First time ever visiting here and really enjoyed it. Very busy for a late Saturday afternoon but we were lucky enough to find a couple of seats .

Amazing Sunday lunch - 3 courses for £15!! Service, food and atmosphere are second to none. Love the beauty and elegance of this stunning pub. Food was served quickly, hot and fab portions, as well as quality and well presented. Will be back again very soon. Many many thanks!!

Lovely pub, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Good pints at fair prices and food smells fab, not tried it yet. Dog friendly, plenty of room and nice decor. Good music at a sensible volume and busy enough for solo travellers to chat. Ticks all the boxes really 👍

Great pub.the staff are very friendly and helpful. I had the moo traditional pie it was lovely the prices are very good. The pub looks like it is or should be a listed building. Would recommend a visit the food is excellent. Its over the road from the old exchange station.

Sunday lunch at this quaint little pub with a great location in the city centre.. Have to say best ever. Five x 3 course roast dinners and drinks for £90. Good vegetarian options if required. Highly recommended. 5 stars

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Cider choice was limited, but good. Main (railway burger) was AMAZING! Chips beautifully seasoned, and onion rings crispy and fresh. Pudding was a touch disappointing in comparison, but not bad.

Lovely food nice pub

We had salt and pepper chicken for £6.95. To be honest I wasn't expecting much for that price. It was the best pub meal I have had in a long time. Service was fast, staff were friendly and everywhere was clean and tidy. Most places would charge that much for a starter. Oh and the beer was perfect. We will definitely return to try out more of the menu....and the beer of course.

Very good Victorian city centre local. Stopped for a cask pint and had Wainwright's. Very well kept lively pint served in choice of straight or jug glass. Lots of seating in comfortable leather arm chairs, couches and benches. Good stop.

Lovely pub, quite large but with separate parts. There were 10 of us & still plenty of room sat at 2 tables together. Good range of drinks, and in the summer there's a small outside part with tables and chairs. Sometimes there's also a BBQ there in the warmer weather. Recommended.

Superb Sunday roast.Salmon and prawn cocktail starter, roast pork main and strawberry cheesecake dessert for £12.95.Roast potato could have been crisper but that's a minor quibble. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Drinks at a reasonable price. Been here before but this was the first time having meals. Well worth a visit if you are travelling to Liverpool.

We were looking for a place to eat as we were taking our son down for University. Read the reviews beforehand and we had a lovely lunch. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was lovely......can recommend the All Day Breakfast. Will definitely be returning on our next visit

I called in to the Railway on my way home from work yesterday evening. I intended to just have a pint but after reading the menu and seeing the good choices and fair prices decided to have a meal. I had the rump steak with large chips, mushrooms and tomatoes served in a sauce of your choice. The food was absolutely delicious. It’s a really lovely pub as well.

A nice interesting decor in this old pub with lots of rooms, easy to navigate as they all encircle the bar. You can enter and walk through the whole pub to see it all and exit by the same door. They also do food!

Absolutely fantastic wee pub in central Liverpool. Great atmosphere, loads of wee cosy places to sit. The stained glass gantry is spectacular, and the beers were good. Recommended by a tour guide at The Liver Building and it didn't disappoint. Had steak frites for an amazing £9.50! Brilliant

Super atmosphere and great food. Steak Fries was the best price/performance I have ever experianced. Almost all dishes are below 10 pounds and portions are huge.

Ordered two different pies and veg etc. Husband got what he ordered after waiting about 45 minutes. Looked good even though it was a long wait. I got the wrong pie. Sent it back and waited another 40 minutes for the right pie but with the wrong accompaniments. Ate it anyway as I was very hungry. Had to ask for the filthy table to be cleaned before we ate. No apologies or asking if the food was ok. Bar staff good and working very hard. Very noisy pub. Won't bother going here again sadly.

The food is okok. There is room for improvement. The sticky toffee pudding was good. calamari as well. Atmosphere is chill and fun. Tables are a bit small for small groups.

Was reccomended to us by a friend and it certainly didn't disappoint. Lovely friendly atmosphere, in a real traditional pub. We all had a meal and it came freshly cooked and piping hot, which we thoroughly enjoyed so much so, we have rebooked for tomorrow. Great place to visit.

Visited on a Thursday afternoon - seat yourself and order at the bar. Ordered a couple beers, scouse, onion rings, nachos, and halloumi wrap. With the exception of the nachos (we're used to California quality nachos, haha) - everything was delicious! My husband loved the Scouse and dipped onion rings into it. The onion rings were very good and breaded so nicely. I loved the halloumi wrap and seasoned fries that came with it. Would definitely recommend and visit again! Staff was friendly and atmosphere was very quaint and nice.

Great food, nice relaxing atmosphere in the rear snug. Staff were attentive. A little Gem! Prices were competitive and the portions were really good.

amazing bangers and mash for a really good price! sadly no pale ale or ipa available on tap when i was there, but still highly recommend going there - if you have some room left get some apple pie with custard- you won't regret it!!

Staff are so friendly, quick service ordering food and drinks at the bar. Food was lovely and was served quickly. Very reasonably priced. Staff kept checking if the food was ok and if we needed anything. We will definitely be visiting again.

I stubbed upon this gem of a pub. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff. They will make sure you’re catered to. All are welcome and most of all they do steak on Wednesdays 3pm - 8pm. It’s was soo good, I couldn’t finish it all 😅. Go here. Eat and enjoy. P.s. they ran out of wine glasses 🍷

Lovely old fashioned pub but sadly food was not great my husband's burger was lovely but my fish and chips less so staff were friendly toilets could do with a upgrade

The service was prompt and very warmly, I had the vegan pie with mash it was very nice but the taste was not as mushroom as it stated but more of a pepper gravy taste still very nice indeed with baby mushrooms inside.

Nice quiet and traditional. Although it is a relaxing environment there is still a buzz and atmosphere about the place. Will definitely call in for a pint again 👍

Had a fabulous sunday lunch and a few drinks here yesterday 10.10.21, the prices are very reasonable and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Silly me, never rang up and booked a table, but they were kind enough to fit us in, just had time for a drink and then there was a table ready. Will definitely go again. A hidden gem in the city centre.
