Waiting for Uit & Meer (the burnt down restaurant next to the fort) to re-open. They were always such a great spot to park the bike and have a lunch. And hoping they get the same friendly staff back...

Within very close vicinity to weesp, this is an amazing place to visit. There is a nice open restaurant wherein you can sit down and enjoy some delicious food with view of the canal. Nice place to even go along with the kids.

Unexpectedly bumped into this nice little place for a break during my skating tour. Unfortunately the diner around the corner couldn't serve me a tuna sandwich because it was after 16:00, since it was 16:05. Very lovely employees tho.

Interesting fort, part of the 'Stelling van Amsterdam '. Easy walk around the area, and many local animals and Interesting story on the 'plofhuisjes'. Several other forts in the area, so you can do a number in 1 tour.

Closed for now. Worthy area to ride your bike past. A sign at a fenced off area says something (in Dutch) about rising from the ashes, like the Phoenix. A path to the right takes you a bit closer to the fort, across a moat. A fellow told me this fort was the easternmost of the 39 forts in the defense ring around Amsterdam started in 1890. Beautiful historic ford next to the water. There's a lunch place next to it with a view on the river. Beautiful place for walks and making pictures.
