Prairie Sunset Wichita Trail on Hoover Road just South of Hwy 54, Kellogg, is the start of the trail in Wichita. As of 4-27-2019 there 15 miles of rail banked trail between S. Hoover Road, through Goddard Linear park, and to 295th in Garden Plain. Open year-round, the Prairie Sunset Trail is home to many native Kansas plants and animals. In addition to exploring the trail by foot or bicycle, the wooded areas, streams and farmland along the trail offer ample opportunity for bird watching. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed. Motorized vehicle, except for handicapped vehicles.

Nice trail. Hard pack small gravel. Good for any bike type. Wooded on the sides. Nice park, restrooms in Goddard along the trail. Protected from the wind most of the way. Nice fall scenery. Parking near 119th and in Goddard plus several other locations. Water in Goddard.

Great trail. Very well done with smooth gravel and clear signs when coming to major roads. The benches for taking a break or stretching are a nice touch. Not what u was expecting for a trail leading out of town

Love this for bike riding! Over the years the trees have grown providing more shade. We usually start at air capital park or Goddard and go to Garden Plain.

Great place to clear your mind, enjoy nature, and get some exercise. An easy flat trail to walk with the family and places to rest on the way.

I've ridden the trail from the playground/park in Godard in both directions several times when I'm visiting family in Wichita. Last week was memorable, NOT! Three of us were riding single file & two women overtaking us grom behind clipped me & knocked over my 7 year old grandson. We both crashed resulting in lots of cuts, scraps, and big bruises. Thought I broke my hip! Honestly the trail is pretty boring. Come to western PA & ride the GAP trail... the scenery is much better & the people are certainly more courteous!

Great place for a relaxing ride! Not the most exciting but it is well maintained. Perfect for kids and anyone looking for a smooth ride. I recommend parking at the Goddard Splash Park, as there aren't many parking options directly on the trail like it.

Pictures look beautiful and really wanted to walk the path but no place to park for those of us that don’t live around the corner. We walked a short portion that took us behind industrial buildings and saw nothing like the pictures show.

Maps literally is directing me to drive through someone's house. It does not direct you to the trail head.

Okay trail. I don’t like the industrial part of it. I would definitely start as far west as you can.

West part of the trail between mile markers 6.5 and 7.5 (on both sides of Tyler) has some industrial buildings that keep releasing some smelly VOCs. Smells like acetone or similar. It's probably not good for passers-by and may even cause cancer. Looks like these plants take advantage that nobody complaints and they keep polluting.

This bike path is an easy ride, convenient, and peaceful.
