We had a drink of their Grimbergen beer sitting outside infront pf the angel statue of Uzupiz and it was one of our great experiences. The beer 🍺 was amazingly tasty as it’s dark. The outdoor dining area gives a chilly view and vibes. The chairs were swings that we enjoyed sitting on them.😅

The term hole in the wall comes to mind at this place but it's absolutely fantastic. You feel a bit out of place as a tourist because it is full of locals but nevertheless it's a friendly warm feel and the beer is fantastic. We tried out a couple of different pale ales/ipas in here all from Lithuania and all were fantastic. Would definitely recommend popping by if you're in uzupis.

UNACCEPTABLE! After so many years of living and traveling in many countries and cultures around the world, this was the first time in my life I was refused being served and was asked to leave the venue unless I repeat a phrase from Ukrainian national anthem with the bartender after she heard me talking in Russian with my friend. This wouldn’t be a big deal (especially given how truly unsupportive of the situation we are) but for some reason it felt so derogative. After so many peaceful and tolerant attempts to explain that we totally understand their feelings, share their resentment, and condemn this aggression, for some unexplainable reason we were still called “unsuitable for the venue” and were asked to leave, and of course we did. Such behavior in otherwise welcoming city of Vilnius was extremely upsetting and surprising.

If you are passionate about beer and work in a bar it’s part of your job to be able to recommend beer. A renegade outpost in the heart of Uzupis* (*Uzupis is a revamped and restored old part of Vilnius that once formed the largely Jewish part of town - pre WWII, and during the communist regime harboured intellectuals, artists, and general dissidents), this beer place provides a raw experience of what once may have been a locale where people would meet over a few beers. The beers are not global brands and neither well known, at least not to a non connoisseur like myself. The whole aura of a historic and long forgotten time where tables and stools are robust and crude, and the proprietor 'forgets' who has consumed what (with a crafty wink), completes the picture of an age gone by but not forgotten. I've never felt more welcome (as a foreigner) anywhere in Europe. Ačiū!

Located right beside the Angel of Uzupis, it's not far from city center and a comfortable walk to any downtown location in Vilnius. If you want a warm place with little space, this is a good option. Such a cool little local bar. Lethal mead at 75% though! The bar tender was SO nice, really friendly older guy who genuinely seemed to enjoy his job which always makes such a difference. Friendly and eclectic crowd of all ages, really cool interior, like a junk yard of awesome things. Oh and the local cider is amazing, so appley and refreshing. We were told we might not get in as we weren't local but had absolutely no issues with that. Great recommendation from our airbnb host!

I was here with my family on monday’s evening (08.01.2024), we wanted to order some drinks. We are from Poland so we talked to each other in polish of course, the barkeeper didn’t like that probably because he thought that it was russian (what doesn’t matter anyway). We tried to order our drinks in another languages, show with our hands what we wanted to say, but the service was not interested and answered in lithuanian. Barkeeper was drunk and angry, started to shout to us something about Ukraine and did not sell us anything. I use to visit this place regularly since two years and I used to be content always, I’m really disappointed because we did not receive anything only because I talked with my family in polish, maybe we should call the police in this case? I’ve never seen something like that in modern european country like Lithuania. We were really polite and the barkeeper treated us really rude and bad because of our nationality. On the weekend you can meet here really nice service and drink a good beer, but if you have a bad luck, you can be treated like as happened to us. Be careful and don’t let to disrespect yourself.
