I called Rudy’s around 8pm today wanting to know if there was going to be cover charge since it was a Friday. I was intending to go for Le Burger week so I wanted to know if I would have to pay cover just to eat. She said “No it’s not a regular bar night.” I then asked how long the wait was. Instead of answering my question, she started to rant saying “I can’t even see the front door, I have no cutlery, no napkins and no cups. Okay?” And then hung up the phone. I was so shocked at this service and instead of answering my question, she decided to give me an earful and indirectly told me not to come. Terrible customer service and Rudy’s has lost 5 customers.

Nice location and gives you a bit of vintage vibe. Had their Smoke burger and Crispy Chicken Burger w Fries and French onion soup. Also got Orange and Cranberry juice. Overall it was good, they give you this giant burger which makes you full half of the day😁 Very good service. Would recommend.

Lovely setting. We read they had great drink specials online, they had none. Drinks were pricy. I assume the post we read was old. They only have 1 vegetarian main and it's a veggie burger which if you're a vegetarian, is super boring, as this is often what I eat at every resutrant. The waitress recommended the baked goat cheese pita as an alternative. It was very good, but I thought it would be a flat bread, and it was an entire bowl of cheese dip. It was delicious, but eating a bowl of cheese dip for dinner is not exactly what I had in mind. Totally my mistake for not asking, but was puzzled by the recommendation in hindsight.

Great place to grab a drink and/or dinner after work. Foods a little pricey, but very good. Service is excellent and that's worth a lot. Also very comfortable seating, which is so often overlooked.

Our server was really nice. The place was quiet when we arrived. We got Salmon burger with soup of the day, Rudy's burger with poutine, two fountain drinks, bread pudding and creme brulee. Our total ended up around 85 bucks. We got refills on the drink. The salmon burger was nice, brioche buns? My goodness! Salmon? Cooked and tasted properly. The soup? Omg really good, a spicy chicken chilli soup kind of. The bread pudding? Highly recommend. Shout out to our server, I am so sorry I did not get your name.

Amazing place with delicious food. Burgers were unusual and really tasty. But most of all I was impressed by tasty desserts! And the restaurant itself is really beautiful.

Nice atmosphere and patio area. Service is great and the Manager CJ is always willing to jump in and lend a hand to his staff. Retro 80's music was a blast from the past. Lost a star because I wasn't given cutlery for a take out order. Lots of different beers on tap.

We went as a group here for Poutine week. This was not my favorite poutine, however it was a great hit with some others in my party. It was a slow roasted Piri piri chicken with a tangy gravy, cheese curds and sharp cheddar. Smoky, sweet grilled pickled peppers, scallions, cilantro, cherry tomatoes and creme fraiche. There was dueling pianos as free entertainment when we went. The service was for the most part very good (it depends on your server and we were served by 2). Parking is downtown parking. Its a bit problematic, but if you don't mind walking, there is a parking garage nearby.

Fantastic downtown place to eat. Our waitress Jusstice was absolutely fantastic. Highlight of our visit(s). Highly professional with speech and body language, knows the menu inside & Out. Just watching her serve other parties was a treat seeing how she handle various clientele. She would check up on us regarding how our food is tasting and she would see that we just stuffed our faces full of food and she would ask a yes or no question (which could be answered with a simple nod) and leaves, which is absolutely appreciated by because you don't need to clear your face or look like that guy who's trying to talk with their mouth full. I ordered the BLT wrap both times I went, it came with their signature Russian dressing and it was the best wrap I've ever had. It was stuffed full of bacon the dressing with just enough on the outside it was crunchy was well put together, and a side of fries was very tasty as well. Excellent, although somewhat pricey, dining experience.

Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q is a barbecue restaurant established in Leon Springs, a district of San Antonio in the U.S. state of Texas in 1989.[1] The company operates restaurants in Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and Florida and sells products online. Rudy’s perennial best-seller is brisket, with other popular offerings including turkey, chicken, pork ribs, sausage, chopped beef, pulled pork, and prime rib. Sides include coleslaw, cream corn, spicy pinto beans, new potatoes, potato salad and bread. Soda and beer are sold as beverages and both feature regional selections. Rudy’s also serves breakfast tacos in the morning, which can be made to order or bought from the “grab-and-go” selection in the country store.[6]

There burgers are too salty and not enough things in the dessert menu. The creme brulee was tooo small for the price I paid for it. The house beer was good tho. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money there.

Nice place but not for lunch break. We ordered at 12:15 and we had to wait until 13:00 and since we still hadn’t our food served we asked for take out… We had to wait even more for that too.. Really bad experience. They only had 2 people serving on lunch break rush hour..

The food is just OK. Extremely overpriced if you ask me, 20 dollars for Naan and dip is just crazy. The beef was 45 dollars and I couldn't believe how tiny it was, also overcooked BTW. The burger is good, though. (Also expensive) I feel ripped off 160 dollars for 1 entrée, 2 mains and two drinks. Definitely won't come back. John, the waiter was really nice.

First time eating in, nice place, good service. Started with a roasted red pepper soup which was very good for a small portion. I had a Rudy's burger which was good but a lot of grease dripping off, Costco type fries were not great.

First time being to Rudy’s, we went before a jets game and I took some business clients of mine. The atmosphere was great and the food even better. You will want to make a reservation on game nights or get there really early. Didn’t know this hidden gem even existed. Found my new place to go.

We booked a wedding last year 2020 and had to move it due to covid to this summer 2021. No one will return our calls as we are trying to figure out what is happening. Obviously no large weddings will be taking place. We have left messages with Mike, who never responds. They have our $2,000.00 deposit. Absolutely the worst people to deal with. Wish I could give them NO STARS

Had a very good dinner before the Jets game. Waitresses where very helpful on choosing what to get and felt like he really liked his job. Appetizer and Main course had great meat and vegetables where both very flavorful. Very lively atmosphere and a short indoor walk to Bell MTS Place.

Felt that the food is good, service is terrible though. We're on a team lunch today, besides it took time to get our orders taken and serve them (and its just with few people on a Monday, 12pm... one server is rude towards our colleague that brought his own lunch due to his personal need. We've been in a couple of restaurants in downtown, he always bring his lunch, but never had asked to take it away and not to eat his food. We're okay with asking us not to eat the outside food he prepared, if the server asked nicely. Unfortunately, she's really rude towards my teammate, commanding him to put away his food, no apologies or whatsoever. I asked why, and she just said, "because you're not supposed to bring outside food here" so my team and i we're puzzled as to why we can't as there's no outside food/drink sign. If explained well and nicely, we would totally understand. Anyway, we'll stay away from this restaurant for the time being.

Fantastic conversations with the bartender and server. They serve Glenmorangie, which is a rare thing to do, in my experience. And the space is a comfortable (mostly) stand-up lounge with space to get around each other.

Went for a work function. Hors d'oeuvre selection was sparse and confusing. They had a list of foods I assumed would be out, but never saw them. The nacho platter was a plate of tortilla chips surrounding a mass of sour cream. Not really appetizing.

For the most part the food has always been good and the locationis convenient. They have good food and drink specials and a nice spacious patio. The only downfall is the service has always been iffy. Sometimes slow and hard to get even though the restaurant appears to be empty or sometimes just not the friendliest. Again, that is not always the case, there have been wonderful wait staff on other occasions also.

I have a long time relationship with OPH as I used to work there as a server in my early 20's back when it was located closer to Polo Park & had the big sunroom out front. While I can understand how incredibly busy & overwhelming Sunday breakfasts can be & that mistakes can happen...in what universe would a cook STILL put out their mistake this obvious & expect a customer to just be 'ok' with that?!? If I had been handed that to take out to ANY customer, I would have REFUSED to insult the customer with that oversized burnt blob. Worse yet...is instead of replacing it with a nice one even if that meant it would take longer, they left the mess for me to have to deal with and wait ALOT longer to get my brkfst! NOT COOL!!!

  • 1/5 Kulvir B. 3 years ago on Google
Took kids for Valentines day.....ordered immediately and waited 40 mins for the kids good and 50 for ours. Food was cold and had to wait another 10 mins for any condiments/syrup so not enjoyable. When I asked what was taking long, I was told it's because of how many skip the dishes orders they got. They obviously knew this was a problem so they should have told us before we got there and we would have left, Instead of wasting time and money and leaving with cranky kids.

  • 4/5 Ashley A. 3 years ago on Google
The breakfast was good. The omelet was made a little differently than I'm used to but still good and my kids ate almost all of their breakfast. Next time less juice on the strawberries so it doesn't make the waffles soggy. Overall I would go back again with my family. Good place.

  • 1/5 Dominique T. 3 years ago on Google
Skip the dishes order: taco salad Most horrific dish I have ever had in my life. Chicken was rotten/pink. Lettuce was brown and wilted...almost slimy. The taco shell I can’t even put into words. It tasted like it was 60 years old. I don’t even know if the people working there read this. But oh my god. Please change your ways before somebody else gets as violently ill as I did.

My boyfriend and I love breakfast but when we go out his breakfast is never cooked right. I hate going out with him because he’s embarrassing. He SPECIFICALLY says to our server Marlo “bacon HAS to be medium, toast slightly toasted (etc)” and I’m like here we go again. His breakfast comes out and for ONCE IN MY LIFE no complaints. 5 stars. I have the frittata style omelette amd I don’t love it. Didn’t mention it to the server but she gave me 50% off anyways. Also hash browns here are the best. 5 stars Marlo. Restored my faith in eating breakfast out with my boyfriend again. Will return and hopefully be served by you again.

I had excellent service here last time I went...food was delicious although I wish pancakes were made better...tastes like they're made from a quick mix. With a name like 'Pancake House'....I wish they were made from scratch...maybe they are but they don't really taste that way.

We went for a couple of drinks. The glass where one of the drinks was served in was dirty and had lipstick residue that was very visible. It was pretty shocking. I can understand things can happen but what’s even more upsetting is that no one really addressed it. The server brought another drink and she barely made eye contact and I’m not even sure she said sorry.

We went to try their burger during le burger week. The burger itself was delicious with varying textures, which made every bite an adventure. We were informed the au jus was their french onion soup base and that was full of flavour. Their french fries were crispy but a bit on the salty side for my liking. The server was friendly but I thought the busser was more welcoming. The music was too loud. Overall a pleasant experience.

i don’t usually complain but i’m extremely disappointed. i ordered the mac and cheese today and i guess it was supposed to be deep fried but it was completely burnt. i also ordered the soup and by the time it was delivered it was freezing. i ordered my grandma the salmon burger and it was good but when we got it there was nothing inside the burger. everything fell out and was splattered around the box and her salmon was on the side of the box we had to put everything together. it was just not great and i will not be eating/ordering from here again unfortunately.

My burger was terrible. They must use the lowest grade ground beef possible. It was super gritty. The fish tacos had burn marks on the tortillas that overpowered the taste. And they never have enough servers so you always wait.

We had the best time at Rudy's, celebrating our 50th anniversary with family. Enjoyed the famous flaming caesar and John the Bartender served it with such flare! Totally recommend Rudy's, staff, food and atmosphere are exceptional.

👍👍 My family and I were visiting in from Chicago, IL for a few days and we wanted to find a top-rated pizza place to eat at. I saw Santa Lucia Pizza thru a google search along with some pictures and we were not disappointed by any means. The Mediterranean cheese dip and both pizza’s were delicious!
