The name "mourgues" comes from the Occitan word "monk". The site was a former religious property. There are still some remains of the hermitage where Father Crouzet-Lacombe de la Chartreuse took refuge during the Revolution. It is worth going as it has very nice views. The hill is closed to the public during the night.

A really nice park with great views of the Ventoux, castle, Le Bel tower and of Avignon too.

Quintessential Province town, exceedingly picturesque!

Sat here and ate lunch before adventuring to see the castle in the picture. Fabulous view and walk into town.

Is a pretty cool park that has some interesting landmarks. I’d recommend a visit if you’re in the area. The plaques are in French and English.
