I had a great stay at this guesthouse. The location is very good, by a lake and away from the madness of the main road. You can sit at the porch, watch the sunset (or the rain) and feel you are away from it all. The house itself is very simple (don't expect any luxuries) but it's brand new and super clean. The air-conditioning works really well too. There aren't facilities to make your own food but the owner, Palitha, who is a lovely, caring and helpful man, will try his very best to help you find some places where you can eat. In fact, there is a decent restaurant and supermarket about three minutes away where you can get food. You can even bring it to the house and have it there, with a nice, cold beer. I strongly recommend this place because of it's location, tranquility, cleanliness and of course, kindness of the host.

We had a Great stay at the sunhill lake tourist rest! Palitia really made our trip to Anuradhapura as he gave us great recommendations on where to eat and go. He even brought us to the restaurant with his own tuktik! The place is super clean, the shower is warm and the ac is brand new. On top of it all it’s situated right next to a lake where you can spot pelicans and other wild life. I would highly recommend this!

Large and very clean rooms with good view . And the friendly staff with hospitability . Location is also good ( about 500m to new town by walking from the guest house)

Absolutely perfect, the family is lovely and can't do enough for you. It's located next to a lake with birds singing, walking along the lake takes you to a local market. We arranged tours with Sunhill which went well and hired bikes through them. Good location for a visit to the sacred city.

Our best stay so far, great value for what you pay, owner gives great advice where to visit and hired us his own old school bike. 10/10

I enjoyed staying here. It is a lovely and helpfull family and the location is good. I travel the world budget and it fits perfectly within my travels. Much gratetude towards this place.

A great place to stay very well located and within a few minutes you are on the wall to walk around the lake and late in the afternoon wonderful views of birds flying in after a day of foraging. The rooms and owner staff are just great. The owner was very informative, directed us to nice restaurant and a ton of information about the area and sites to see. Really recommend this place

Amazing place to stay before or after visiting the Ancient City. The rooms are very clean and confortable. The highlight is that the location is in front of a lake where thousands of birds go to rest in the evening. You get to watch a truly amazing scenery without the cost of the expensive national parks. Eagle's, pelicans, varans and even snakes, beautiful for nature lovers in the heart of the city.
