My spouse and 9 year old had such a lovely stay at Le Gaimont. Host Matthieu and Elisa were welcoming when we arrived and gracious and accommodating through out our 2 day stay. The courtyard felt so peaceful. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well in the evenings. The towel warmer in our bathroom delightful. We enjoyed and appreciated the in room water and coffee. Our room and the social areas were clean, spacious, and pleasantly decorated. The Continental Breakfast ample and delicious -best croissants on our 9 day trip! -we all wanted to stay and enjoy their lovely tranquil property longer. I hope to return again soon.

I very much enjoyed my one-night stay at Le Gaimont. Matthieu and Elisa were very welcoming - especially considering I was very much earlier than the official check-in time! Lovely house, rooms decorated tastefully, bathrooms very modern, bed comfortable. Decent sized, heated swimming pool and very nice breakfast. Not too many restaurants within walking distance but their recommendations for places within 10mins drive were good. Definitely on the list for a (longer) return visit.

There are not enough superlatives to describe this lovely, historic maison d’hôtes. The hosts were always available and attentive to our comforts and questions. La Chambre de Maître bedroom, in the west wing of the main house, was bright and very spacious and tastefully decorated. The large bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet and dark at night. The bathroom was spacious with a giant tub. Good water pressure and lots of hot water. We were particularly happy to discover there are common rooms for relaxing and reading (you will enjoy the eclectic collection of books/magazines and original art) and numerous quiet exterior spaces with comfortable seating. The property is as lovely and as stately as indicated in the website photos. It’s an easy walk up the street to the vineyards above the property which offer lovely views over the area. The petit déjeuner was perfect with first-quality, crispy large croissants (the best on our two week trip-“les meilleures viennoiseries de la région”), homemade confiture, baguettes, fruit, juices, cheeses and more. Elisa prepared lots of great coffee and was there each day in the vaulted breakfast room to greet her guests and offer tips for local restaurants and daily activity. She’s very fluent in English but she and Mathieu were generous and patient allowing us to try our French. In short, we have the highest recommendations for this Maison d’hôtes. The lovely welcome and attentive service you will enjoy from Mathieu and Elisa ensure a pleasant and relaxing séjour. Sometimes you find special places and experiences when you travel in France and this was definitely one of those for us. We hope we will be able to visit again.

My family and I stayed in the South Wing Suite for four nights in May 2023. We had a fantastic time, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Matthieu and Elisa are caring and fun hosts, who treated us like family. Staying in this beautiful home, surrounded by tranquility and wonderful people (the other guests were equally engaging), was 10x better than staying in a typical hotel. Vouvray is a great area to base your exploration of the Loire Valley.

A very comfortable chateau in Vouvray. It is a perfect location with a 20-30 min drive to all the tourist towns and locations. The owners were very nice and communicated with me via WhatsApp to ensure we were comfortable or needed anything during our stay. I had to mail an item somewhere and they graciously printed out the shipping label and actually took it to the post office. Breakfast was from 9 am-1030am and Elise offered to cook eggs, but had plenty of pastries, meats, cheeses, and yogurt too. She was even nice enough to accommodate an early breakfast since I had tickets for a 9 a.m. entry. They have a very modern air conditioning system so while the building is older, it kept us cool during the 90-degree weather! A cute pool is there too if you want a swim. If you are into a rustic, authentic accommodation while in this area, this is the place to be!

From the moment the gates to this little oasis open, you feel at home. The hosts live on the property too and do not shy away from making a nice chat and in our case, providing two great restaurant tips (and reservations) and guidance for good brocante and castles to visit. The rooms are carefully decorated (we stayed in L’Aile Sud) with great taste and are well spread over the property. The gardens are beautifully maintained by the CGO (chief garden officer) Mathieu ;-) The cute rabbit hopping over the grass makes the scenery complete. Thank you so much Elisa and Mathieu for making this a perfect stay. We could not wish for anything more (maybe only to stay longer!). We’ll remember this and can highly recommend for anyone to experience the same.

There are places which feel like you would love them to be your home! Le Gaimont is definitly one of those for me and after 3 days staying there i felt sad leaving.I am already thinking of the next time I am able to come and enjoy this unique place . The house is charming, the decoration is unique and beautiful, the breakfast delicious and the hosts are warmly welcoming. Waking up to the sound of birds every morning and to the peaceful view is a blessing! Cant wait to try out other rooms, each of them has a unique vibe, I definitly will be back!

Absolutely wonderful stay! We will come back when the weather is warmer and nicer to enjoy Le Gaimont's outdoor spaces as well :-) We were 4 with 2 different types of room so we've experienced: - a more "standard" room (in the main house) that was very nice, comfy and (very) spacious. - and a "troglodyte" room that was exceptional: It's definitely an experience on its own: these rooms have been very well renovated and everything is in the rock/cliff, including the bathroom (shower + bath), that is the "deepest" part of the room. It's very well done and safe of course. We took a lot of pictures hahaha. The breakfast room was also "troglodyte" and beautiful with a lot of light. The breakfast itself was plentiful and delicious. Finally the host was very nice, we felt welcomed and comfortable :-) A great stay overall, I highly recommend!

Le Gaimont is an incredibly special place. If we could give 6 stars we would. The lady who owns and runs it is absolutely delightful. The rooms are very tastefully designed. The breakfast is an exceptional array of local produce. We will certainly be back! Thank you, Elise.

“The property is exquisite and Mathieu is an excellent and charming host. Part of an old vineyard, many rooms are carved out of the limestone cliffs and the entire property has a lovely atmosphere. We were greeted with wine and a swim on the pool on arrival followed by dinner at the superb local Italian restaurant (which is open on Sundays). The room was full of character and beautifully appointed, and a delicious continental breakfast was in the garden. The location is perfect for visiting the local chateaux. The visit far far exceeded our expectations. Can't wait to go back!”

We LOVED this bed and breakfast. The house is a gorgeous renovated old mansion and winery. My in-laws stayed in a room in the main house which was impeccably clean, spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and had air conditioning! My fiancée and I stayed in one of the rooms in the roche, an old wine cave beautifully renovated into bedrooms. We loved it - it was cool, clean, and comfortable, and very unique. The garden was absolutely marvelous and teeming with flowers and beautiful plants. As a gardener and plant lover, I loved that the plants were labeled :-). The pool was just lovely to take a dip at the end of a hot day. Matthieu was the best host we’ve encountered at a bed and breakfast. He was friendly and welcoming and a pleasure to chat with. He offered us a glass of wine by the pool which we loved, and had great local recommendations. Breakfast was amazing - in a beautiful sunlit room in the rock with high ceilings and a big wooden table, with a ton of food, very delicious baguette and croissants and pastries/cakes from the local bakery (I’m very particular about bread and pastries, and these were delicious! We even stopped there to buy a cake to go on our way out of town ). There were several coffee and tea options, yogurt, fruit, butter, jams, honey… just amazing. We wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely come back! We recommend staying here without hesitation!

A piece of paradise in France with amazing gardens, gorgeous rooms & interior and a delicious breakfast. It's very calm and quiet, while still close to different cities. The hosts are just the nicest people ever, always ready with recommendations or help in planning your trip.

What a dreamy place to stay at. Perfectly off the busy roads in the middle of vineyards, hidden by a wall is this gem of a place. The gardens are gorgeous, rooms just beautiful and best yet is the service! I cannot recommend this place enough and would gladly visit again.

Before arriving at Le Gaimont, we spent a week outside of Paris surrounded by family and friends in celebration of our daughter's wedding. After days of balancing and coordinating the needs of others, we arrived in Vouvray with the married couple, all of us exhausted and in need of relaxation. We could not have chosen a better place to decompress than the hidden treasure that is Le Gaimont. From the moment we stepped through the wooden gates, we felt like we had found a private oasis of peace and tranquillity. The gardens are lovely with secret nooks for chatting or reading and are shaded in part by an old olive tree; there is a heated pool camouflaged by stately trees and bamboo as well as the interesting architecture and night lighting of the chateau. The hosts Elisa and Matthieu could not have been more welcoming or informative. The rooms were beautifully and whimsically decorated - and met all of our practical needs. The breakfast the next morning was situated in a lovely sunny space and was delicious. Our sole regret is that we were only able to stay one night at Le Gaimont before heading back to Paris. We know we will return again to the Loire Valley, and we already look forward to staying for a longer time at Le Gaimont.

Thanks so much for hosting us and our young children. The breakfast was wonderful. I am still thinking about the croissants. We loved our family room upstairs and the pool. We showed up for a three night stay with no plans or reservations and Elisa recommended great activities or restaurants for us each day. She also let us use some of her baby gear so we could have a more comfortable stay. We had an amazing time, all thanks to Elisa and Matthieu. I hope that we get to come back one day!
