    The manager is irresponsible. I have never left a review but I hope no one ever has to deal with Julian Macy. I signed up for a membership, didn’t sign a paper just gave him my debit card info, he said that’s all he needed. Said I would be charged $24 a month with my healthcare discount. Got charged $33 a month, called every month to get it fixed, said he would fix it. He never did… so I called in May to get it cancelled and he said he would get it done right then and there. I go in yesterday cause he said I could get refunded for the overcharges, not only did he not cancel my membership, he signed me up for a year membership after telling me I could quit anytime with no charge.. it’s $100 to back out of a year membership. Obviously this is not Julian Macys first time doing this, there’s been a lot said staff. Nice gym but needs a better manager that is actually responsible and cares what the guest say. But the girl that helped me out, wish I caught her name, was very pleasant and patient.

    Came as a guest of a member from a different Genesis but I was told I needed to pay $20 or provide phone numbers as sale leads. He said “we want to offer them a free pass to come” lol but won’t even let me in with a member. Classic genesis hustling, all about money and not service… get the balance right. Merry Christmas

    Transition between gyms is a mess. They randomly just changed their hours of operations without sending out an email. No email or anything. Then, they try to bribe you to stay with them once you cancel your membership. The worst customer service I have seen to date.Vasa at least sent out a change in their app when they were here. I really wish Vasa was still here. Edit: they closed early again on Labor Day without notifying us. Guy at the counter pointed at the door and said they notified us. Well yes, I have to show up to see your sign on the door. This place has horrible management.

    Absolutely incredible how this facility was amazing under the ownership of Vasa but is a complete disappointment under genesis. 1. As pictured, the row machine in the theater is completely covered in dust and obviously has not been cleaned in weeks. Much of the other equipment and especially the bathrooms are clearly ignored by the staff most days. The entire gym was consistently clean before genesis took over. 2. People who have been going here for some time will remember the wet wipe shortage that made it so not even the gym goers could clean the gym. Their solution was to remove over half of the wet wipe dispensers so now you often have to cross the gym in order to clean equipment after using it. But at least there are wet wipes to be found even if you have to take a nice lap around the gym to find them. Thanks for the extra steps. 3. After the switch from Vasa to Genesis, I was promised no additional fees. I was immediately charged an annual fee by genesis after the switch and when I brought it up to the manager on site I was told nothing could be done. Overall it is a wonder how a gym that already had an amazing layout and above average equipment could be turned into such an unpleasant place to work out. It would take minimal effort to fix the major problems that have been created but it is obvious that genesis lacks the care that Vasa had.

    When joining Genesis in a different city I was told I had 20 guest passes to use. I also became an employee of that Genesis not to long ago. When visiting this Genesis on vacation I brought my brother with me expecting to use a guest pass and explained the above^^ They wouldn’t let him in, instead hustling us for names and numbers of people they could call to try and collect as members. My brother told me to go ahead and workout & that he’d wait in the lobby. 30 min later he found a guest pass online and showed it to the people up front. They laughed at him and smirking said “we didn’t know there were guest passes online” (obviously knowing that) If Genesis is going to market itself as having access to other Genesis gyms then I expect the same politeness and courtesy I get walking into my home gym. If this Genesis can’t accept guest passes from a different genesis, that’s fine, but don’t be disrespectful.

    I don't typically write reviews about negativity, but this is necessary if it matters to the business. The gym itself and it's equipment are fantastic. Zero complaints there. Where some light needs to shine is the customer service. The most I ever get from someone on a rare occasion is a "sup" when I come in and scan my key tag. No smiles and no "welcome back." When I leave, I always look over to give 1 of the few associates behind the counter a wave goodbye and it's as if they purposely avoid eye contact and pretend not to notice. This is nothing I lose sleep over, but it goes a long way for a business. And I know I preach to the choir, but Vasa did great with friendly customer service when they were owners of this location. Again, great equipment and I always enjoy my workout here. If you made it all the way to the end, I appreciate the time.

    Had a very odd incident happen today at the Genesis on Harry where I’m a member. Got what felt like an interrogation and accusation on presenting a 7 day trial pass for a friend that wanted to check the gym out with me. Got asked who did I get it from, when, did I just grab it off someone’s desk basically asking me if I stole it and also some comment about me possibly finding it on the floor. Was told that today he could go in but next time the managers might have a problem with it which I was sure there was one or two managers standing there listening to this interaction and why would the managers have a problem someone using a trial they offer is still unclear. I’ve heard a lot of negatives about this company overall but never anyone getting crazy pushback from trying to use a trial pass provided by one of their people. Was slightly embarrassing and even the one I was with was trying to figure out what just happened. Doubt he’ll be joining after today.

    I was happy with my last experience here. I was going to change gyms but was convinced to stay. The gym is really nice! I believe i have found a great gym because i believe they are serious about helping me reach my goal. PLUS Julian is the best, very helpful and kind!

    These people are horrible. Shady business practices, shady managers. Will not stop calling and texting me. I inquired about their prices online and specifically requested not to receive communication, and they haven't left me alone ever since. This gym is closer to my work but I will drive extra just to not go to a gym that has predatory business practices! Oh, and their discounted rate that they'll try to sucker you into is still three times as much as other gyms in town. No way in hell I would ever go to this gym or recommend it.

    I am from out of town and was lucky enough to find this gym for my visit. I have been through 3 gyms in Fort Worth where I am from and this one puts those to the bottom of the list. This gym offers so much more for a middle range price. It sets the bar high for what I have experienced from a gym. If I end up moving here this is the first thing I will join here .

    Wow, pretty cool new place to use as a Genesis member. Love the natural light, open floor plan, and all of the strength equipment. Gotta love the turf and swimming pool, too! Not to mention hot tub, sauna, steam room, and massage beds. Will be relaxing here a lot.

    I love this gym! Everybody here is so kind and helpful. Julian Macy the manager is so cool and makes you feel like you can achieve all your goals. All it takes is one step to get closer to your goals and this gym is the place to do it!

    Just tried to join this gym. $68 a month for one person and it's not even a 24/7 gym. Reading these comments has confirmed I will not be supporting. This area is lower income, so when VASA came and was cheap, it was booming with great service, great machines, positive vibes from staff and heavy flow of customers with no issues. Now its insanely overpriced, no one in the area can afford it. No wonder it's always dead. We can't have anything good on the Southside it seems. This place has gone downhill.

    I love to workout at Genesis and being a member there almost 10 years now. It’s always nice and clean, friendly staffs. It is the best place for me stay in shape and healthy. I also like to play tennis there, so much fun! Thank you

    I get up early to come to the gym at 4am. Twice, I've sat in the parking lot with no staff anywhere to be found, and the doors still locked. Multiple cars in the parking lot at this time because I'm assuming those people, like myself work at an earlier time and like to workout BEFORE work. If this keeps happening, I'll be canceling my membership and going elsewhere. I come here because it's convenient and I'm locked into my Vasa price. This isn't good business, period!!!!!

    lowered to 2 stars, because most of the bench racks and squat racks are missing collars (how are you supposed to lift safely if the weights can slide off). Also, a couple of the weight stacks are missing their pins. Also all the other genesis gyms have Rogue ohio bars for their weightlifting platforms, but this one only has stiff powerlifting bars. Kind of ridiculous to have proper kg bumper plates and no oly bar to go with it.

    Julian Macy and all the staff have been absolutely amazing! I just started back in the gym a few months ago and I had previously only been to the YMCA, and I’m so glad I switched to Genesis! No, I’m not paid or compensated in any way, I just never thought I’d enjoy a gym this much! Every one of the staff has been incredibly helpful and I’ve never once felt like I was being judged or that anyone was staring. Everything is always super clean, and I’ve used two training sessions with Natira so far and she was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and great to work with-I felt comfortable trusting her advice. Julian goes above and beyond and it feels great to be acknowledged when you’re working hard-sometimes it’s easy to lose motivation when you start back in the gym, and just having someone recognize that means the world, and I really appreciate that about the staff there. I’ve started bringing friends with me, and just taking a tour was a step in the right direction to get my health back on track. If you’re hesitant, don’t be-there’s something for everyone there no matter what your fitness level is :) Thank you to all the great employees at Genesis, y’all give me the motivation to want to come in and make positive changes. ❤️

    This location has the most motivational and supportive staff Ive ever met. The equipment at this gym is always clean and has never given me any problems, you can tell that the staff here enjoy their job.

    Been with Genesis for over a year and I love all the facility's. Just want towels at new locations. New locations are always dirty, harry always out of water and soap in the bathroom and showers. Seem to always be out of water ( waiting on order) just go grab a couple cases for 20 bucks and pit it in rhe case easy fix.

    The only pro of this location is that is used to be a VASA and has nice equipment. Other than that this location is very disappointing. We have had multiple instances of calling to verify and being told by staff that child care was currently open only to show up and be told they are not open. When signing up we were told we could take our kids into the gym if KidCare wasn’t open. Only to be told today by management that we aren’t allowed to do that. We were lied to about available childcare so we would sign up. Clearly very poor communication between staff and managers. Wish this location would have stayed a VASA

    Great atmosphere, great equipment, customer service could be better. Was told that I get 4 free pt sessions, tried to schedule one and he blew it off. The only other thing is I really wish they could be a 24 hr gym, I work at 4am and I prefer to get my workout in before work, but I make do.

    Most of time a great place.... except this morning Oct 14 went there at 5 a.m. to get an early workout in and the doors were locked waited in the parking lot for about 45 mins no one showed up....was very disappointed
