The food is very good,we enjoyed our dinner tonight we had the steak burrito,taco dinner,tortadinner all come with rice and beans.We ordered guacamole but it did not come with chips when we asked for chips they charged us a additional $2.75 another note this restaurant is cash only. Great place to come and enjoy authentic Mexican Food!!!

Hungry for Mexican? This place does not play. You order, They are ON it. Food is ready super fast. Their nachos are also very unique as cut tortilla loaded with the toppings on each piece.

My only issue is this is a cash only establishment. I've passed by this area for years to and from northwest Indiana and it never appeared on my food radar until yesterday since I was at a pub minutes away for the Bear Game. This steak burrito is a serious over a lb. Don't let the pics fool you. I am not big on flour tortillas, but you can't get tortillas this big. This flour tortillas was lightly grilled so it's a sturdy for support. So worth every peso I paid for it.

Food was a fair price and served well on a detailed plater, the portion size was good enough for a big boy or someone who wanted the big burrito ( I recommend the steak burrito dinner) And for being in the Waukegan Illinois area this place was extremely clean workers are constantly cleaning the area which is a must in this day and age with so people being sick in public. Give this place a A ratings so don't be fooled by the old building you should check it out.

El Famous is what most others are measured by. Its simple, good food at a great price. Nothing fancy. Just good Mexican food. It is a CASH ONLY place. They do have an ATM available inside as well. They do have a drive thru as well. I would recommend calling in your order first when using the drive thru. I've been going here since '94. And its the best to me. Give it a try for yourself. Bring cash. And enjoy!!

The food is good, but it seems like you have to wait longer for your food if you're not Hispanic... I came and placed an order, someone came 15 minutes after I placed my order... They got their food served in 10 minutes while I still had to wait smh
