Ponte dei Salti is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and photographers. Be prepared for crowds, especially during peak season, and consider visiting early in the morning or later in the afternoon. The cold water is invigorating on a hot day, but take necessary precautions.
The water is glacier-fed, making it very cold. Wear non-slip shoes for exploring the rocks. Parking is limited and requires Swiss Francs or a parking app. Consider hiking or using public transport to avoid parking issues. Toilets are available in the parking lot.
It’s like sci-fi but real! Amazing!
Just beautiful and magical.
A small piece of heaven on earth.
Water is dream like-very cold but color is just inconceivable.
Wild and exotic at the same time. Green and clean water surrounded by mountains and forests.

This is the one of my favorite place in my life. Thank you, God for taking me there with my wife. The bridge is beautiful, below is river flow on the rock. My opinion is it could be heaven landscape. We were there on 31 May 2025, 8 pm, had a great memories in Lavertezzo.
Verzasca River @Ticino, Switzerland 🇨🇭 📍 Lavertezzo – Valle Verzasca The Verzasca River is one of the most stunning natural wonders in Switzerland, renowned for its emerald-green water, smooth granite rocks, and alpine beauty. We visited after lunch for a gentle stroll—an ideal way to enjoy the scenery and digest. We parked near Ponte dei Salti, the iconic double-arched stone bridge in Lavertezzo. From there, it’s a short walk to access the riverbanks. Even though the day was cloudy, the vivid green hues of the water were absolutely mesmerizing. The area is popular for picnics, short hikes, and photography. Some visitors were sunbathing or climbing the rocks, and despite the chill, a few even swam. The river’s clarity is incredible—you can see every pebble on the bottom. 🧭 Tip: • Bring non-slip shoes if you plan to explore the rocks. • Swimming is only recommended in calmer sections during warmer months. • Great for nature lovers and photographers. 🅿️ Parking: Designated lots around Lavertezzo (white and blue zones). 📸 Photo Spot: Ponte dei Salti offers postcard-worthy views. 🕊️ Vibe: Peaceful, raw, and uniquely Swiss.
The bridge is close to the road and fits perfectly into the landscape. The water is crystal clear, super clean and very refreshingly cold. You can even swim there in places or jump off ledges or even off the bridge, but you have to watch out for the water level. If you prefer it quieter, you can also go hiking from there. There are various routes there, including shady ones through the forest along the stream. A wonderful place that I visited twice and of course I will visit again
This place is the most beautiful piece of nature I have ever seen. We came from Australia and flew the drone around. The bridge is beautiful, although it is strange to walk across. Come on …. It’s great
Stunning attraction, absolutely beautiful. How a nice relaxing swim or dive right in, but I’ll tell you now it’s freezing even in 30 degree heat.
Visited it twice and got raining twice, just our luck! But the bridge, the river, the town were all unreal! So beautiful! Thanks to the terrible weather, the parking was basically empty and we had the whole place for ourselves
What a beautiful and historical bridge in Valle Verzasca. The first time I had saw this bridge, it was January 2024. I was living a small hotel in this valley. And then every chance I had, I visited again and again this breathtaking place. For summer season, you couldn’t find even a place for sitting. Either Swiss People or European tourists like this place too much. I had scared to jump from this bridge but I believed that It must be very exciting..
One of my favorite places to swim in Verzasca Valley. Turquoise water and a beautiful bridge with Ticino architecture overlooking church and charming villagw. Expect crowds during summer and prepare your trip if you take public transport. You can combine this trip by visiting one of some old villages in the area.
This is one of the most impressive bridges in European Alps! Wonderful, clean river, granite blocks and great architecture of the bridge.
The bridge is beautiful and the water is very clear. If you come during the summer, you will probably be able to play in the water.
I went here in June 2018. We hiked from Brione to Ponte dei Salti. Such a beautiful hike! You walk along the Verzasca river, which is clear and has such a beautiful color. You always walk under the shade of the forest and most of the path was flat. We enjoyed this hike a lot. At the end, you see this beautiful little bridge and you can go for a swim if you want (we didn't do it, we just enjoyed looking at the color of the water). The water is really cold. During the trail, we hardly saw any people but at the Ponte dei Salti, it does get quite busy.
Just beautiful and magical. I advise to do the walk along the river with the kids. Nice games with a wooden ball that you can buy
Wild and exotic at the same time. Green and clean water surrounded by mountains and forests. The bridge is no longer a medieval one but it was reconstructed following the shape of the previous in the '60. Magic place for diving...
Amazing anf stunning place. worth the visit. Parking right there on the street. toilets nearby aswell.
If u are reading this is bc you are planning to visit this site. One only thing im going to tell you. DO IT! Is worth it! It’s like sci-fi but real! Amazing! And when i visit the weather was not even nice, but it made the experience somewhat unique and epic
A small piece of heaven on earth. Definitely worth spending a few hours here. The swim is refreshing, as the waters are cold. The Valle Verzasca river is fed by glacier and snowmelt from the surrounding Alps which keeps the water crystal clear but also very cold even at the height of summer. We came early to avoid the crowds, though walking downstream is another good option if you prefer more space. Just bear in mind you might want some sunshine to warm up after a dip - perfect way to spend a hot day! Tip: avoid flat flipflops. The rocks can be slippery and uneven, so shoes with good grip make it much easier to navigate.
Just breathtaking! Perfect swimming place, people jump from the bridge or rock below to Verzasca river. Water is dream like-very cold but color is just inconceivable. One of the best day trips from Lugano.
It was an amazing place to visit. Parking there can be difficult, especially on a weekend. There is a great hike from the top of the valley to this place. Taking a bus would be a better option if doing this hike.
This is one of the most beautiful and amazing places I have seen in my whole life. It's worth a visit and it takes a few good hours to be here and walk to different locations (bridge, rocks, watefall from both sides of the river). There are a few parking options in the area.
Wonderful place in Switzerland to go swimming and take fantastic family photos. Also, if you have a family member that is a "jumper", this is the place off the bridge. The parking situation is limited. Do try to come somewhat early because it is a popular destination for obvious reasons. The rocks that are covered in water is slippery so be careful when you are in the water. There is a bathroom, basic, in the parking lot. Parking uses Swiss Francs or download the app. One of my favorite destinations during my 15 day stay. Nearby, a bungee place which opens up at 1 PM is another place to visit on your way down the mountain.
An incredible place, almost hidden in canton Ticino. The water is really clean and pristine. On quiet hours, it's also really relaxing to just sit there and listen to the water stream! It's easy to reach with a car, but there is also a local bus stop next to the bridge. There are also a few wooden benches near the bridge. Toilets are also available on the main road. Overall, a great place to be alone or with others.
Stunning swim spot! Some shallow areas good for little ones (with active supervision of course) and most areas very deep with jumping and diving spots (including off the bridge). Be aware water is freezing cold.. go on a hot day and you’ll be fine :)
Such a nice place, I think it's hard to find parking, but we arrived an hour before sunset and there were already spots. Worth a visit
If you’re looking for nature, peace, and amazing views. You need to check out this place. Park 500 meters away from the bridge and hike first to the bridge then cross it and on the other side walk along the river as if you’re going towards where you parked the car. The trekking felt like a beautifully curated walk. Saw some animals. Literally amazing!
Ponte dei Salti is an absolutely stunning place, like something straight out of another world. Crystal-clear turquoise water, dramatic stone formations, and a scenery that feels almost unreal. You can swim in the river — yes, the water is freezing (the kind of cold that makes your soul shiver), but the landscape immediately warms it back up. You can also enjoy a picnic on the massive rocks that look like they belong in The Lord of the Rings — as if hobbits might show up at any moment. For the brave ones, jumping off the bridge is an option… assuming you trust your courage more than your knees 😄 The only downside is that the place can get very crowded, especially during peak season. Timing is everything here. The water level varies a lot depending on the time of year and weather conditions, so make sure to check the forecast before going. All in all, a magical place that leaves a lasting impression — just go early, go prepared, and be ready to fall in love.
