We booked our wedding at this venue at the end of 2018 for October 2020. Given what happened in between those dates, we we're told the hotel had taken on a contract from the government which would clash with our new wedding date. The hotel returned our deposit which was expected at the least but basically told us to find a new venue. We must of had 3 or 4 different point of contacts whilst we held our booking. I wouldn't book anything with them again.

Please do not waste your money staying here. This hotel was a disaster from start to finish. We arrived to find nobody minding the reception area, leaving us hanging around waiting. There is a strong smell of smoke throughout the entire hotel, very unpleasant. The room was disgusting, the carpets were all stained, there were drips down the walls. There was litter from previous guests (cigarette paper and empty sugar satchets) on our room floor. The double room is really two single beds pushed together which is disappointing. Our bathroom door did not close, the taps on the sink and shower are very loose, you have to be careful whilst using them. The temperature of the hotel was ridiculous, worst nights sleep I’ve experienced, as the air con barely works. I did not feel particularly safe in this hotel either. We were also charged twice for our room. The staff were not great either, upon checking out we were left waiting for receptionists to finish a conversation among themselves before serving us. We also had 2 large bags and shopping bags so we wanted to use the hotel lift which was another hassle as the staff were using the one life that was in use to move things around in the hotel leaving us paying guests to take the stairs with heavy luggage. I am very shocked at the ratings of this hotel as I feel generous even giving it 1 star, the hygiene and cleanliness is absolutely disgusting. I will never be back and would advise anyone looking into this hotel to AVOID.

Bought an afternoon tea voucher for 2 from buy a gift which was excellent value for money. We were served a selection of sandwiches, warm scones with cream and jam and a selection of cakes. Food was very tasty and filling. We were given the option of tea or coffee and had tea, we were given a refill during the seating. Really enjoyable experience room was really nice decorated and serving staff really pleasant and helpful. Personally would have preferred less cakes and more sandwiches.

We were lucky enough to have lunch at this gorgeous listed building, converted into a hotel/restaurant. As soon as you walk in, there is a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the sumptuous black and white decor made me feel like I had stepped back in time. The restaurant is amazing. The staff were very welcoming and looked after us during our meal. I am a definite foodie and I was not disappointed, each course just got better and better and was presented on the plate like a work of art! I highly recommend the duck which just melted in the mouth but the highlight for me was the little chocolate pot dessert which was just pure decadence! Can’t wait for my next visit.

Fantastic service. food was lovely amazing choice of different meals and desserts something for everyone. good portions. delicious. highly recommended. I will definitely book again.

I am so disappointed to have to post just one star and it's because of the staff who were very friendly and this is the first ever negative review I've given. Our room was very spacious but wasn't very clean so I gave everything a clean but no matter how much dettol spray I bought it couldn't get rid of the stench of smoke. It appeared to me and a few other guests that the hotel had homeless people staying there which I think is very kind of them but when I have to rush my children through the reception area because it is full of people off their faces! I didn't feel safe at all and I feel that they should let you know beforehand that this is happening as it's not exactly cheap. I strongly recommend that you avoid this hotel it's not suitable for families at all. I want to point out that the staff were great but the hotel was shocking!

On arrival after reading some bad reviews we were abit concerned but I can report these reviews are wrong in my opinion. Staff - are very friendly and chatty willing to help when required. Room - my wife and I came for a two day break with our dog, the room was very spacious and clean Location - the hotel is a short walk from the train station shops bars and restaurants. Parking - there's no parking but we were told about parking on Dale street which is a 3min walk max. The car park is small and in plan sight cost for the day is £8 . Would we recommend this place in a word YES

Über 440 £ verloren da Ersatz Gutschein während der Pandamie so ausgestellt wurde dass dieses von mir nicht in Anspruch genommen werden konnte (Quarantäne und Einreise Bestimmungen / Flugverfügbarkeit / Flugpreise / Jahreszeit). Das Hotel hat schon auf meine zweite Rückfrage (zugegeben sehr spät nachgefragt) zur Verlängerung nicht mehr reagiert. Ob die Zimmer und der andere Service so sind wie in den anderen Bewertungen geschrieben kann ich nicht beurteilen... Vielleicht hatte ich ja Glück dass ich nicht hin musste.

It was pleasant living here! The accommodation is very nice and comfortable. Will totally suggest to those who is travelling for works as it near/ central of the town. The services were good! 👍🏻

We stayed a weekend and have been back since. Originally we were disappointed, as the room we booked smelled of cigarette smoke. Considering neither of us smoke, we found this unbearable. The lady at reception didn't offer to change our room and didn't seem phased, so we packed our bags intent on leaving the next day. The gentleman checking us out dealt with the situation much better. Offered us free breakfast while he changed our room. Not only did we receive an upgrade, but a complimentary bottle of prosecco and handwritten apology. Far more than what we expected. A lovely touch. Nu Nu from the ( hope that's spelled right) restaurant also made our stay enjoyable! Lovely service from both him and Bianca, great conversation and made time for everyone even though he seemed flat out! Breakfast was brilliant. We look forward to our stays there now, as the service is exceptional

I am being generous in giving this hotel two star We wont be returning, when we arrived the floor was dirty, there was spilt juice in freezer that wasn’t wiped up and stained. The sink was blocked up so the water wasn’t draining, We stayed 4 nights and the housekeeper had only been in the room once during our visit to change bedding, bins and towels. According to reception, you have to request housekeeper to supply fresh bedding and towels each day. So we did. Receptionist made a note, Following day still no sign of housekeeper. Approached guy at reception who was helpful and friendly and supplied towels.Overall cleanliness was poor and needs improved. Staff were friendly and responsive.

Stay away from this hotel. They conned me out of hundreds of pound because of the pandemic. Absolute joke of a company.

Very poor stay, first room we was given and the key wouldn't work, so back to reception who changed the key card, back to room opened door a smell of smoke hit you, the room was dirty many flys flying round, huge amounts of dust around television and wind sills (talking months of dust / dirt). Went back to reception again and complained and was put in upgraded room and given a bottle of wine by way of apology which was cleaner but still wasn't great, broken toilet constantly running, air con been disconnected, many tiles broken in bathroom, knobs and tap fronts missing, wardrobe broken. Asked for a fan didn't come for a hour when it arrive the fan was broken asked for it to be changed and was questioned as didn't believe we could tell if the fan wasn't working or not? Finally 2nd fan arrived approx 1130 at night. Breakfast was good though and the staff on breakfast was great and attentive which really was the only plus for this hotel, I think when it was done up would have been really nice but it just hasn't been maintained and now very run down.

My favourite Hotel in Liverpool. Always had a great, spacious room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Not a big fan of the bar area, and I wouldn't recommend the restaurant - but who goes to Liverpool to sit in the Hotel anyway!? Still highly recommended

I can only comment on the bar because we went for afternoon tea. Nice, clean and spacious bar with art deco (I think) wallpaper. Food was good, but the third tier "sweets" were very sugary and seemed shop bought. Service was good with friendly staff.

Stayed for 3 nights in a double room, the room was clean, tidy and came with a bathtub which was a bonus! Beds were comfy, although were actually two singles which we had to push together. Only complaints are the room temperature, which was way too hot even with a fan and air con constantly, and the lack of view outside. Only one mood lighting fixture worked too so we had to use the overhead lighting constantly which was a bit uncomfortable. Overall though, I was very satisfied with my stay. My highest compliments go to the staff, who were all absolutely commendable, so friendly and went out of their way to help us. Extra thanks to the breakfast manager who served a whole dining room singlehandedly! The hotel was very conveniently located in Liverpool centre and I’d definitely stay here again.

What an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish; from friendly staff to beautiful food; we stayed here for one night and had a 3 course evening meal in the restaurant; beautifully presented, plentiful, fresh and tasty. In fact we loved our stay so much I have booked to come back in 8 weeks.
