I wouldn’t even rate this a 1 star. Our family needed some more towels and I went out to go get some and asked one of the maids if I could have a few of the bigger sized towels, I got permission from the maid and so I went on to grab some. I mistakenly grabbed a bunch of small wash clothes instead of the big towels and the manager there went up to me and accused me of stealing towels! I explained to him I got permission from one of the maids and just accidentally grabbed the wrong type of towel. The maid and other people that were in the hallway confirmed it. He wouldn’t listen and was being very rude and told us we had to leave in 10 minutes. The management there is something I never want to deal with again. I’ll tell you what, I’m never staying here again when we come back and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel even for the price of it!

If you want a healthy dose of small-town racism and prejudice, by all means, stay here. I booked two nights for two adults at this hotel through Priceline and checked-in alone, without issue. I — a white male — was in town to keep my partner — a younger black female — company while she worked a remote, short-term gig there, and I’d work remotely during the business day. After work, we’d grab dinner and drinks out and then hang out at the hotel, getting to sleep relatively early since she started work early each morning. We were quiet, kept to ourselves and caused zero issues. We decided I should stay an extra night, so I extended our stay through Priceline. That morning, I went to the front desk to see if we could stay in the same room and was told our room was taken and we would have to change rooms. But then, the man at the front desk said he had a question for me and asked, “Who is that young woman staying with you?” I was taken aback but answered, “That’s my girlfriend. She’s in town working this week and I’m visiting her.” He said, “Well, girlfriend or not, we think something fishy is going on and are choosing to refuse you service. I’m canceling your reservation and you can take up the refund with Priceline.” At this point, I’m shocked. I said, “Okay, then,” and went to the room and quickly packed our things up and took them to the car before returning to the front desk with the key card. While there I said to the same man, “I’d like to understand exactly what you’re referring to when you say ‘something fishy’ is going on?“ He completely sidestepped the question, tried to blame the decision on a night auditor, then told me the whole family decided to refuse us business and as a family business, they could refuse anyone they wanted. I left. A little later, I called Priceline for a refund, and while on the phone they said they had to call the hotel and verify what had happened. They owned up to nothing and claimed instead that I had canceled the reservation. I don’t usually post reviews, but what happened here cannot go unmentioned. Avoid giving any business to this family and do yourself a favor and book a nicer hotel.

Please do NOT stay at this place. The people are the rudest people ever imaginable. My daughter and 2 sons were going to stay there today and tomorrow in the middle of this winter storm just to make sure they made it to work. 2 sons work at a nursing home. They would not let my daughter check in because she lives in the same county as the hotel. What kind of rule is that? Then manager could have kindly explained the rule but instead the manager started yelling at her that it was her personal choice to drive in bad weather when she asked about risking her life. I can't believe they are still in business, read some of these reviews. This guy is incredibly rude. This is not a good look for the City of Willmar!

If i could give one star i would. I work for the state of MN & went into this hotel yesterday August 3rd to check in after a 12 hour work day. I was greeted very rudely first off by the lady at the desk, she then told me i couldn’t check in because the credit card im paying with is my dads; not mine. My dad has the same last name as me, and it’s a company card it just doesn’t say my company on it, its my dads name. I then asked calmly if i could have him call to verify that he is letting me use his card and that he is checking in tomorrow. they refused & i said ok i will stay somewhere else then because i’ve never had to deal with this before. the manager then got VERY upset with me & told me to cancel it and never come back and started to slam things down on the counter. I was being very calm the whole time, as he started to yell at me saying i’m in double violation with using my card. I told him i didn’t need a lecture and he threaten to call the cops on me. He is so rude, and the lady as well. They were yelling at me all because the card said my dads name but it’s clearly a company card its even a business credit card!!!!!! I went over to another hotel and we all laughed about it. This place has awful reviews and it’s no wonder why. i Highly recommend going somewhere else; i also filed a report with the BBB because of the way he was treating me. Very very poor service.

If you live in Kandiyohi County you're not allowed to stay here. We had a house fire and booked through priceline, never stated anything about the policy on pricelines website (not blaming priceline at all) just a heads up for anyone who wants to stay here. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Worst experience I have ever had dealing with a business. I reserved a room for a manger that works for me who was coming in to town to help out. He said the desk person checking him in was friendly enough but then the "supervisor" walked up and started to grill him about the no smoking policy in the rooms. The guy repeated it several times and emphasized no marijuana as well. My Manager confirmed he got the message and understood, and the guy threatened to kick him out if he smoked in the room. My manager is a smoker and smelled of cigarette smoke but no marijuana. He got a call early afternoon from the hotel asking him to return to the hotel, at which point they kicked him out stating that the hallway around his room smelled of marijuana, and that his room smelled of it as well. He tried talking with the supervisor to defend himself, saying that he had not smoked anything in the room, and does not smoke marijuana, but the supervisor said he would call the police if he did not leave. I called the hotel as soon my manager got back and informed me of the situation. The supervisor started to go on a rant and I tried saying one thing, at which point he said "If you're going to interrupt me this conversation is over!" Then hung up on me. I called back to ask for his supervisors number, he refused. I asked for a corporate number, he told me to google it. I asked if there was a supervisor or GM I could speak with he said not now, I asked for a number, he said no. I asked for when that person worked next, he said no. The supervisor said some nonsense about having a really good nose, and claimed he can "smell marijuana on the south side of the building when he's on the North side of the building." He made a bunch of remarks that were unnecessary like "you might allow that kind of drug use in your business and with your managers but we don't." I believe this Supervisor saw black man, in a rural area, who smelled of cigarettes, and decided to kick him out of their hotel. I stood directly next to my manager and he definitely smelled of cigarette smoke but not a bit of marijuana. The way this guy treated my manager and myself is ridiculous.

Just checked in. Terrible experience. The front desk guy got all bent outta shape when I told him I had a service animal (probably bc I waited to tell him until after he charged me). He pulls the the Ada sight and makes me wait 5 minutes, then asks me what my dog does. I said he was a medical alert dog and he goes with me everywhere.. however that want good enough for him. He needed to know exactly what my dog does. I pulled out a card the VA gave me and told him that saying a medical alert dog is sufficient enough. He then canceled my next 2 days on my reservation bc he didn't want to argue with me. I was talking in a clear calm voice. There are zero other hotels available. Never staying in a Wyndham again unless they give me my full reservation back

If I could rate zero stars I would. The Hindu man discriminated my employees who are working in construction labor job tired from working long hours of the day to finally be able to put there feet up for rest, just to find out he is discriminating these young men by not letting them get into there room that was paid for several days. Threatening to call the police, saying he will lie about distraction to the property if they don’t leave. Them not know what to do or where to go in the middle of the night because they come from far to work on building apartments for there community. Threatening to kick the other rest of workers. It’s very clear this a discrimination on there part, was it his Mexican Identification that much of a problem for you? It’s unbelievable someone could be so insensitive and mean to other people because of there origin. Especially him being a minority. I sure hope I get ahold of who is above you. Whatever franchise you are working with. It’s a-shame you tarnishing day inn company’s name with your actions. You will be in contact with my attorney soon.

As im going to check out I stop by the breakfast area to get some breakfast. I put some hash browns on the plate and then set my plate on top of the cereal boxes while I put my ketchup on top of my food as there was no room on counter. The younger Indian man at the desk stops helping the people he was helping and comes over to accuse me of eating on top of the cereal then continues to argue with me about it and tells me I'm disrespectful. I now understand what all these bad reviews towards this man are referring to. I don't understand how this man is still employed after all the reviews regarding him, as a good majority of people that stayed here never will again nor with the franchise.

Place was recently remodeled, and, therefore, comfortable and pleasant enough. However, it was already starting to show the signs of neglect: weeds in flower beds and in sidewalk/blacktop cracks; desultory cleaning; wonky light switches...

Rooms were horrible hair drier smelt like it was burning started the fire alarm doors didn't fully shut, key cards didn't work the manager was very rude the whole time thought we were going room to room when my family is 6 so two room expect us to have to go back and forth from rooms. The people house keeping had a small child with them hiding and stealing change. The lights flickered like a horror film. Bathing my children in rust bath water not cool I would not recommend this to anyone

I did not stay here. I made a reservation online then was turned away at the front desk. But after reading some of these reviews I'm actually relieved I could not stay here. Plus check out how management is responding to the reviews. Totally unprofessional. If you need a place to stay in willmar I recommend Best Western or Grandstay in New London.

It says pet friendly on the website, thats it & VERY deceiving; when showing up w/ your pet at check-in, THEN they inform you it's an extra $100.00 for your pet. As long as you have a valid doctor's letter statement that says they are support animals, they'll charge you nothing extra. The breakfast was good. The room could use some basic vacuuming, & the water pressure is mediocre at best. $133.00 for one night w/ a king sized bed, in a room that needs vacuuming, has mediocre water pressure, & the key cards didn't work from the very moment we got them; is WAY too much. The breakfast was decent tho, & the bed was comfortable.

The staff was very nice. The cleanliness of the rooms wasn't so great and the walls are super thin.

Don’t go here if you smoke. Even if you come in from outside and smell like smoke on your person you will be accused of smoking in the room, police threatened and aggressive request for money and then having to leave late at night to avoid drama

Horrible experience at a hotel. The rooms were old and outdated. There was dust bunnies all over the floor. The rooms carpet was damp. The room smelled of wet dog and dirty socks. There was smears of something brown on the walls in the bathroom. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. It was hard to sleep because it smelled awful. I am shocked I didn’t find bed bugs or roaches in the room. When packing up a woman knocked on the door. I said we were hurrying since we had 11 mins left before check out. She made an incoherent sound and signaled with her hands in a circular fashion. Which made me feel like I was garbage. I would recommend for people to stay in their car than stay in this awful hotel. I paid 140.00 and that was a completely waste of money. I am hopeful that I can save another person from making a mistake and staying at this hotel with my review.

Room was good but felt very unwelcome at this hotel from the very start by the manager. We stayed 2 days and the cleaning crew didn't clean anything other than empty the trash plus had change up by the tv took by someone. Very highly do not recommend. I would never go there again

Absolutely terrible service. We came into see family and my dad tried renting me and my family a room and the man was so rude and would not rent us a room because we are in this county. It made no sense and I tried to explain but he didn’t want to help at all.

Upon arrival to the property. Looks nothing like pictures online. No greeting by front desk person (it was 2am) directed generally to our room. The smell from the hallway permeated into the room chemical/curry kind of smell (I love curry- but in a kitchen or restaurant not my hotel room I just PAID for. Complaints: 1) Disgusting floors with debris including fingernail clippings and God knows what else along the entire edges of the floor 2) dents scuffs, holes, cracks, marks, stains all over walls and doors 3) no sink drain 4) rusted out hairdryer- did not work 5)all lampshades cracked, torn, stained, 6) multi plug wall unit is barely hanging into wall and switch toggle is shorting out 7) fire sprinkler completely rusted 8) key cards not working for room door AND outside entrance. 9) spots all over mirror 10) 1/4 inch dust on lamp bracket in between the beds 11) toilet seat slips almost off toilet 12) toilet base loose and rocks 13) headboard broken-put my hand on edge it fell down I scratched my arm and hand 14)window opens but doesn’t lock 15) all furniture is mix match, scuffed, edges broken off 16) hairdryer rusted and not working. 17) heating/fan unit was also very dirty and the vents were smeared with grease or something 18) towels beige and crunchy-check out the pic I was going to let these things slide and write a bad review. But on day 2 I went to desk to get a working hairdryer from the gentleman whom later refused to give me his name or title (any “staff” I saw were also not wearing uniforms or name tags.) and after waiting for him to write down my room number I was like just forget it- it’s not worth it now. I am frustrated, I get to my room and the key doesn’t work again so now I have to go back down to desk and I angrily told him that so many things were wrong and I can’t even get into my room. SO, he tells ME that everything works (the tv, microwave, refrigerator he said specifically) and that he was checking me out and I could just leave. WHAT ?? He said he didn’t like my attitude. So he checks me out! At that point I’m thinking now anything’s better than this. So Because the keys don’t work, he has to walk behind me to the room all the whole yelling “drugs drugs, you do drugs!”Again, WHAT? Then he’s yelling at me to keep my distance and sees the ice bucket on the floor and yells “DAMAGES DAMAGES!! I then get into the room, turn around and put the chain on bc he’s still out there yelling at me. He yells why did you put chain on? You’re a squatter and never leaving” he yells again “ I’m calling the police!”. Which HE DID, by that time I’m packed, and leaving. The kicker is he’s actually charging me for damages!!! ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE

The most disgusting nasty hotel with the rudest management I’ve ever saw in my life. Has no care about hospitality besides stealing money from people. Watch your rooms and your belongings! I wouldn’t trust anyone here. Charged over $325 in deposits for ONE NIGHT. Said there was a “smell” in the room but there’s no smell besides the nasty mold mildew smell from the hotel it’s self.
