Unfortunately, our experience at the restaurant was terrible. The restaurant by itself seems nice, however, there add some things to consider. First of all, would have been much better, if a smoking and non smoking areas would be separated outside. I am pregnant, so I could barely tolerate the smell of cigarettes everywhere around. When we’ve arrived, around 4 pm they were already closing the outside terrace that was facing the lake, so unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the view. I would say the only thing that was great were the drinks-I had a non alcoholic one with fresh lemon juice and mint syrop which was absolutely fantastic but as well as a martini spritz my mom loved! The whole experience was ruined by our server, who took forever to give us menus or take our order in the first place, but I get it, the place was busy. However, after he brought our drinks out he completely forgot about the rest of our order, even though I saw him writing it down. I had to remind him at least 3 times item by item what we got. We have unwillingly spent over 2,5 hours there, waiting for a plate of fries and another one with fries and chicken nuggets. Ice cream tasted much better from a nearby street vendor too. Would not recommend this place and definitely not going back.

Pleasantly surprised. We were 7 people and arrived in front of this restaurant which is positioned next to the Grand Canal between the Palace of Versailles and the Petite Trianon, just in time to have lunch. I figured they had a captive audience and would not have to try very hard to please it's customers. The prices are a little higher than a cafe/brasserie in Paris, on a main street, however, after our visit, it is worth the price. All servers spoke English. The menu was available in English and also online. The servers worked hard to accommodate us all. The food was fresh, of good quality and the desserts did not disappoint. The addition of this restaurant located with a great view, where the Kings and Queens of the world walked before us, is a wonderful addition.

The food was decent and the service on the slow side, but it's one of the better places to eat when visiting Versailles (unless you want to spend a fortune.) Arrive early for lunch to ensure you get a table.

Its location and vibe are good. My wife had a steak (they dont ask how you would like it cooked and defaults to well done) which was like a overcooked brick. She ended up spitting it out and i barely swallowed a bite. We left most of the steak untouched. The pizza and fries were good though. The service... I am not sure if I am biased coming from the States, but the service was awful. Waiters don't attend you, take forever, and ask you to put a tip. We came prior noon when they were not busy and our experience was something like 30min+ to order and get the food, 10min to eat, and another 30 min to be able to get waiter to bring us the check. I had a golf cart on the clock and really did not appreciate the delay here. Anyhow it is right next to the grand cananl boat place and atmosphere is great.

Enjoy a lovely lunch here after touting the gardens and after visiting the palace. After lunch, it is easy to head on to see the Queen's Hamlet and the Trianon palaces from here. Classic French offerings in a lovely, green umbrella covered terrace. Has the vibe of a Renoir party painting. Good service. Restrooms available for customers.

The atmosphere is perfect: intimate in a bucolic setting. Food is very tasty. The service is good. Prices are similar to Paris. Eating there is a great experience.

Fantastic location right next to the Grand Canal. Naturally it is a touristy place, featuring a simple menu with decent price level considering the location. My Omelette was excellent, however, the Caesar Salad lacked the adequate sauce. Staff was helpful.

I expected this place to have average food due to the location but it was surprisingly good. I had onion soup which was the best I've tried, pizza and tarte tatin for dessert. The servers spoke english and the service was fast. The prices are what you expect from a place inside Versailles.

A welcome break from the bustle of Versailles Palace. It has a very quaint and shady courtyard. The menu is somewhat touristy and rhe prices on the high side but that is to be expected at a location such as this. The crepes are excellent and the omlette. The milkshakes could be colder.

Awful. Bring your own lunch. As this is the only restaurant in the area, the service is generally not good, and food was mediocre at best. The drinks were good. They say their sausage is specialty, so ordered one. The sausage and mashed potatoes were cold! Also ordered hamburger, which was okay at best. Very busy as tourists filled the place. A rude, old French couple cut in front of the line as we waited to be seated. Once seated, I asked if I could charge my phone (I even had a charger) and all three staff I asked gave a firm 'no'. The only bright spot was aperol, which was pretty good.

Definitely worth a stop, as you come down from the Gardens of Chateau Versailles. The prices are smaller than in Paris, as we didn't expect that, due to the location.

Fast & delicious! We ordered pizza, which was ready in 5-6 minutes, crème brûlée and wine. Everything was great 👍 Professional service, we got very helpful recommendations what wine to pick and were fully satisfied with our choice. This place became a beautiful end of our exciting trip.

La Flottile offers a pleasant dining experience conveniently located outside the Chateau de Versailles. The food, including the light pizza and French onion soup, tasted delicious and provided excellent value for money. The service was exceptional, and the ample indoor seating was a welcome feature. A nice touch was the complementary bread, even though it was somewhat tough. However, the chili oil provided with the bread added a delightful twist, and the bread softened when paired with the French onion soup, making it enjoyable. One minor hiccup was the presence of a tiny bug in our French onion soup, which was initially offputting. However, considering the indoor/outdoor seating, it was understandable. The server promptly addressed the issue, replacing our dish. Although we would have appreciated further compensation, we were still pleased with the quick response and the overall dining experience at La Flottile.

After a day of exploring Versailles, why not end with an excellent strawberry dessert. Some of the best strawberries I have had for a long time. We also had two excellent pizza's. The service was very good.

This is probably the busiest restaurant in the palace of Versailles, but I’m happy they don’t gouge for prices unlike say Disneyland. The food is decent, they don’t skimp on the cheese for a pizza, it already comes with what we could call “extra cheese.” The steak is like a minute steak, but it’s not too bad. Let me tell you about the Aperol Spritz though… if you like a heavy Aperol and light on the other stuff version of this drink, then this is the one. It’s probably the most Aperol in an Aperol Spritz I’ve had, including the ones that I make myself and experiment with the ratios. Not complaining about it because you get your moneys worth in that sense. If you’re looking for food options in the palace, it’s very limited, but this is a good choice to rest your legs before you go back and gander at how grand kings of France lived while the plebes looked on from outside the gate. I mean, who needs that many fountains anyway?

A place to reminisce I was here 8 years ago and I atethe food, I can boldly say that the taste of home made and the hospitality of the staff was the same as before. If you come to see the Palace of Versailles, be sure to go to this restaurant which is located in the garden of the palace and by the beautiful lake. 💯 percent recommended.

After exploring the Palace and Gardens of Versailles, we stopped in to cool off and relax, and it was quite the treat. We each got an aperol spritz, along with a chocolate sundae. The ice cream in particular was so rich and delicious!! The service as well was top notch, as it was quick and the servers were all very friendly!

Great restaurant to eat at during your visit to palace of Versailles! We got the fish and chips and the salmon pizza! The jus d'orange was fresh and the food delicious. It was busy during lunchtime but there was still no wait to be seated. Our waiter spoke great English which is never expected but helped fill in the gaps in our French. The menu also has subtext in English so it is easy to read!

Cheap pizza but super big portion, very beautiful place on lakeside with boats and vines decorating the restaurant. The best french fries I have ever tasted, its cut differently than other regular fries so its really crispy, must try

We were so happy to be back at La Flottille after nearly 5 years. The restaurant is bustling as usual but service and food was served promptly. Decent place to have lunch while exploring Versailles.
