Great hostel! Good, spacious rooms and facilities. Got a very friendly welcome and good information. The hostel has a familial feel to it. When you're going to Viña del Mar and are looking for a hostel there, I would definitely recommend this one!

Very tight knit and personable. Owner is super cool and friendly and does a great job of getting people to interact and not just stare at their phones. Walking distance to beach, bar scene, and restaurants/grocery. Nice kitchen. Really big and nice bathrooms. Hot water. Big lockers. Comfy bed. Overall great vibes. I didn't want to leave. Stay here without a doubt!

The hostel is located very quiet and safe neighbourhood In most central place of Vina. I felt very welcomed during my stay in Jaguar, thanks to the staff who were friendly and gave some awesome tips about staying in Chile. I was also impressed by the cleaness of public spaces (kitchen, wc, living room rtc.) and the dorm. 5/5

Like most of the other reviews here, my experience at Jaguar Hostel was a good one. It is a very chill place, that feels much more like a home than a hostel. Thank you so much to Este, Mati, and the volunteers 💛 Un abrazo grande

Mattias & Brian were great hosts. It’s clear that they put lots of care into their place- it feels friendly, super clean and safe. It’s in a super safe, cute part of Viña and a very east walk to anything: beach, restaurants, bars, the main bus station. Other perks- huge storage lockers in the 4 bed & women-only bunk room, they’re there 24 hours, and the outside area WOW! - there’s a grill, couches, and chairs for people to hang out or even do work on their laptops (there’s plenty of power outlets routed around outside). Two things that these guys went above and beyond on: calling around and arranging to find us a last-minute car rental and kindly staying up to do our laundry OVERNIGHT for the next morning when we were leaving. I don’t know how they keep costs so low but they are seriously the best - you won’t be disappointed booking with these guys.

Great hostel with wonderful staff that truly cares about their guests. They went above and beyond to help me plan a whole day in Valparaiso. The hostel also had a very chill aland relaxing vibe to it. One of my favorite hostels through my whole backpacking trip!

My favorite hostel in Chile. What other reviewers have written is true - there is a "homey" feeling at this place. The owners are so friendly and personally run the place. Everything was clean, welcoming, and functioned very smoothly for the 2 weeks I stayed here. Highly recommend.

A sweet family business and quaint place for an overnight trip to Chile’s coast. An older home with the feel of the original hostel concept. The beds are super comfortable and the staff all friendly and accommodating. Located conveniently and within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, markets, and bus station.

Avoid avoid avoid Place is nice. Owner is a control freak from hell. You do not feel welcome here. Like coming back to the hostel at anytime past midnight he gets angry. Even said to me that he wants to sleep and why I coming back late. He stole my bottle of wine also. If you are a solo female traveller this place is not for you. He didn't want to let a girl in that arrived at the hostel early. He made her wait outside in the cold. I couldn't even eat my breakfast at 9 am because there is a lock on the kitchen. Came downstairs at 9 and he just stared at me for waking him up. He tries to control anything you do . Of 73 countries this is the worst hostel I have ever stayed at. Waste of money and ruined my experience there.

The service of the staff is very good. They were advising us and being very flexible. Good environment, you can play guitar etc. We were staying in the dorm, good experience.

Jaguar Hostel is one of the best hostels I stayed at. Feels more like a home than a hostel! The patio and hang out area is very good to relax and meet new people. Matias and Esteban, the two hosts are so nice and have a lot of tips and recommendations about what to do in the area. The hostel is in a really good location, so you can easily do day trips or just go to the beach, which is right next by. I loved my stay here and would definitely recommend!!

BEST PLACE EVER... Lived at this place 4 months ago when I was backpacking through South America. I am back in Sweden now and just remembered that I did not leave a review. Best thing about the place is Esteban, Matias and Kiwi! You feel like a part of the family when you live there. Would go back here 10/10 times. Even got so good friends with Esteban and Matias that we are sending them something from Sweden where we live! Only thing I beg from someone living here... Make Esteban better at FIFA, its tooooo easyyyy. Sui!

A home in the city :) A very cozy atmosphere, very quiet although right in the centre of the city. The owners do their best to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable! And the cutest cat on earth helps with that too :)

Jaguar Hostel is a great hostel! It feels more like a home than a hostel. Friendly owners and staff, and an easy place to meet other travelers. The amenities are clean and they have huge lockers for your things. Matias and Esteban give great recommendations for what to do around the area. Would definitely recommend staying here. :)

🙂 Top location. The staff were very friendly. It was a very clean and comfortable hostel, they keep it low at night for people who try to sleep upstairs. I booked a private room, it was quite spacious and the bed was really comfy. We had a bbq in the garden, cooked by the staff, I liked meeting the other travellers. 🙁 Kitchen is a bit small and tired, it could do with improvement. Fridge was too small for the amount of guests.

HOME SWEET HOME!! ❤️😃 This hostel has an amazing atmosphere, where you really feel at home! Martha and Fabrizio, the owners of the hostel, are the most warm and welcoming people I’ve ever met! I can recommend everybody coming to Viña Del Mar to stay at this beautiful hostel!!!

Unlike in all other hostels that we have visited in Chile, we didn't feel welcome here. It's a very small hostel in a very old house, and it seemed like the staff/volunteers were just bothered by the guests. Unfortunately the breakfast was just 4 slices of toast with cheese, a small yogurt and tea. In addition, our room was cold although it was December, as there was no heating.

This is a party hostel. And if you like that, this is a hostel for you. Due to the old house, walls are thin and doors are not in any way isolated, so noise/music after midnight travel easily from the downstairs outdoor lounge area into the rooms. And so does all the smoking fumes. You will hear the snoring from the dorms in your private room. Even when staying in a private room, you will need earplugs. The rules state "silent after 1am please". Staff is very friendly and they do take care of your well. Breakfast is good (from 8:30am), and they can also arrange vegan breakfast if you so like (which was great!). Location is perfect! During my stay I was unable to pay with credit card as the machine was broken (and had to pay the penalty fees when withdrawning from the ATM. It is possible to pay with PayPal, but with a fee of 7%).

I tried to look for a place not that expensive but near the beach in Viña and the best I found was Jaguar. Trying to find this hostel was a little difficult at first cause they don’t have a big sign with the name so if you don’t look careful you could get a little lost. The staff were great, super nice and friendly but I must say the rooms are very very old so you could hear everything, front people walking to talking or closing the doors . I also thought it was gonna be closer to the beach but it wasn’t, had to take a Uber or bus. Breakfast was also just ok, I had only the toast and orange, food was just average. If you are looking for a night then I will say go for it but I think you could find something a little more centric and less noise than this hostel around the area.
