My mom came in on Nov. 1 with pneumonia. They were able to treat her successfully and she is now back home recovering. She said the nurses in the ICU were very good to her. However when she was transferred to a normal room the care was bad. They basically did not check on her all night and she was in a lot of discomfort. I don't know why the nurses in that area totally neglected her. Dr. Coletta was really nice and assured her she would be taken care of better so I appreciate him being very professional. I'm grateful all in all she was able to be treated and discharged in a week which is why I will give 4 stars but the fact the nurses did not perform their jobs properly in the one unit is very disheartening to hear and I hope something is done to improve care and performance there.

The way they treat people and discriminate for whatever personal reason is sick. If someone is coming to a hospital especially with a Child who’s running high fevers and put us in a room with no bed made us stand for 45 minutes before even offering to switch rooms unsanitary. Rude staff. And this hospital represents pediatrics? Wow. Need new staff for sure who actually care about their job which is caring for others.

My mother suffers from a heart condition and needs a certain dosage of medicine when she is in the emergency room. She should not be upset while out of rithum with her heart, but some of the nurses and doctors where arguing with her and upsetting her and making her condition worse. They only gave her half the dose then walked out the room, and didn't even come back till I had to ask for someone and hit the button 3 times. They weren't even that busy. Rude and Disrespectful, that's all I have to say about the service received. @st.johns

Horrendous hospital. Released my mother in law same day she seizured, did not hold her overnight for observation and she suffered another seizure and head injury that same night. Refused to allow her son to visit her and treated him like a threat as opposed to showing empathy and informing him of her condition. Refused the request for transfer and kicked her son out of the hospital because he wanted to know how his mother was doing. They would not allow him to wait for the physician to finish with his meeting in order to get answers to his questions. I am absolutely disgusted with the behavior of this hospital's representatives and will do everything we can to ensure this hospital is avoided at all costs. It is mind blowing that a hospital can still be operational with as many horrible reviews this location recieves. This is a HOSPITAL. How is this behavior and their actions allowed to continue?! Never thought that someone would want to check reviews of a hospital! Hopefully, you read this before deciding to go here. Please be cautious with your decision on whether or not you should allow these people to provide you medical services.

This is the worse hospital I think I have ever experienced. To give some backstory, I went in on July 27th to meet with my surgeon, Sonia Voiculescu to discuss having a surgery done. We decided to go ahead with the surgery and scheduled it for August 16th. Fast forward to August 10th. Had to get approval to get off work for a week. Finally got the ok this week and I’m missing a week of work which is what it is as I do need to have the surgery done. Schedule is posted and adjusted for it. However, I get a phone call from the hospital stating there is an issue with my insurance and they haven’t responded back. I thought that was kind of weird as it was put in on July 27th. Called up my insurance, and come to find out the hospital never even contacted my insurance as it is. They literally just put in for the approval when they told me they haven’t heard back my insurance. It took them TWO weeks to let my insurance know. This was not an insurance issue even though University Hospitals tried to blame them. It should not take 14 days to put this in to my insurance. On Friday, August 11th UH told me they’d let me know asap what was going on. Then they told me the same thing on August 14th. Except on the 14th the lady I spoke to from UH named Jamie said I’d get a call first thing in the morning Tuesday, the 15th. Come 1pm I call and get told to leave a message and I’d get a call back. Now it’s just about 2pm and I still don’t know what’s going on for a surgery that is scheduled for tomorrow. Not to mention I’m off work this entire week for a surgery that was scheduled almost three weeks ago. Now I am out a full week of pay, probably no surgery at this rate, and they have offered no solution after they are the ones to mess up. Stay far away from this place. Unless maybe you schedule a surgery six months out. Hopefully they can inform your insurance in that long of a time frame. I would like to add that I do not blame Sonia by any means as she was extremely friendly and helpful when I first went in for my appointment. Jamie also seemed to be trying her best to get this fixed. This is an issue with UH and their lack of submitting these claims in a very poor fashion. Sorry it just doesn’t take fourteen days to submit paperwork to an insurance company. Very incompetent employees. **Edit: I just contacted my insurance again, and they aren’t even aware of this surgery tomorrow. This is the 4th time I’ve contacted my insurance in the past few days. Apparently there was no submission of it ever until today. They submitted my surgery claim with less than 24 hours before the procedure. The entire UH staff I have spoken to thus far has lied about everything. I have called around 20 different numbers for UH with no help.

If I was rating only the medical professionals at UH, I would give them 10 stars. I have never had anything other than excellent care from the doctors, nurses, therapists and other medical professionals. However, the phone system is TERRIBLE! Whenever I have to call, I am on hold for an unreasonable amount of time, often over a half hour. I would actually knock the rating down a couple of stars because of how bad the phone system is except for the fact that the care is so good. I was referred for therapy and was told they would call to schedule me but instead they sent me a text telling me to call them. And I did. And I sat on hold until I couldn’t any more. I still haven’t scheduled my therapy.

0 stars if I could. Basically killed my father. Tried to contact ER early in the morning but they hung the phone on me twice. Then I was told my father was not in ER. 10 hours later I was told he was in ICU and that he passed away. The hospital did not call our emergency number they called my fathers number to tell him he was dying next to his ringing phone… even left my father 3 voicemail telling him he was going to die…not the family.

Worst hospital ever, my sister and her son are admitted and I went because she's on a insulin pump and has not eaten all day. So me and my 2 young children came to see if they need food or anything. The lady at the desk was very sweet and gave us directions. As soon as we got to the room, mind you we were only there for a few minutes, the supervisor comes and kicks us out saying there can only be 2. I tried to ask if he could give us a few , he was very rude and said no. So I was forced to leave my children unattended while I went in to speak with my sister and she was very ill and stressed due to diabetes and the situation. I just feel like they could have done better than that. God would not have been pleased with the way we were treated. We love the Lord and everyone and we were not shown any love back. I would not recommend this place to anyone if they were looking for any compassion 😕

Would have given 5 stars but very upset that we were disrespected by a condescending nurse who smelled like she still had a lit cigarette in her hand, I’ll make sure to chose another hospital next time. Pediatric DOCTOR was a wonderful 10/10 however, the nurse was extremely unfriendly to my sick 2 year old. Shame on her.

The worst experience I've ever had. I'm okay with waiting but they didn't even get me into a room. They did a strep, virus and Covid test when I got called into registration and then back out to the waiting area. They didn't look at where I was hurting. They called in people that came in after me. I asked for a cup of water because I was vomiting and they would tell me okay and never come back. They came out after hours and just prescribed me meds. I told them there was other things bothering me and they told me a different doctor will be out. Never did a doctor come out. They just brought me my discharge papers and antibiotics. I left in more pain than I felt when I came in. I would never ever go back to stjohn.

Outstanding emergency room care my son received. We had left the Avon Cleveland Clinic- which is the closest facility to our home- because of a ridiculous wait time and zero assistance. Upon arrival at St Johns at 3 am he was immediately admitted and within 5 minutes already had an IV with pain and nausea medication. The staff was absolutely caring and amazing even though they were extremely busy. From Cheryl who checked us in to Brandy the supervising nurse, our nurse Porchia, and Dr. Davis. Thank you.

Clean quite hospital and easy to locate offices. I went to pre operation exam. It was easy and nurses and employees are really nice and cordial. Just had surgery here not so happy with what happened. Was placed in a room they cleaned 1 day by Connie they never changed my sheets food was brought to me cold with bad taste. Not very good food gave gingerale in small glass cups why not a can so people feel secure. The facility needs a new cook. Just upset from a bad stay at hospital. Their great for tests clean main lobby I was happy with my choice. Now I don't feel the same after my surgery and stayed. That's why I changed to HATE IT!!!!!.

I was there for a week in March for sepsis and cdiff. The nurses and doctors were wonderful. Paid attention to your needs. Kept me informed to my conditions. Stayed with me for awhile while I got a blood transfusion to make sure everything was OK. Cant say enough about them.

In ER 6 hours waiting in exam room. Tests run, I monitored results on My Health AP. We all get busy but 45 minutes for assistance, 3 times requesting help. I just found out I’m spending the night. No food since 9 AM today and apparently nothing to drink either and that was at 4 PM before coming in I’m a Siedman patient. Not up to their standards. Very disappointed in this visit. Love my UH Team. This place needs some work

Sitting almost 4 hours in ER with possible appendicitis. Short of breath. Dizziness Horrific pain and I was just told they take patients by priority? They are unsure when I will be seen. No beds available. I guess my appendix has to burst to be moved up?

Went to the ER for my 10 year old staff is rude, nurse did not wash her hands seemed offended when I asked her to wash her hands—they clearly lack HIPAA training as they leave their computer unattended and speak freely in the common areas about patients plan of care, didn’t bother to give us a call light or offer anything to comfort the patient! —— what a mess I guess you can’t expect decent care at a place with this type of staff! They need more training for sure!

I came in to have surgery on my hand. I didn’t know what was going to happen. I was nervous and a bit scared. When I went into the room, to undress etc., the Nurse (?) was wonderful. Her calmness, and voice reflected nothing but a quiet, softened person. I relaxed immediately. We talked. She proceeded with putting IV needle and tubing into both hands, quietly, gently, all the time talking to me. The PreOp people, were totally organized also, going thru all the questions and tests! I am in love. In my 70 years of hospitals…I didn’t worry. From the beginning of the process to the end, I was calm. I have found MY Hospital! At least in the for Outpatient Surgery Care, I can give them an A+!

This is a decent enough hospital with friendly competent staff but word of warning: their Computer access medical records system is totally broken. They are not on Epic and don’t use MyChart which is fine of course, but the system you build to replace it has to work! A few months down the road from my last event there, I still have never been able to access my records electronically. I had to call the nursing station, and have them print it out, sign the release and get paper copies. Surprisingly, every text and electronic access relayed to my unpaid bill works PERFECTLY! Isn’t that bizarre? /s My ailing elderly mother is there right now and while the staff is great and treating her well, her medical records and MEDICATIONS are totally wrong, 2 years old, within their system despite her having been admitted around a month ago and all of this already communicated. Their system is shockingly broken to a point of ethical and legal ramifications in my view. It’s surreal and my heart goes out to anyone who has to work within this organization and deal with such bulls*it on a daily basis.

I came in by squad after a seziure and once I got there the care wasn't bad but my labs came back and I had a very bad uti which required rocephin (not sure if spelled right) which is an antibiotic that is given through iv and a bag of fluids, keep in mind my utis are a huge trigger for my seziures, i was assuming since the uti was so severe that I needed antibiotics through iv that I would be admitted nope I finished antibiotics through iv and they sent me home without even finishing the fluids also I had to use a bedpan after my seziure and getting help to be taken off and on it took forever

The security staff are the only reason for this rating they bend over backwards to help me out. I have severe anemia from my meds and had my long sleeve shirt confiscated from me and I was given 2 paper thin hospital patient gowns and blankets to keep warm and I had chills running up and down my spine simultaneously and full blown panic attacks after being told that it was for security reasons that I was not allowed to wear my shirt which is a hoodie that no strings in it all and the fact fact of the matter I was not homicidal and/or suicidal , I was also in a room that induced full blown panic attacks!!! YOU DON’T KNOW THAT THOSE HOSPITAL PATIENT GOWNS AND BLANKETS CAN NOT BE FORMED INTO A NOOSE THINK AGAIN!!! THAT WILL BE THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER BE SEEKING PSYCH SERVICES FROM ST. JOHN MEDICAL CENTER AND/OR FAIRVIEW HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOMS AGAIN!!!

As a former employee I can honestly say the doctors are all fantastic and no one else I'd want to see!! However when as an employee and you have some serious issues with coworkers and you bring that up to your supervisors, they will play the high school drama games and pick who their favorite is. Mind you 5 years ago and hope things are different yet I know some of the same problem causing employees are still there and have even been promoted. And the ED when it gets super busy you all better hope the A team is on cause that ER is still a mess and speaking of mess you better hope you are never in room B in the ed cause a nurse and medic used to have "personal time" in that room.

I was in St John’s hospital for 2 different Orthopedic surgeries. I must say it is the BEST HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. I have had many orthopedic issues for over 25 years. The staff at this hospital are Amazing! From the , anesthesiologist, and the best orthopedic doctor I’ve ever had. All of the workers in the surgery department, and nursing staff just I cannot say enough about this Hospital’s Staff!! My orthopedic doctor, Bret McCoy and his surgical staff were fantastic. He is probably he and His Assistant Tanner Speakman are the best I’ve ever had, I’ve had a number of orthopedic surgeons for the last 20 years or more. My my nurse in recovery was absolutely fantastic. Her name is Paula Weiss rn. I wish I new them all by name but I don’t. I strongly believe in complimenting doctors and hospitals, when they really do a good job in this hospital and doctors are excellent the whole staff is. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE CARE YOU GAVE TO ME! My stay at the MacDonald Women's Hospital (the maternity unit) was a wonderful experience. Each staff member was compassionate and professional in their care for me and my baby. The nurses were an amazing team and always made me feel comfortable and confident. They gave us all the resources and education we needed to bring our baby home. I can't say enough good things about the maternity unit- definitely recommend!

I had trigger finger surgery the morning of Valentines Day. The entire staff that took care of me were all amazing. A special shout out to the 2 male surgical nurses that assisted Dr Elyaderani and Dr Ely himself for making me feel comfortable during the surgery.

I have used this emergency room 3 times out of the past year. Two out of the 3 visits were a great experience! Wait time in the emergency room was less then an hour and they usually start lab tests right away. The last visit was for my fiance who ended up having Apendicitis. His doctor/surgeon, Dr. Michael Liu, was amazing! He was very down to earth and easy to talk to, which is unusual for most doctors. He also was very thorough and explained everything very well. The whole process from the time we got to the ER til the time he was discharged, was less than 24 hours. The only complaint I have is that they waited to do the surgery until the next afternoon. We were told my fiance was stable and they would have him on IV antibiotics overnight. I wasn't completely comfortable with this due to the fact that his appendix could burst or tear at any time. We came to the ER before the pain got unbearable to prevent this. It turned out his appendix was very large & "angry" but thankfully everything went good and it didn't have a chance to burst before the surgery.

Unfortunately made two ER trips this weekend for two different reasons and the staff at UH St. John was excellent. I was seen quickly, never felt like I was a burden, and was taken seriously. Nurse Holly was compassionate and patient in explaining procedures and results. Dr. Iqbal diagnosed me based on my health history and not just test results. There was another doctor with tattoos and purple hair, I forgot her name, she was empathetic and understanding of my frustrations and fears. In a very scary moment, I felt like a priority. Definitely glad I chose St. John.

Yesterday was my first experience at St. Johns, and couldn't be happier with the staff. Beginning with Dr. Hoehn, and the entire hospital staff that I encountered. From the admitting nurses, Ron and Cathy, to all others I encountered, all were pleasant and caring while being professional. If the need arises, I don't think you could receive better care anywhere than what you would get at St. Johns.

I do not brag on hospitals or there staff at all with goodreason. However, I'm admitted to st John westshore in Westlake. And I'm on the 3rd floor. When I tell you they are watching me round the clock. They are being extra attentive and I appreciate it all. But I really wanted to post because. My over night nurse that just left she has been a nurse about 6 yrs named Laura she is by far hands down amazing. I've never had a nurse to treatment with so much care and respect she even came in to say by give me a hug and cry with me. My first nurse Katelyn Is awesome to and thankfully she just got back this morning... here are good people in this world!

This has to be the worst hospital on the planet and I blame them as a big part of my dads death. I understand the staff shortages right now, but my dad was directly across from the nurses station on the 3rd floor of the emergency room and they barely if at all came to check in on him. My mom and I were there daily and thank god we were because he would have stuff pouring out of his mouth, not cleaned up, they wouldn't give him his pills & were just saying "he doesn't want to take them", and they were 100% ready to discharge my dad for rehab when he hadn't woken up barely for about a week straight. How are you going to send a patient to rehab when they can't even open their eyes or are conscious? I will never in my life bring another family member here ever again. The experience is still traumatizing to me when I have flashbacks. I miss my dad so much and this was not the place we should have taken him to. I fully regret it.

You would think that you are at Happy Hour at a bar giving away free drinks. The staff in the ER overnight are only there to have one big party. They are so busy partying that they can’t even talk the trash from the bag of potato chips and crackers and two small cans of soda. Oh yes don’t ask them to empty the urinal that’s full and sitting right at the doorway without getting attitude that’s it’s beneath them. This place is absolutely pitiful!
