    منتزه الحرية كان يسمى ميدان الملك والمقصود هو الملك فاروق ملك مصر والسودان في عهده ثم سمي بميدان الاتحاد لان فريق الاتحاد وهو أشهر فريق كرة بمدني مع فريق الاهلي طبعا - كان يتمرن في هذا الميدان وناديه جار لهذا الميدان من الناحية الغربية.. ثم سمي هذا الميدان بميدان الحرية
