Uşşaki
Lodge
Fountain
"The
founder
of
the
fountain
is
unknown.
The
date
written
in
abjad
from
the
Arabic
inscription
shows
970.
It
is
rumored
that
the
line
on
it
belongs
to
Karahisari.
The
construction
date
of
the
lodge
is
much
later.
(1789)
This
fountain,
located
on
the
wall
of
İmrahor
İlyas
Mosque,
looks
like
a
round-arched
door.
The
most
important
feature
of
the
fountain
is
the
inscription
on
it.
Calligrapher
Karahisari's
writing,
which
is
considered
a
masterpiece,
remains
intact
on
the
inscription
stone
inside
the
arch.
The
first
line
of
the
inscription,
decorated
with
various
flower
and
cypress
motifs,
gives
the
date
of
construction
of
the
fountain
using
abjad
calculation.
At
the
bottom
of
the
inscription,
there
is
the
word
tawhid,
written
aesthetically
in
a
script
similar
to
the
basmala
in
Karahisari's
Turkish
and
Islamic
Handicrafts
Museum."
