. My wife and I love this kind of food and this is the best we have had in a long time. Highly recommend! 5 stars+++++

Aside from the incredibly tasty and filling food, the family owned business is a place to be comforted and welcomed by the owners and other customers. What is amazing about this place is that they focus on quality and quantity. Portion sizes are hardy, and the quality of the food is next level delicious.This is a place I will continue to cherish, value and support for as long as they let me.

Hands down the best Shawarma Joint in the GTA! Definitely worth the 2 hour drive to eat an amazing wrap. This place defines a REAL shawarma wrap with a taste of back home!!!

Shawarmas here are fantastic, paradise! $13 for a falafel/chicken shawarma wrap that is accompanied with generous portions. Fresh falafels/chicken, fresh salad selection and fresh homemade sauces too. I personally love the owner’s signature hot sauce and yellow sauce that wasn’t mustard but contributed to a very strong flavourful kick. Mind you, the portions are very generous that you will very likely need to share it or bring your leftovers back home. The father & son duo here are extremely passionate about their food which are strongly evident in the high quality of the food served here. A big added bonus is the cheerfulness and humour by the owners which brightens up your day during your quick lunch visit here. I can already see myself as a regular patron of this family run establishment.

This place has true soul and you can feel the love as you walk up and witness the customer service and interaction with ownership. The things that other places lack Pita Golden Pocket provides from the quality of food, price point and portions (did I mention the potions!) If I am ever in the area it's a must go to lunch spot. I have eaten a lot of shawarma but the chicken shawarma at Golden Pocket was the largest and most delicious I’ve had. The ratio of chicken to vegetables is outstanding. I also have to mention that the staff was exponentially polite.

Great first experience at Pita Golden Pocket! Went with a couple colleagues for lunch and had a great meal and even a sample while waiting for our meals of the chicken. Chicken was moist, service was awesome, guys were crushing it.. MASSIVE PORTION.. Will be back
