Checkin was efficient and friendly. Our room was well appointed and clean. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has lots of light and entry through the adjoining courtyard makes arrival a good experience. Breakfast was very good. I liked all aspects of the hotel and its staff

This hotel certainly has history and character but its rooms and public areas are now looking dated. We visited on a warm spring weekend - the room was uncomfortably warm and the air-conditioning did not work. When we complained about it we were given conflicting messages - firstly that we needed to set the controls in a specific way; secondly (and likely more accurate) that the hotel doesn't set the air-conditioning to cool until the summer months. This is poor as I would not have booked the hotel if I'd known the air-con didn't work.

Good- Nice rooms, good reception, very good breakfast, clean and very quiet. If you don't carry luggage, 5 minutes walk to train for the Airport, and metro. Less good- Difficult access with luggage, because of the cobblestone street. If you are older or can't easily carry your suitcase, find an easier access hotel.

Wonderful breakfast, lovely staff, very helpful and supportive, great location. Everything was clean and welcoming. The only tiny little thing maybe is that if you have a room facing the street (maybe that's all rooms?), you can't really open the windows because it's really noisy. Except that everything was perfect. Many thanks to all the staff!

Do not get fooled by the photos of the cute passage with the umbrellas as a sign of what you will find in the interior of this hotel. They gave us an attic room that was not even accessible by elevator so we had to go up two high flights of stairs with our luggage to access our room. When we complained, they changed our room to another attic with elevator access. We had paid for a standard room in this 4-star hotel and what we got was completely unacceptable. The room was tiny, the carpet and furnishings were extremely old, dirty and outdated and there was no head room. My son is 6"1' and he couldn't even shower; I'm 5"5' and I hit my head against the wall several times to be able to shower as well. We had booked for 4 nights and they didn't even vacuum the floor or dusted during the whole stay. I had to call the front desk when we returned to the hotel in the evening to tell them, but they said we'd have to wait until the next day to have it cleaned. It was also a very dark room, as they only sources of light were two small lamps. There were not enough outlets to charge our phones unless we unplugged one of the lamps!! The tv was also old, so no smart tv and there no access to streaming platforms or internet-all programming in German. I do not recommend this hotel at all!!!

I stayed at the hotel with my family . The hotel was quiet, so it was nice . The view from my room was very good. By the way, we were very comfortable because our room is in the center, it's very close to everywhere, so it's good. The breakfast variety was not very good. We always ate outside, the atmosphere was good

The hotel is located in the commercial but quiet area in the lovely small alley. The room I had was a suite, very spacious however slightly outdated. Minus one star for the breakfast, it was good with big selection however very crowded, I had problems to find a space at the table.

Super nice hotel in an alley The staff is very nice and helpful. Big nice and clean rooms. We had a room on the 3rd floor, unfortunately the ceiling was slanted so it was not possible to stand and shower. Then it would have been nice to have more international TV channels and not just German channels. The hotel's restaurant has very nice staff and good food

I love the street ! The hotel is literally a street long. The whole street is the hotel ! This is a charming place to have a drink or food (the street not the hotel) The hotel itself is very dated and not well maintained Rooms (privilege) are large and good but so old style !!! Corridors are not well maintained at all Service is good and breakfast is very good too. However it is really another age Staff at bar and breakfast was nice, at reception it is not so pleasant

I had the incredible misfortune to stay at this hotel for my honeymoon. Let me start by saying, the staff were super nice, Kevin in the bar great guy. Hotel, shows really nice rooms on the website, apparently that's not where we would be staying. I like the 50's as much as anyone, but 2 single beds, on our Honeymoon? Another great perk of the room was the cold and cold running water, the non working air condition kept the room at a balmy 79, and when we opened the windows to let the cool night air in, we were able to breathe all the 2nd hand smoke from the restaurant below we could stand. Hotel has a great location, yep, hotel near the downtown, yep, hotel ruin Vienna, no, but did suck. I did call my travel people, nothing happened because of the weekend, I did talk to the folks at the front about the AC. A very nice gentlemen from the hotel came and took a photo of the thermostat. I don't usually complain about anything, this hotel room just sucked for us. It was old, dated, and that can be quaint, but i felt that we were given the leftovers. I'm Done venting.

Pros: - Among the best breakfast I’ve had in Europe - Reasonably priced for the location and rooms, well connected Cons: - We had booked with a king bed but for some strange reason were allotted a room with twin beds. It was late so we avoided the extra walk and talk to fix this. - Housekeeping is extremely unprofessional. Lady just walked in the room while we were inside.

We had a clean comfortable and large room. The staff although very busy were always helpful. Our room was not ready on arrival so we were given a drinks voucher for the restaurant. The breakfast was buffet style, plenty of choice and flasks of coffee on each table. The location is great for public transport but no traffic noise in bedroom. I have knocked a star off for the decor which was a bit dated but that didn't detract from our stay and we would choose again.

Location was good. We stayed in a suite but unfortunately some of the lights in the common area was broken and the shower temperature setting was broken. Reported it after first night but wasn't fixed or offered change of room. Reached out to them after the trip, they offered compensation for the issues. Unfortunately they tried to charge my card instead of refunding. Asked them multiple times for explanation but none has yet been provided. There were some other issues with services at the hotel, especially staying in a suite room. Will not be returning, and potentially to other Mercure or Accor due to this experience.

Great value. The room was a little dated but for the price this was fine. Tasty breakfast, welcoming staff, comfortable bed and handy location. Would stay again.

Only 1 thing means I need to provide this hotel with 5 stars.....I was an idiot and arrived from the UK without an EU plug adapter. Within seconds, the pleasant staff provided me with a suitable adapter, which meant I didn't need to go out and purchase one myself. On other notes, the room was spacious, with a comfy bed, well maintained, great price point, and was well positioned for the city. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

My stay at Mercure Grand Hotel Biedermeier Wien was a mixed bag, with both positive and disappointing aspects. The hotel rooms were satisfactory, providing a comfortable stay and rooms were serviced everyday. However, the service fell short of expectations. Upon our arrival on December 24th at 1:30 PM, we were informed that check-in would be at 3:00 PM, and despite our inquiry about the hotel restaurant, we were later told it was full upon our return at 4:00 PM, leaving us without a Christmas Eve dinner. While the rooms were generally serviced daily, there was a lapse on the second-to-last day when there was no soap in the shower, and it was not replenished. Additionally, the TV in our room didn't work at all, and the bathroom sink had slow water disbursement. The most disappointing incident occurred during breakfast on the second-to-last day, where we experienced outright disrespect from the waitress, Stella. She not only slammed a coffee cup at me but also displayed a dismissive attitude. When my upset wife sought the manager's intervention going to the entry of the restaurant, Stella followed my wife and stood in front of her and said “By the way, my name is Stella” and then left the scene. To our dismay, the restaurant manager was unavailable, and we received an apology from the hotel manager, who wasn't involved in the incident. Despite the reception manager's attempt to compensate with a bottle of wine that we declined as the only request was the apology from Stella but the lack of a genuine (or any) apology from Stella left a sour taste. This unfortunate encounter significantly tainted our perception of the hotel's service and ruined our whole day. In conclusion, while the accommodations met basic standards, the unprofessional behaviour of a staff member marred our stay, leaving us disappointed and questioning the overall quality of service at Mercure Grand Hotel Biedermeier Wien. I had the confirmed reservation for 3 nights but at the check in I was told that I only have reservation for 2 nights. I was told that I must contact the reservation manager on the next day to confirm my third night reservation. I expect that instead of I approaching the reservation manager next day, it should have been done by the reception. Also, I was given the smallest single bed room. Upon request to change the room the response from reception was not polite. This is my third time stay in this hotel and being a corporate customer, I expect more professional and polite staff.

Overall above average experience. Location of the hotel is good , very near to supermarkets and various eating joints. There's no room service at all. We stayed here for 3 days . Room lacked basic amenities like water. You had to go and buy one bottle at double the price from their restaurant. There's no option for inroom dining. Vienna in general closes at 6pm on Sunday. We had to search for food in the night. You have to request them to provide early breakfast box atleast 12 hours prior since their kitchen closes very early. We missed our breakfast on day 3 since there was no option. Rooms were small but comfortable..Breakfast was delicious.

The rooms are worn but rather well cleaned. The service was superb. Our two single bed room had been changed to one queen size bed, but the reception was able to take care of the issue with friendliness, in a swift. The room was nicely quiet. As a negative side, for some reason the AC was always turned off for the night (even if we put it to the coldest and the fan manually on) and the room temperature increased. It would've been nicer to sleep with the AC on, but this was just a minor inconvenience.

Although I did pay a premium for a last minute booking which is mostly my fault, the hotel itself is a beautiful place and I immediately forgave myself for it. The staff was very helpful for a non-German speaker and room was cozy and clean. Loved it and will definitely come back again.

A nice and cozy hotel, on both sides of a small narrow street. The breakfast is not too varied, but it's good. The room was spacious and well heated (I traveled in December, 0 degrees outside).

Great place to stay for a weekend. The location is perfect. You can walk anywhere from here and sightsee the city in a couple of hours. The area is super nice and the train station is 5 min walk, with a direct train to the airport (20’). The staff is very nice. The room furniture is a bit old, although i really appreciated that they are trying to decorate it in a more modern and cute way. Otherwise it would look old. Maybe time to change the carpet or curtains for a 4-start hotel !! The street is super cute. We also got two drinks for free, so very happy and welcomed. However, we were told we would have a bottle of wine in the room (that we would have to pay for) for a very good price. We were extremely interested and excited to have it after the long trip to get to Vienna. There was no bottle and when I asked about it I was told there were not doing it anymore. Even though I was given a paper stating so at the entrance of the hotel (attached that image as well).

Unfortunately a bad hotel and experience with the hotel atmosphere, staff and accommodation. To begin with the staff is extremely rude and dissatisfying. The location is below average. The restaurant is bad and very expensive. The room is dusty and dirty. Icing on the cake…the website says the rooms have “ Working Area…Safe large enough to accommodate a laptop….Business Desk”, this totally untrue, the room I was assigned did not have any desk at all and I heard other digital nomads complaining about this and the staff answering without any care. I really regret spending a week in a very low quality hotel with a very high daily rate. Really bad hotel, I do NOT recommend it.

It was the perfect place to stay in Vienna to unwind. The team were so helpful and the duty manager was brilliant at sorting out any last minute requests to help us get off to a good start travelling. The hotel itself is ace; great location, rooms are delightful, and the atmosphere is just great. We would recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a trip to Vienna.

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was an excellent experience. The hotel has very good location and an overall quiet atmosphere. Our room was spacious and confortable, nicely decorated and very clean. At breakfast there was very good coffee and a variety of delicious food to choose from. I would definitely come back here!

A lovely place I really enjoyed! Rooms are not fancy, but comfortable. Wonderful breakfast and it was a special perk of being able to have on the terrace in the summer, which is beautiful. Centrally located and not expensive for a hotel of this quality. My only criticism is that the floor plan is a little bit like a labyrinth and it is rather difficult to find your way. Signs to elevators would be a great addition.

Had a great experience here. Service staff in the bar and at breakfast really went out of their way for us regularly despite being very busy. Room was clean and nice (note we had an upgraded room so it was a little special). Breakfast buffet truly exceptional - have not had such variety and quality in Europe before. Thank you for the excellent stay.

Stayed here for a three-week business trip. As I was flying home over the weekends, I had three different rooms over the three weeks, and overall I believe the hotel could benefit from a modernization. Rooms are a bit outdated, beds rather hard, and in one of the rooms shower-cabin opened into the sink making it a bit challenging to enter and exit shower cabin. Also, shower cabin not able to fully close, so floor would easily be soaked unless you paid attention. Iron only available in shared room on the third floor, making it less suitable for business trips. The hotel is overall clean, with friendly staff, and the breakfast restaurant cozy and with a large and tasty buffet. While centrally placed in neighborhood with a lively nightlife still very quiet due to its location pulled back from Main Street.

Had a nice stay here, the building, facilities and rooms resemble a traditional old-town cozy hotel. Staff members at the reception and the Sünnhof restaurant were really friendly and in the latter really knowledgeable about Austrian wines. Appreciated the status benefits.

Really enjoyed our stay !!! The room was clean and comfy. The location is pretty central and quiet. The best part was the service: really helpful and nice staff. They helped us with any request we had.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel in August 2021. The Biedermeier turned out to be a great choice located at walking distance (if your feet are strong enough) from Stephansplatz, Museumsquartier and the Central Park - the latter a lovely area with greenery and benches for pausing. Going back in August 2022 will be a pleasure! Already booked a stay for ten nights😊 and already looking forward to enjoy breakfast outside at the patio!

How an hotel spoils a vacation. That's not a 4 star hotel! It all began when we arrived. Our room was on a kind of attic. Tiny, small, and with no elevador. I demanded to be chanced to a decent Room. Not even a 2 star hotel might have such accomidations. In the end of the first day when returning to hotel se found the Room have not been cleaned. On the second day when there were still 30 minutes to end breakfast time se couldn't Stay in the tablet se choose and was "kindly" asked to move to a shared tablet with out guests which I Denied. So se arte out on a tablet Next to Door. Se still have 2 nights. All I want is to live this awful hotel that spoiled my first time on Viena but we were told they won't refund us. Having traveled to Manu countries and cities, always to 4 ir 5 stars hotel, this is the most terrible I have found. The car Park has no connection with hotel. Luggage must be cartões by stairs. Not 4 and I believe not even 3 star hotel.

Stayed here one night. The hotel is in an old merchant alley, where the shopkeepers lived above their stores. Nicely updated, very quiet, comfortable rooms.

Not centric, but Vienna is a big city, everywhere need to use taxo, esp in winter (very cold). Privilege rooms have daily refill of minibar, free of charge. Good breakfast with smoothies, fresh juices, sparkling wine, beautiful breakfast area with transparent roof. Interesting historical building, turned into a hotel. Traditional design from 80ties, feels like it needs to be updated but maybe the style is kept on purpose. Good heating,no problems with hot water, daily cleaning. Pharmacy, supermarket, cosmetics shop and optics all very close.

A cozy hotel close to Stefansplatz with a touch of history. Small and old-fashioned rooms are a throwback to the 19th century, and I loved the atmosphere. The breakfast is limited in choices but quite enough for a good start of the day. Decent coffee. The sitting area next to the lobby and near the conference room is just amazing, overlooking a beautiful inner yard.

Easy check in and check out. Cute room. There was plenty of space and a separate toilet and shower. I wish the actual shower was a bit larger (you have to hunch over) for how large the bathroom is. Otherwise, great stay!

I have been surprised to find in the room a little present and a nice welcome letter from the general manager, since I am an Accor member (with platinum card) . The room offered a very nice atmosphere. The hotel team was very friendly. The hotel is well located, close to the city center.

We stayed here in July middle of summer. Air conditioner didn't work at all we had to open the windows at night it was terrible. Furniture and carpet was old and stained. The shower was in an angle I couldn't even stand up. Building was also old and in need of repair. For the money is not worth it at all. I would never stay here again.
