Definitely the worst service I’ve ever experienced at restaurant downtown. The two hosts were rude and dismissive, then the guy who sat us wouldn’t let us sit at an open booth, even though it wasn’t busy at all. Instead he sat us next to a large party where it was understandably noisy. After sitting there for about 15 minutes, and not getting waited on, we asked to be waited on. The girl who came and took our order was incredibly rude. First, my husband asked for a recommendation on the salad dressing and her response was that she doesn’t eat that stuff. Then, I asked for my starter salad to be delivered before my meal so my food wouldn’t get cold. Her response was, only if they give it to me this time… what in the actual heck?! We sat there for about 10 minutes, long enough to realize she was serious. Then, we made an excuse and bounced without eating. We ended up going to PourHouse, which offered amazing service and delicious food. I do NOT recommend The Anchor. It was an awful experience. My husband and I have never walked out of a restaurant like that, but they were so horrible in how they treated us. The thing is, downtown Wichita is a competitive market and there are tons of great places to eat where you will be treated with dignity and respect. This place is sadly not one of them.

Stopped in for a late lunch, thankfully didn't wait long for a table. Had fried pickles as an appetizer, which had a good pickle to breading ratio. Three entrees: cheesesteak (spicy variation), poutine, and club sandwich. We all agreed that we'd prefer the fries to be cooked longer, but overall our food was tasty.

Nice selection on the menu. Lots at each price point and hunger level. Good music selection playing. Waitress was great. Place was clean. We spent 10-20 dollars average per person but most of the meals were under 10.

First of I would like say, whenever I passed by this place never gave it much thought because I thought it was a Tattoo place lol Well with the big red Anchor and a tattoo place close by I'm sure I'm not the only one just figured it was all connected. With that said went and talked to a wonderful waitress about what hamburger is good on the menu and let me tell you she was dead on. The hamburgers we both ordered were so delicious and the Jalapeno and cream cheese on top of mine was to die for 😋 My only complaint about this place is wish I would of discovered it sooner. See ya there😁

Easy to find and came to me highly recommended, with good reason! Unique menu options as well as drinks. Staff were courteous and welcoming, despite my Dad and I being way overdressed (on our way home from a memorial service). Admittedly, I geeked out taking photos of the place because I was planning to leave a solid review for them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Yummy Thai Chicken Sandwich and fries. Waitress was great: patient, friendly, attentive. Came back several times to check on us to see how the food was, refill drinks, and asked if we needed to-go boxes. The two of us celebrating birthdays received a delicious ice cream sandwich. Is that homemade ice cream??? Reasonably priced. Spacious. Clean. Watch your step coming out of the "back" dining area. A slightly uneven floor. A bit awkward getting out of the restaurant of the is a line of customers coming in: one door. Then a dog-leg turn to get from the exit through the patio to the sidewalk. Not a major problem, just awkward. I'd go back a second time, for sure.

Establishment was clean and had a great atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are extensive food and drink menus with a good variety. I went with the suggested “Haystack” open faced burger. Burger was cooked to order under a pile of fries and queso. If I would say it has a very singular flavor of queso but the burger patty and meat went well it it. Next time I’ll try something different and maybe a drink as well.

I haven't been to this place in awhile and now I know why. There's always issues every time I go to this place whether it's with work or personally. Last time I went here, my coworker got a burger practically raw, she didn't reorder because it would have taken a long time. She watched us eat instead. Then I had server argue with me about getting my drink wrong. I decided to give it another chance. We decided to go there for lunch. We got seated right away. The waitress was very thorough on our drink order but we never got it. She was waiting on a table of 6. She got slammed trying to take care of them that she fell short with us. Took our drink order, waited a long time to find out they didn't have the brand we wanted. We then compromised and chose bar brand instead. It seemed this waitress was not getting any team support at all. She had one person helping her run food to the the table of 6, then she had to get shots for them. I couldn't understand why she couldn't pick up our drinks then. There were 2 bartenders standing around when they could have helped. Had a tattooed guy clearing a table behind, he saw us sitting with our menus, no drinks, he never once asked us how we're doing, can I take your order, nothing. We never got our drinks, we waited at least 30 minutes, no one approach us. They say support your local businesses, not when I get ignored and treated like I'm inconvenience. Do better.

Beer and wine options are fun and different. Great selection. We had the fried jalapeños and fresh chips. Both were delicious. All our "medium, medium rare" burgers were well. I'll try again, but not my favorite so far.

Loved lunch and beer. Had the best Rubin sandwich and Mediterranean salad ever. Service was top notch and so was the drink menu.

Came in on Saturday afternoon because I saw on Reddit that this place served Poutine and I'd never had that before. Time to try something new. The wait wasn't long. Hostess told me 20 to 25 minutes. I think I was seated in about 10 - 15 minutes. Service was quite good. Waiter checked with me every time he walked by my table to make sure everything was okay. Must say the food was quite good. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Fries were really good. I suspect, hand-cut "home-made" (i.e. not frozen) fries, but not 100% certain on that. The gravy was very good. All in all, a really fantastic meal. Price was about what you'd expect for this quality in this type of establishment. Not expensive; not cheap. Will definitely be back.

In glad the food was delicious because it was super slow service with only a few other people in there. Waitress was horrid and needs to not be a waitress. Not a single check in and other waitresses brought us everything. They did more than her and so they got tipped for it. Will be back and hopefully get a different waitress or we will absolutely walk!

Pretty good place, great food and fast service. Definitely try any of the burgers, all are good but the best is the jalapeño one and don’t forget to try the craft beers.

Good food, but very poor service. I was with two other individuals. Their food came quickly. My fish and chips didn't come till 45 minutes after my friends food arrived. Fish and chips does not take long to cook. My friends were done eating by the time I got my food. I asked 3 times and was told each time it would be out shortly or that the fish was in the fryer now. It still didn't come. I had to ask a fourth time. I was given 40% off but this seemed very minimal for the level of inconvenience. I never got a real answer as to why it was so late. The manager never came by to check on me, apologize or give answers. I would be hesitant to recommend due to service and minimal effort to correct the mistake.
