I did not enjoy the experience here at all. We were seated and weren’t given menus. After some time we got a stack of menus some of which too large to manoeuvre. Awful start. The wait staff did not seem friendly at all as other ppl mentioned here and our food took about half hour to come 😒. Persons came after us and were served before us. We were starving by the time the food came. Fruit fly infestation. There are plants inside and everyone knows that fruit flies love the soil but the restaurant owners need to do something about the fly infestation. Whilst eating u are literally fighting with the flies and trying to enjoy a meal. That was unpleasant at best. I had a schnitzel with mushroom sauce with Bratkartoffeln. The meat was fine but the potatoes were overcooked and almost soggy. My friend had the Pfannkuchen which was awful, undercooked and tasted like eggs and nothing else. I would not return here and I was really disappointed considering all these great reviews.

We visited there last year and it was not a good experience. The menu and the food took forever to arrive. The schnitzel was not the nest and the goulash was bad, not warm and salty. Very oily potatoes.

This is the best place for traditional German cuisine. It’s also great they take credit cards as we found out some shops and restaurants only take cash. We had a feast eating schnitzel with mushrooms and our appetizer was delicious. Decent selection of beer along with a couple of local brews. They mostly speak German but they did have a waitress who understood English and even better was their menu in English! They told us they usually have reservations and are fully booked but we were lucky to get a table that night. Such a great dinner! It felt like home if you grew up in a German household as I did. We’d go here again.

Simply not good. There a lot of good reviews. I question these reviewers taste in cuisine. Schnitzel was cooked too hot too fast and arrived with blackened edges. Pork knuckle skin was soft, fatty and fleshy, instead of crackling and crunchy. Potatoes oily and soft. Apple cinnamon pancakes tasted of eggs, because the bottom was basically an omelette. Staff were friendly, but would not recommend. That it was almost empty on a Friday evening at 20:00 should’ve tipped us off.

We visited the restaurant on a Friday at lunch time. Currently the specialities or seasonal dishes are all around fresh Chanterelles. And it was one of the few restaurants who had a game dish (Hirschgulasch with Spätzle and chanterelles) on the menu. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. All 3 of us enjoyed having lunch there.

We ordered a plate with a schnitzel, fries and others or mixed meat with crauti and potatoes, the schizzel was burned on the edges and raw in the center, the fries were very oily and the meat dish had a burning and burning taste. several potatoes were burned, I do not advise it

Travelled here 5 years ago and had one of the best tasty steaks I had in ages. We only visited Wuppertal again to taste the steak and beautiful fresh Veltins pilsner

I had a well prepared and proportioned meal here. Original Nürnberger Rostbratwürstchen was my choice and it was great. The mashed potatoes had little bits of solid potato in it that created a subtle and pleasant texture. I was given just enough mustard for my sausage. Even the sauerkraut was above average.

We enjoyed good food & service here, very helpful & spoke some spoke English & had English menus. Around €3-4 for 40cl beer & €10-15 meal. Although €5.50 for a 50cl coke seems expensive. Otherwise nice central spot, cheers

Nice ambience and tasty food (perhaps a bit too greasy though). If you do not book, it is recommended to have dinner early in the evening. Enjoy it.

One of the better restaurants in Wuppertal. Has quite some traditional German meals that taste great. Service and prices are good, but it is relatively hard to get a table for dinner, so reservations are needed. It's a cosy place and looks quite original. Recommended for a visit.

👍👍 Surprisingly, very good food. We had the spare ribbs and the filet with some side orders. Both meals were excellent. We both want to return here if possible. The only downside was that it took some time to get the bill. Normally, this is no issue after a good large meal, but we were in a bit of a hu...

👍 The burger was delicious, together with the sweet potato fries. Also perfect for the vegan or non vegan people. The only thing I would have love to be asked for was the meat term of my burger. In my opinion, this place has an out of the box concept, worth trying it out. All the design online or at...

👍 Classic Extrablatt, but I like that stability - wherever you go, you get the same products and services. And more or less the same space, meaning it's not overcrowded with lots of tables. There is breathing space and enough space to bring small kids along. The location is good, close to the Hbf (Mai...
