We stumbled upon this gem on our way to an art gallery in West Hollywood. We walked into a few other restaurants in the area, where the staff was so unwelcoming, The staff at Employees Only was the opposite. We got a seat at the bar immediately, and our bartender was funny, friendly and efficient. They have a bunch of fun drinks as well as incredible food! We felt liked we hit the jackpot!

Taste :4.3/5 Environment: 4.4/5 Service:4.4/5 The manager was very accommodative when we had to reschedule our reservation the following night. On first impression, the bar has a retro design ( like a call back to the 1920s ). The waiters at the dining section were dressed in black while the bartenders wore the signature white uniforms ( like a cross between a chef and bodyguard’s attire). Our culinary adventure started with 2 cocktails ( both were suggested by our waiter ). I had the mezcal based “Ready Fire Aim” and my partner had the rye forward “Golden Smoke”. Of note: these cocktails are very strong. Especially the GS. Cocktails: Golden Smoke: Should be more suited for men. This is a smoked cocktail ( the glass is filled and covered with scented smoke to enhance the aroma ). As a presentation, our waiter poured the cocktail mixture on an EO logo etched large clear ice cube. Ready Fire Aim: a mezcal based cocktail. The smokiness of the mezcal clearly stands out. You can also taste pineapple and honey in the background. The RFA is complimented with a few dashes of crushed pink peppercorns. Onto dinner: Appetiser: Japanese sweet potatoes. They were paired with a coconut paste. The coconut flavour played well with the crisp sweet potatoes. Main: Wood Fired chicken. Surprise of the night. The order consisted of ONLY TWO PIECES. It cost $36 and came around 25 minutes after the JSP. Yes it was tasty, the inner texture was soft and succulent and the skin had the consistency of pecking duck. But again, this meal is clearly lacking in quantity provided. After dinner cocktail: we moved to the bar area and finished with a Hibiscus Rising. It was similar to the RFA but had more of a floral taste. Final impressions. If you’re not a fan of straight hard liquor, you can request the server/bartender to use less of it in the cocktails, because the hard liquor can sometimes overpower the other ingredients. EO is a chill place if you’re on a bar crawl or want to experience unique cocktails with great service. EO has been listed as one of the World's 50 Best Bars and continues to garner accolades for its cocktails, food, and hospitality.

The Sister Bar to EO NYC does not disappoint. Space has a cool vibe and drinks are just as impressive as NYC. One of the best patios in LA.

Fun little neighborhood restaurant/bar in West Hollywood. We came in here for their version of happy hour called golden hour and had a great time. Good food and even better drinks. We will definitely be back!

Came in for drinks and then we ended up staying for dinner. We had the Golden Smoke and EOspresso Martini...probably the best espresso martini I have ever had in my life. We then ordered the Steak Tartare to start and shared the Hazelnut Pesto and the Dry Aged Branzino. Absolutely amazing food and cocktails. Friendly and fun staff. Will definitely be back!

We had such a wonderful meal at Employees Only. They're well known for the cocktails, but we loved the food as well. Japanese Sweet Potatoes, Hazelnut Pesto with Burrata to name a few were all fantastic dishes. Great place for groups (we had 5 people in our party). They have a cool vibe and usually have a DJ to help curate the music. Fun spot if you're around West Hollywood!

WOW! This place was awesome. Cocktails were stellar, and desserts were delish! Best of all, the DJ threw down. We only wished that they had a dance floor.

Came to employees only for their summer social club brunch pop up and it was pretty darn good. They have a lovely spacious patio area set up with plenty of fake grass and picnic style tables. We were seated at a small table for two which was a bit wobbly and soon after didn’t have enough room for the food/drinks we ordered but we made it work! My friend ordered the Balinese jungle for a drink and said it was lovely though the coconut cream gives a sort of curdled look. They were having some issues with their ordering system since you do all your ordering through your phone and after asking a few people I found out they DO in fact serve coffee (I figured since it wasn’t offered on the menu for brunch something must be wrong!) but only cold brew that seems to come pre sweetened. We ordered the churro waffle which did indeed taste like a fluffy on the inside crunchy on the outside churro. Unfortunately I had no idea the cream was supposed to be banana flavored because it just tasted like a normal whipped cream as well as the syrup tasting like any other syrup and lacking the caramel flavors usually led by piloncillo. We also ordered the furikake chilaquiles to share and added both the pork and beef to the dish. The egg was cooked well and the radishes added a fresh crunch but unfortunately everything sort of got lost underneath a slathering of sauce- we really couldn’t tell any differences in meat, Yuzu crema, or hibiscus onions. It all just tasted like the sauce on top which was good but sort of disappointing to lack the combination of flavors. They seem to be sort of coming up with their menu and working through the kinks so I can’t fault them entirely- if anything it seems to be a nice patio to have a few drinks. Hopefully it will only get better from here.

People love this place. All the 5 starred reviews. I should swim with the crowd. Since I only had two drinks at the bar during happy, I enjoyed my drinks and the price. Friendly bartender. Comfortable space. No complaints here.

Came here for drinks. Real New York, speakeasy vibe. My cocktail was delicious. Good for dates + catching up with a friend. Low lighting +music set the lounge mood. I’d love to make a reservation and try the food here some time!

With only a day in LA, our wonderful local friend recommended Employees Only and we were excited to eat and vibe in the grassy outdoor area. There were limited vegan dishes for our friend, but our server was very accommodating and went above and beyond to get her a substitute dish. Unfortunately whilst the service was phenomenal, it was the only saving grace to an otherwise poor eatery experience. The meat pasta dishes we ordered were cold, dry and left an odd after-taste and the starters were very bland. One thing to note is that we visited in September 2021 so the menu might of changed since then. Overall, 1/5 for food, 5/5 for drinks and 10/5 for service!

Very impressive! I have quite a few bars and speakeasies saved in my Google Maps and this was one of them. I showed up on a Wednesday without a reservation. It was just myself and one other person, so I took a chance and asked the host if there was any chance at all that he would allow us to enter the speakeasy since it was my actual birthday. He was very kind and after checking to see if it was possible, he graciously accommodated the two of us despite the fact that we did not have a reservation. We walked through the bar and entered a secret entry way into the Speakeasy section. It was beautiful, classy, and intimate. They had very talented Entertainer who played the piano and sang. In my opinion he sounded similar to John Legend which was amazing. Our table was close to the stage and we enjoyed glasses of wine and the wonderful ambiance. I will definitely be back!

Great spot in West Hollywood! Grabbed a spot at the bar and really enjoyed the vibe of the place. It seemed like a great date spot. Lovely cocktails and the food was delicious! Service was on point as well. Also, they have a happy hour every day from 5-8!

Really enjoyed the quality of the food at EO. The wagyu burger melted like butter in my mouth, the ceasar salad was fresh, and tiramisu had a nice vodka kick. They had a great selection of cocktails, but I do feel like it's a bit loud for a restaurant. But it was good for a birthday celebration, with a custom menu.

À bit of a rough start, we arrived a few minutes later than our friend and they put the reservation on hold and asked her to wait for the whole group... I understand it is a policy, just don't like it. However our wIter was nice and gave us great recommendations. Our Cocktails were great, the food was a bit different than what you see elsewhere and the music dj was good. Some of the seating is a bit uncomfortable but I guess it's a bar first... Foo

Nice place, coming for a drinks and chill a little bit with friends, I like the barbershop truck that is in the back. The ambience lights were great wasn’t that low or that night and with the candles on the table was great.

Came here for drinks with a friend while I was in town on vacation and had such a great time! I accidentally made our reservation for a different day but the woman at the door kindly sat us anyway at a nice table where we could watch the acoustic guitar performance that was happening! Even though there were other people there it felt very intimate! Service was great, food was killer, and the drinks were fantastic! Will definitely be back next time I'm in LA

I had previously been to the one in the West Village in NYC, which was amazing! I've been wanting to come and try the LA location for many years and I'm so glad I finally went last night. We got spicy margaritas (truly fantastic) a side of olives (lovely), the mac and cheese - seriously bomb. And the bolognese - some of the best I've ever had. Great service, ambiance, and fabulous music! Highly recommend for an intimate night out with friends / first date / special occasion night. Had a brilliant time there and can't wait to return.

I was hesitant to going to this place in fear that it might be too snobbery and up-tight, but my experience was rather welcoming and fun in a setting still very fancy and elevated. I felt like I hit the Jack-pot! And the drinks were absolutely amazing. Our server was not only nice but very informative and had impeccable timing when it came to helping us and providing us some privacy. I forgot her name but she was from Serbia. Super great! The whole staff was amazing. I was sad to leave (after having fun for 3 hours) to see the DJ come in so I’ll plan our next visit later in the evening. What a great place, thank you for providing a great experience to celebrate life moments!!

Fantastic bar with an Art Deco style interior and a pretty chill grassy exterior. I recommend this for dates as it has a nice candlelit setting and it’s not too loud that you can have good conversations. Drinks are a bit pricey, but in my opinion are worth it for the vibe. I recommend you set reservations before hand and try to get a table indoors.

Went here last night, and it seems like a nice place. The issue I had was I ordered an IPA for myself and asked for a Shirley Temple as a joke because my friend was driving. The bartender said she didn’t have grenadine, but she could make something that was non-alcoholic. The IPA I received in a can with a glass, I get the bill and it’s $28 for a can of IPA and a non-alcoholic drink… $28… I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Wanted a vodka cran they didn't have cranberry juice... so I asked for Malibu pineapple and I feel like I got Vodka pineapple which wasn't appetizing whatsoever. I saw my friends get some cool drinks though.. Overall the place was spacious if you're going to sit at a table and I had a really great time as the workers were super easy going and we even took a bunch of pictures with all of them. Cheers

This would be five stars, but it is a tad bit pricey. Highly recommend for people who like convenience. They provide you unlimited ping pong balls an you don't even have to pick them all up if they go flying! You can pay for 30 minutes or longer, think it goes in 30 Min increments. 29 dollars for 30 min. Great ambiance and bar!

Consistently above average cocktails but not a place that will knock your socks off.

We came to the restaurant slightly early to park but after waiting a while in the valet line they told us the valet was filled up. I went to go check-in at the restaurant while my partner parked. He had to park very far because there was no parking near the restaurant. The hostesses told me they wouldn’t seat me until my entire party was there. I then saw them seat a party of 4 while only 2 of their members were there. They told me this was different because their party was bigger than mine and hence made them more money. When my partner came at 9:16 (one minute past the wait time,) they had forgotten who I was (despite me checking with them every 2 minutes that my table was being prepared) and told me they had given our table away despite me waiting at the server stand the entire time. It was also extremely rude they had me wait outside when it was extremely cold outside and a normal server would have a woman wait inside by the bar in a sketchy neighborhood at night. The hostesses were some of the rudest women I’ve ever encountered. When I went to the bathroom they tried to ask my partner to move our table outside again (which the seating outside is terrible, it’s like a cafeteria table and totally unromantic). He declined, and they proceeded to put as at an extremely cramped table where we could hear the conversations of both of the couples next to us rather than hear each other. All of this was after we booked the reservation saying it was our anniversary, they clearly didn’t care. The restaurant also has one of the worst bathrooms I’ve ever seen, it’s just a room of gender neutral stalls with creepy drunk men able to enter at any point. We ended up leaving the restaurant and going to a place called Norah down the street where we had the most incredible dinner! I highly recommend all couples go somewhere else as they prioritize bigger groups much more. Whoever the hostesses were last night (September 24th) .... I hope management sees this and talks to them about how rude and stuck up they are.

Very cool ambiance. The cocktails were very interesting and the menu was pretty good. We got a few apps to share. Would definitely like to check out the outdoor area but the inside was nice and cozy.

One of my favorite bars in all of LA. It does a magnificent job of maintaining the vibe from the original NYC location. Bojan the bartender/mixologist is one is the most talented people in the industry and everyone else is just wonderful as well!!! Great times every time.

Not a great night. I visited with a friend and we were really disappointed with the service. The outdoor area was good, the food was all quite good, but the service was painful. 1 cocktail each, impossible to get served another as our waiter was never seen again. We had been given a small glass of water by a different waiter at some point but this wasn't ever refilled. When food arrived we asked that person to refill the water and were told they would be back with water and that didn't happen. Took nearly 15 minutes to get the bill, and then nobody came to take payment. Finally I gave up and went to the bar myself with my card to pay so I could leave. Perhaps we got unlucky, but I wouldn't bother returning to find out. A wasted evening.
