(Translated by Google) Windmill Village is the best choice to see the windmill and learn about the production of wooden shoes. For tourists, it is an open-space museum with cheese factory, lace handicraft shop, wooden shoe factory and the actual operation inside the windmill. However, for the Dutch in the 17th and 18th centuries, it was a place of life and work. Here you can see how the early Dutch used windmills to generate power to manufacture and mill daily necessities. You can actually visit and understand in the wooden shoe factory. , How to hollow out poplar wood to make wooden shoes, and there are also various sizes of wooden shoes available for purchase. In addition, the entire windmill village is open. When various windmills are staggered, the waterways crisscross and the small bridges and running water are leisurely strolling. It is worth a stroll to appreciate it.

Great to explore the history of wooden footwear. Also to see the clogs be formed on machines and by hand. An amazing range of products available. Quite the experience. Very much recommend it. Especially as here you can combine it with visiting the windmills and cheese shop.

Fantastic experience. Highly recommended. They have videos to give information on clog making and where they are still worn. Entering the shop you will see displays of old machinery and half made shoes. Walking along you will come to an area with thousands of pairs on the walls and ceilings and other gifts to remind you of the Netherlands. Prices range from cheap to expensive. Magnets cos around €3 each.

Everything was pretty and good. The only thing that I don’t like was their exchange rate(1$=0.86€) Considering that the exchange rate of these days is 1$=0.92~0.95€(April 2022) Although they are saying they don’t charge any commission, they are already charging you much. That means they don’t charge you ´additional’ commission.

A must visit in Amsterdam! However it’s quite commercialized. Their official instagram is well managed and staying actively. They will always give you a thumb up when you mention them in the Instagram story👍

One of the most iconic shops inside the most iconic places and tourist attractions in the Netherlands. The shop located inside the famous windmill village of Zaanse Schans is always full of visitors. The entrance is free and inside you can see a small museum like section dedicated to history of wooden shoes and the most important thing there is the wooden shoes workshop where you can see directly how these shoes are created. The last and the biggest part of the place is the shoo with any type of souvenirs and where of course you can purchase a pair of these iconic shoes for you.

(Translated by Google) Wonderful!! See how the typical Dutch clogs used to be made is wonderful. Admission is free and at the end you have a shop where they sell Dutch clogs and clogs adapted to anyone. It is curious and very beautiful. And the environment with the mills, meadows, cows, sheep, ducks .... It is suuuuper beautiful. I recommend it at 100x100 !! You do not miss the hype!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 (Original) Maravilloso!! Upon entering the workshop, you are immediately greeted by the pleasant aroma of fresh wood and the rhythmic sounds of carving and shaping. The skilled artisans are always happy to share their knowledge and expertise, making the experience engaging and educational. The highlight of the workshop is undoubtedly observing the shoemakers in action. Watching them transform a plain block of wood into a perfectly shaped clog is nothing short of mesmerizing. The attention to detail and precision they demonstrate is a testament to their years of practice and dedication.

So awesome! There is a great tattooed clog man who is so friendly and funny. We took a great picture with him! This place is a great spot to check out if you make it up here. Only a 20 minute train ride from Amsterdam Central. Train comes twice an hour (at the 31 and 01 for arrival and 29 and 59 for leaving). Amazing place in general! Pics are from the whole area in general.

Great souvenir shop with a live demonstration of how wooden shoes were made. They also have an exhibition of different wooden shoes. It's free, so there's no need to buy tickets to enter and see the show or the exhibition of shoes

Nice stop, where we were able to see several examples of clogs. The displays were nicely done. They had an area set up with equipment used to make them as well. We were able to try pairs on to see what they felt like. They offered seveal for purchase. It's worth the time to check out if you're in the area.

This was a good tour and overview of the Dutch cheese and shoe making process. There was a wooden shoe making demonstration as well as a cheese sampling. I thought the most interesting part was about the houses in the area. Some date back to the 1700's. The tour was about 2.5 hours which is about right for a pleasant afternoon. The rainbow was a bonus!

Best place to visit in holland to get an experience for traditional working wind mills and traditional Dutch clog making demo. Watch out for the parking costs - it’s not hourly basis and fixed amount per day. If you want stretch your legs a bit , you can find parking spot 5mins walk.

Absolutely a must visit location. The clog making workshop has presentations all day long, so you can see it whenever, and it's 5 to 6 minutes long so there's no long waits. They are also free, at the entrance you can see the history and evolution of clog making and then go into a well stocked souvenir shop.

A free museum about this particular kind of shoes. Very interesting and useful to know more about Dutch culture! We've also seen a live demonstration of how they make them (in English), we've really appreciated that! The guy was hilarious. There's also a shop inside if you want to buy something such as souvenirs or other things. I recommend you to stop and read everything if you come in Holland. The visit takes about 20/25 minutes, not so much longer.

Clog Factory is open for visit in the Netherlands and recommended for visitors who are interested in getting one of these wooden clogs as a souvenir. This particular clog factory is located in Marken and visitors can witness a certain process of clog-making. There will be a brief explanation and demonstration of how these clogs are made. However, it was a very short visit and would be better if visitors could be given more time to enjoy the process of the making.

(Translated by Google) With the help of a handful of showcases followed by a workshop, the history and peculiarities of the Dutch wooden clogs are impressively illustrated. The comparison with worldwide counterparts shows similarities, but also regional characteristics. Worth seeing and of course an absolute classic 😊 The showcases are bilingual - Dutch and English. Otherwise, the entire facility of the open-air museum can be compared with a large souvenir shop, spread over several historical buildings and peppered with typical historical utensils. The parking fee is 9 EUR, regardless of whether you spend 1 hour or the whole day there. But that's okay, because apart from a few buildings, you don't pay any further admission. There were four of us, making 2.25 EUR per person. That was absolutely perfect in the overall experience!

The Wooden Shoe Workshop 'De Zaanse Schans' is a must-visit attraction for anyone interested in traditional Dutch culture and craftsmanship. The highlight of the workshop is undoubtedly the demonstration of how they make wooden shoes. Visitors can witness the entire process of turning a block of wood into a functional and stylish shoe. The skilled craftsmen take great care and attention to detail, making sure each shoe is perfect. Aside from the demonstration, the workshop has a vast variety of wooden shoes, from the traditional clogs to modern designs. The shoes come in different sizes, colors, and styles, making it easy to find the perfect pair. Whether you want a practical pair of shoes for gardening or a souvenir to take home, you'll find it here. The souvenir shop is also worth a visit, as it has a wide selection of Dutch-themed gifts, including wooden shoes, cheese, and windmills. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they're happy to answer any questions you have about the products. However, it's worth noting that the attraction can get busy, particularly during peak season. This can make it challenging to navigate the workshop and shop comfortably. Overall, the Wooden Shoe Workshop 'De Zaanse Schans' is an excellent attraction that provides a glimpse into Dutch culture and heritage. It's a great place to visit if you're looking for an authentic Dutch experience.

After arrival we park at the Zaanse Museum We buy tickets from inside the museum for 15 euros for adults (not including inside the mills themselves.) The museum only explains the economic history of the region and the development of industries in it. So you can enter the area without entering the museum. Inside the museum there is the museum itself, an old factory for chocolate and biscuits, as well as a museum for candles (it operates as a museum only without real production). Important note: The rest of the region does not require tickets It can be entered without tickets because it is intended to sell visitors the materials they have available.
