Exactly the place we have been looking for! Having some distance from the noisy street and enjoying the beautiful nature, great people and super tasty homemade food! Alex and Eddie are always helpful and you feel super comfortable. You can get to the great surf beach by bike or walk in just a few minutes. We can only recommend this little oasis, we would come again anytime!

Look it's super easy Ekuku is the place to be. I was there from December 21 to January 22 and just had a time of my life. To wake up in the middle of nature with the singing of the birds and many other animals and to be able to look forward to the evening adventures and the surf of the coming day was the greatest thing for me. If I could I would book the next flight right back. Alex and Edi are gold. Had a bit of a rough patch for a while and they gave me everything I needed and more. I am very grateful to them. I definitely want to go back to the Weligama area and don't think twice about where I book my accommodation. Big love to Ekuku!

This is THE place to be! Away from the main busy road, yet less than 10min walk from the beach, this place is peaceful, calm and surrounded by beautiful nature. The hosts put so much live in building beautiful functional houses and a community feeling. Calm, beautiful and very peacefull place owned by French guys. So, it means you will have delicious food 😄the location is perfect cause it is close to all activities and events, but in the same time relaxed and private. The most incredible place to stay in south Sri Lanka. The houses are set in a beautiful and serene location, away from the busy street and you feel like your in your own private jungle. So much nature, birds and animals around which made our stay even more magically. You can access the main towns by bicycles which they provide, by foot to the beach or easily get a tuk tuk to places. The owners are a great couple who are super friendly, accommodating and welcomed us with amazing food and open arms. The villas are so clean and equipped with everything you need. I feel homesick not being at Ekuku Lake Houses anymore! Thank you both for an amazing stay! 🤗

I spent the final three days of my vacation in Sri Lanka at Ekuku and was welcomed like a friend by Eddie and Alex. My room (,Right‘) was located next to the water, with a nice little terrace, a comfy bed and enough space for my clothes and belongings. The beautiful outdoor bathroom is a special treat and the breakfast just delicious!! I felt like home. Eddie and Alex made sure I had no wishes left, they took me to Coconut Beach for the Market, had great tips for Surfing and Beaches. I loved all the animals there. Two really nice beaches (Coconut and Midigama) are very close. Bus Stop is 10min walk away. I will come back, my time here went by way to fast!! Thank you!!

We could not have asked for a better stay. The place is quiet and serene, the sea is close by and the hosts feel like Family. I have been to Sri Lanka 5 times and ekuku was by far the best stay i have had in the Island.

Wonderful place! We had the best time here. Far away from the main road and all the noise. In the Morning you wake up with the birds and the beach is just 7 minutes by walk away. Surprisingly there is no Moskitos around. I think there is enough fish in the lakes. The owners are super nice and helpful in any situation and have great food 😁 We will definitely come back to this oasis in nature!

Me and my wife had a wonderful time at EKUKU Lake Houses. We stayed for a night, but we felt like we couldn't leave this amazing place. We stayed at the Down condo and it had a beautiful view of the lake where we witnessed the nature after a long absence. Special thanks to Hedwige and Supun, for being super helpful in every possible way. Also to mention, the dogs and the cats have been adorable to keep us company during our stay. We would definitely recommend EKUKU, If you are planning to get away from your regular urban life and experience the Freedom and Nature.

Hey coucou 👋. We stayed at EKUKU for 2 weeks during our 1 month trip in Sri Lanka. We met the owner in the water during a surf session and we decided to go and have a look the place. We never left after that, everything was perfect: this place is quiet in the middle of the nature , really safe and close to the beaches. The rooms are big and set up with all you need: shelf, wardrobe etc .. everything is super clean (towels, bed sheets, coussins..) and the bed is really confortable. The bathroom is practical and really beautiful. All the rooms got a private terrace with lake view where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast cooked by the staff 😉. They are really friendly and always look after you. They are helpfull and can give you some good tips. Thanks Edd Alex and Supun for all. We will be back soon for sure. Good luck for the season. Our first encounter with Sri Lanka and the hospitality from Hedwige and Alex. The place is great, staff is great, rooms look amazing, we had the “right” room, outside shower is so nice to start the day. Close to a nice beach but very quiet. Waking up with the sound of birds. You instantly feel at home. Breakfast was delicious.

Ekuku is a little oasis. The owners are very friendly and always there for you. from our balcony we saw turtles, which was very nice for our daughter! the breakfast is amazing and we lacked nothing. We hope to come back one day! Mike & fam.

I spent my last month at EKUKU, from my three month stay in sri lanka. The plan was one week but I felt so comfortable, supported and just at home in the lakehouse and could not leave. It's so beautiful and quiet, surrounded by a small lake. Having a coffee on the terrace in the morning is a must and watch the animals wake up. I was in the down room which has an incredible amount of space with a beautiful outdoor bathroom. I also worked remotely and was able to concentrate and focus. Eddie and Alex are always willing to help and to have a chit-chat. Definitely eat there too, their food is 🤤 Thank you for a wonderful end to my trip and all that goes with it!

I stayed at Ekuku for almost two months and it was an absolute pleasure! The place is in a great location just next to the rice paddies and only a short walking distance from coconut beach. Waking up each morning to the sounds of nature and enjoying a cup of coffee and delicious breakfast on the balcony was very peaceful and inspiring. There’s a little lake surrounding the property and with monkeys, turtles, peacocks and many other animals just in front of the room it feels like you’re on a little safari. The room itself was beautiful and has everything you need and Hedwige and Alex are great hosts which made the stay even more enjoyable. They also serve super delicious food at their restaurant which is a big plus

Es gibt Fahrrad zum ausleihen, eine Waschmaschine, eine Küche mit allem Zubehör und ganz viel Natur, Tiere und tolle Menschen. Ich habe mich als Alleinreisende nie alleine gefühlt und wurde mit offenen Armen empfangen. Danke euch beiden für diesen traumhaften Aufenthalt. Ich komme bald wieder.
