There is no elevator, and as I was traveling with my family, we were placed in the family room on the top floor, which is highly inconvenient. Upon entering the room we noticed the floors were very dusty and had "dust bunnies" everywhere. As we settled in, we noticed Black Mold around the window frame. Black mold around the shower door frame. Rotten wood around bathroom door frames. Several spider webs and spiders through the room. We spoke to the owner/manager about moving rooms, but were informed they were fully booked. I then asked about having someone clean the room in which he agreed, but then never happened. The following morning for breakfast; the eggs were so watery you needed a spoon to eat them, and the bacon was so rare, I could not eat and spit out the first bite. Typically as a budget hotel you tend to lower your standards, but 125 Euro a night is hardly a budget priced room, and even if the room was 30 Euro, I would have felt overcharged by the experience. I truly hope the owner learns how to manage his staff or I do not see many reviews being better than mine in his future.

Buffalo grill restaurant nearby if needed and hotel itself has nice selection of beers and wines. Our room was a disabled room on the ground floor with a large, comfortable bed. Only issue was the bathroom which was cold (unheated) , had no shower curtain just the rail above a standard shower tray and a full length window onto the carpark, so we kept the window shutters down to spare everyone's blushes! It looked to be well thought through for a disabled guest with low level hooks, wider doors, lower level shower head etc. Would be happy to stay there again in an upstairs room.

We stayed in Verdun for 1 night as a stopover. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly gent in reception. We then proceeded to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs ( trust me you don't want to be on any other level if you carry luggage) the room is small which is OK in itself, the bed was very hard, 1 little pillow and a very noisy air-con which was needed as it was a warm night. It took ages to fall asleep as there was a fair amount of noise coming from other guests, you can hear chatter in the hallway, the TV in the room next door and the noisy air-con meant it was not the best night's sleep one has had. I appreciate its a budget hotel, no frills or luxury and that's all OK and that's why I haven't scored it any lower. Would I choose to stay here again? It would have to be a no.

Naturally, he was devastated and thought he'd never get it back, so I immediately wrote an email to B&B customer service (on a Saturday evening!) and called the reception desk in Verdun at the same time. L****, the incredibly friendly lady at the reception desk in the morning, responded barely 15mins after my initial call and told us that my son's gaming console had been found by cleaning staff and will be sent to our home address as quick as possible. And yes, it arrived safe (and perfectly packaged!) today - just a week after our stay. Honestly, this is a guest service I could have expected from a fancy 5* hotel but not from a budget B&B. What an absolutely excellent guest service from the hotel staff in Verdun! I can't thank their team enough. Apart from that, this B&B in Verdun is one of the best of the B&B hotel chain (I know quite some of them): Plenty of safe parking right in front of the hotel, there's a supermarket 3mins away, it has a nice outside sitting area where you can enjoy local beers from the fridge in the reception - and: the breakfast is surprisingly good. Plus: clean rooms (constantly over the years).

Wir übernachten auf Reisen öfters für eine Nacht in vergleichbaren Hotels und erwarten nichts perfektes. Das Zimmer an sich ist okay, klein aber sauber und zweckmäßig. Soweit so gut. Das Bad allerdings riecht stark nach Kanalisation, mehr als in Ordnung ist. Und auch der Schimmel in der Dusche ist definitiv zuviel des Guten. Das gehört dringend geputzt/renoviert. Bisschen schwarz ist fast jede Dusche, aber nicht so sehr.

Sehr hellhörige Zimmer, Fugen in der Dusche stark verschimmelt. Frühstück dagegen reichhaltig und gut. Auch die Matratzen sind in Ordnung. Für eine günstige Zwischenübernachtung ganz ok. Kein Aufzug.

Decent room with comfy beds and Aircon, however the arrangement of lights and plug sockets was poor considering the location of the beds. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and caring. The only small thing I would mention is the air con couldn't be set any lower than 17c. Apart from that very good value for money.
