Visited the Bishop last night with a group of friends to celebrate some birthdays. We had a fab time and really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and drinks. Our table was well ventilated (it’s currently mega hot!) and we had a great view into the garden and marquee. However the best bit of the night was the service from Cam. What a guy! He was attentive, friendly, funny, and he knew how to command a crowd. He made great recommendations and didn’t rush us despite it being busy. We all were in unison about how he made the night for us and next time we want him to join us! We are already planning our return! Thanks Cam and team!!

Beautiful historic pub right on the river. It's gorgeous inside, very traditional. Staff are very friendly and service is great. Fabulous choice of food and drinks. Also has an outside area. Recommended.

We was here in last Sunday for a quick dinner on way back to London. This place is beautiful(dog friendly). The Lady from the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and that's it from the nice part of our visit here. For more than 15 minutes nobody come take the order. We felt like the staff were doing everything they could not to look at us or come to the table. We attempted to use the app but signal was horrendous and the wifi did not work either. Finally we got a servers attention and have to ask about that. Beer was ok, a lot options to choose from. Main course came not long after the beer. My fish was super soggy, non crispy not hot. Both out chips are weren't "triple cooked". They was completely white and soft. Burger was ok but served without any salad or nothing (almost £15 meal). My boyfriend ordered chocolate dessert and it was very nice albeit quite on the small side. I tried the cold apple crumble with plum... Im not sure if your chef is trying the food before is served but...I never eat nothing that disgusting. Is mostly plum, no apples, completely no flavour and extremely sour. Served cold didn't help... It is a really nice place and we are upset about this as it has a lot of potential. Nice scenery, nice place on the river. Nice beer garden and very nice decoration and interior, but the food just isn't up to par. The place was apparently "busy" but there were 3 or 4 tables being served inside and yes almost all tables outside were with people but not everyone had food so in total maybe 20 tables were being occupied in and out

Glad we found this pub/ restaurant. All six of us were ready for food. It's situated alongside a fast moving river, which pleasant walk before lunch. The food is good basic British fare, and fair prices too.

Only just popped in for one drink staff was pleasant and welcoming. Looks like a pub we will visit again on our stay in Winchester. Lovely outside seating area overlooking the river.

A regular haunt, especially from Spring onwards! Always cathartic being sat with drinks literally ‘over’ the river!! Great to see the refurbishments on the outside patio/decking area, with welcome addition of efficient heaters - a must have for my wife!! 😉 I will always love this place, ***as long as Fullers ESB is readily and constantly available!*** 🤣 A classic ale, fit for a classic pub and location! 🥳

It’s a very popular place in the city next to the river. It’s got plenty of seating in and outside. There is a good choice on the menu and being a Fuller’s pub all you’d expect from the drinks selection too. It’s pet friendly also. A variety of seating- stools, high chairs, wingback armchairs and patio too. It can get very busy so aim to arrive early for the best seating arrangements. The food is locally sourced and is of a high quality. I’ve been here from Southampton and it’s a popular choice for me.

We went for a colleagues meal whilst staying in Winchester for the night. Had some great meals and drinks with excellent service. The views are great in the garden/marquee.

We got lucky this weekend, in addition to better than average Fullers fare there was a fantastic musician playing. For a pub chain the food was very good but the eclectic mix of re-worked classics from Rob Clamp whilst we were dining was a real bonus. Not sure how often this occurs (we visited on a Sunday) but we will be checking out future dates to return again.

Staff were all really friendly, good place to sit out by the river if the weather is nice. The food was really nice, definitely recommend the bao bun. Its pretty busy when its nice weather so make sure you book. That said even when it is busy the food and drinks come pretty fast.

A great pub right on the river in central Winchester. Always busy on the weekends, can be noisy (& difficult to hear conversations) but a nice warm atmosphere. Food was spot on as were drinks & the guy who served our table was great too. Really efficient & friendly despite the busyness! Pricey but most places are these days.

Excellent Thai curry with a real kick. Good value in the fairly upmarket town of Winchester. Service was prompt and very polite and there were no issues with the order or any of our food. Recommended!

A shocking experience! Dreadful staff that were incredibly rude - we complained that one of our glass was disgusting and they told us they won’t refund it or give us a new half a pint (please see attached photos). Half the group ended up with dodgy stomachs after due to the glasses! Definitely will not be returning! Please sack your manger at your earliest convenience!

I'm so, so glad I booked a table for this place as I doubt we would've gotten a table! We went at midday, there was a small queue of people waiting to get in and within 15 minutes of sitting down, the pub was pretty full. The service ran smoothly with staff getting orders from the table rather than people going to the bar. We didn't have to wait too long for our lunch and drinks. This is definitely the best Sunday lunch we've had in a while and would 100% go back.

A warm welcome awaits in an area steeped in history. Quality beers on tap in a fine location close to the river side.

The pub was, alas, ruined by "designers" at some time in the past. Shabby chic fittings? All walls gone and totally open plan. As a review I read said the pub is "cavernous". Not wrong... However, the staff are great, the chef is clearly very talented, the atmosphere and location are excellent. Shame a previous generation ruined the architecture but that's not the fault of those working there and running the pub now! So, I'd recommend the place.

Only had a coffee. Sat in the outside area which was ok but could be warmer. The outdoor heaters could be better. All indoor tables were mostly booked so clearly a popular location.

Pricey and pricey pub. Busy too...for no other reason than on a Saturday afternoon being in a picturesque position. Staff a bit huffy if you want to sample the beer first and ale needs checking before purchase, I and other folk were waiting ages at the bar being pushed around by younger folk jostling for their cocktails and shots....14 squids for a white wine and a pint of HSB. Nice touch though, heaters outside and good views of river. Fullers are onto a winner and they know it..is this a boozer of yesteryear ? Er no...the template for making money clearly in mind more restuarant than pub. Gales and Co are a dim and distant memory of charm versus Fullers ruthless business model.

Really nice pub. Clean, tidy, staff were friendly and helpful. Live music in the evening (was decent). Menu was slightly lacking in options but wouldn't not go on that basis. Outside seating / dining area was good too, spacious, outdoor heaters covering the vast majority of the garden and blankets were put out aswell. Will be coming back here to have a proper evening rather than a quick drink and something to eat after a day of graft. Definitely recommend!

Sat in the little sheds with a vodka and tonic on a cold Saturday afternoon with the fairy lights on was a great way to relax and chat . Great vibe to the place .

Came here on a busy Saturday lunchtime after being turned away at other venues for not booking. Friendly host was able to squeeze us in fairly quickly the service continued to be fantastic until we left. Lovely buzzing atmosphere, great looking venue with heated outdoor space. Food and drinks were very nice and best of all they were served quickly despite the place being at near capacity. Only slight issue was I ordered the buffaloumi burger and my friend ordered the fish finger sandwich at half the price and his was more substantial with a salad and mine looked quite lonely. Was expecting the buffaloumi to have a bit more going for it. Tasted good but not worth the extra. Would recommend this place for a meal or just a relaxing drink and will be visiting again when I’m next in Winchester

Excellent Sunday lunch. Server Georgia goes above and beyond. Three weeks now consecutive I have had roast beef here and I can't fault it. A bit pricey and they service charge, but worth it. Keep up the good work !!!

A great atmosphere. A busy Saturday lunchtime with a little wait for food, but it was worth it. Will definitely return.

Had Sunday lunch here. It was delicious! Generous portions, and I appreciated the fact that you got a Yorkshire pudding regardless of which meat you choose! Haha. We did have an issue with one of our meals, but they were more than generous in the way that they dealt with this. As others have commented, the acoustics aren’t the best as the whole place is pretty open plan. There was a large table sat near us and it did make it pretty noisy so something to consider if you’re looking for a quiet meal but otherwise, definitely recommend.

Their garden is the best place to be on a warm summer day, right next to the river the food is great too and so is service. I would recommend the shepherd's pie!

Wow what a fantastic place. Well organized for Covid tracking. Service was outstanding and the food just delicious. Slowly cooked beef dish was simply melting in my mouth. I would definitely recommend it.

👍 This was the first time I've been to Turtle Bay. Well designed and colourful, very Caribbean. I was with my nephew and he took me to treat me to Goat curry. As we walked in we were met by a pleasant gentleman who told us that there was no Goat curry? My nephew was disappointed but at least staff mem...
